I ended up having my car towed to this shop after having a super stressful night. I experienced a flat tire while traveling on 610. After roadside assistance came and put on my spare, I headed home only to realize that the spare was leaking. Since it was only a few miles, I thought I might be able to make it. Alas, it was not to be! I had a second flat ( not the spare) and now had to wait for towing. I came back the next morning and was greeted by George. He made sure I got the right tires at a great price and the replacement spare that I needed. He was knowledgeable,courteous and kind. The cherry on top was when I came back a week later to pick up the spare George remembered me and when I pulled up he came right out and installed it. It doesn't get much better than that. Dang, once again moving too fast I misplaced his name (they were green, grey, purple orange idk). Anywho, the gentleman was very nice and professional with his intention with me. I used to be a customer for twenty years, but this week it turned into a nightmare. I only wanted my very good front tires in the back and wanted to buy 2 new, it always worked when I had that done, this managers said that it's not possible, he talked down to me like in some kind of an idiot, i ended up buying four tires, which I didn't want, he said my tires have been worn insides.That is not possible because I only drove twelve thousand miles in three years, the ties I had bought in twenty twenty two.My front tires supposedly lasted for eighty thousand miles. I'm so disgusted i'm nauseous. The manager on Jone's road is a lair and a crook, I placed a review on Google, a supposedly Asst VP answered, I even met him in person and he is a lair as well. I will never go there again in my entire life, i hope they're very happy.They lost a long time customer, there are plenty of other places in use nearby tires where they have nice people. I used to like that place, but that crooked manager made it possible to get rid of some of the clients. I even send the email to the CEO of that company, he never answered, but that seems to be a guy from india.So they are very stuck up people anyway. As a woman, please stay away from the place. This place is a complete waste of time. I called ahead of time and asked about the wait time before arriving. I was told hardly no customers were in the lobby. I was lied to and when I came around 8 customers were waiting and there were only 2 service advisors. There were only 2 mechanics working on cars. I was ignored the whole time and waited over 20 minutes. Customers that came in after me were seen while I was still waiting. Eventually I got up and left. read more

I stopped here the other day because the tire on my car was slowly leaking air. They found the issue and repaired it for free (LOVE discount tire!!). I really came here to praise the people who work here. Armando and George were at the desk and Armando was very courteous and professional with everyone he talked to and George literally ran out from the behind the desk in order to get the door for an elderly woman who was exiting. Customer service that goes missing these days... Hopefully they're treating their employees well so they can keep great guys like them! Another great experience when I came in to get my tires rotated. Jonathan came out to open my door and greet me. He immediately got my info of what my truck needed, and before I knew it, my truck is in the bay getting the tires rotated and a new spare replaced. Now, as I'm sitting waiting for my truck, I am watching a whole sh*t show transpire with a disgruntled customer, carrying on and haranguing Spencer over the price of tires. Discount Tire employee have ALWAYS tried to find the best deal & quality of tire to fit your daily driving habits. They look at all the info (mileage, prior purchases, budgets, etc) before making a suggestion for the tires that best suite your driving needs!! Spencer was the most pleasant and professional I have witnessed in this kind of situation. As the customer continued to berate & argue over the pricing, Spencer continued to be upbeat, calm, and cheerful while explaining to the customer that due to inflation, the prices of tires have, unfortunately, increased, but he would waive the disposal fees to get him the best possible price and deal, but could not discount an already discounted tire. I usually leave reviews for just food places on Yelp but this will be my first non-food review. I came here because I needed a new tire. I've searched online far and wide to find a tired that isn't an arm and a leg. One tire for my car usually cost $180+. I found a tire online for only $94 so this was my go to. I came in and was helped by a nice gentleman Kendarius is what it says on the paper. He got my information, helped me get my tire, went to inspect my car and I waited. I waited about a good 15-20 minutes tops and I was on my way. Service was quick and easy. Customer service was simple and easy. I've never walked out of a car maintenance place so fast. Why didn't anyone tell me about this place ages ago? Definitely will return again for all my tire and wheel needs! read more

I was very pleased with my recent tire-buying experience at this location: prices were good, service prompt and Brad and Andrew were outgoing, knowledgeable and efficient. Installation went smoothly with no damage or scratches to my wheels. I'd reserved an installation time online but found different tires I liked better. Brad handled the change over the phone and even though the tires showed a 3-5 day lead time, he managed to get them the following day. Staff proactively called to update me on the process and cheerfully fixed a system error which kept over-writing the subject car on the invoice with my other vehicle. I've been coming to this location for years and always took advantage of the free air service. Today I came in for some air and the gentleman at the air station told me I may have a leak and that they would be able to take care of it for FREE. I spoke to John and his guys were able to take care of my leak in less than an hour. Thankfully, I called back for the 10th time and Kris answered the phone, he understood my frustration and got the sensor ordered directly from the Oem dealership, expedited next day delivery. Had an appointment today at 11am to get a new set of tires installed on my 2006 Nissan Altima. Got there at 10.30am, 30 minutes early for my 11am appointment. A customer service representative greeted me and checked me in. He reminded me that my appointment was at 11am and it would be ready by 11.30am, which was not a big deal to me, since I knew I was there early. About 10 mins later, my car was brought into a bay and the process of putting new tires on began. Then at 11.15am, my car was ready to go. Another top notch customer service experience from Discount Tire. This was my first time going here to get a fix on my truck. After getting my tires rotated at a Walmart Auto Center, I was told that a nail was in my front right tire, and I need to get it plugged right away. When I got here, the people told me that the nail is in a bad spot of the tire, near the edge, and that it would need a replacement. Luckily, they had the same tires that I have on my Chevy. I agreed to have the tire replaced, which was only $60. The guy then told me that he'd give me a better deal; he offered me warranty on all four tires in case they go bad or something. I gladly accepted the offer for only $44 more. I was glad I took that offer because anything can happen with car troubles, and it was highly suggested by this man. The fix took about an hour, but the guys at the shop are fast, and friendly and will tell you anything else that needs to be fixed after they're done. All together I walked out of there paying about $125 but it was worth it getting warranty and all. And the prices on some tires are really reasonable, just ask for some selections. It's a nice repair shop for tires, and I will be coming back here whenever I need some new tires or fixing up on them. Friendly people, reasonable prices, and great hospitality are at this Discount Tire. I really enjoy that a lot. read more

Never coming here again! Came to get air in my tire as it was at 18psi... I was driving a Blue 2018 Nissan Rouge. Guy said it was super low but "inspected" the tire and said it was good. As I traveled back to San Antonio the tire light came on again, checked the pressure and was dropping really fast. Had no choice but to pull over on the side of the highway and the tire was completely flat. Fortunately for me I know how to change a tire but if this had happened to someone that doesn't they would be stuck on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. Now I have to depend on this spare tire that was already low, get it aired up and HOPE to make it home safe. This was some BS. If you have a tire that comes in with half the tire pressure, you would think they would take an extra step to make sure it's safe! read more

Yep all 5 stars! I worked with Ryan, who hands down is cute and professional. Someone's muffler fell off in front of me while driving on 249 and I thought I just rolled over it with no issues. But 5 seconds later my tire blew out and rim was totally bent! So I rolled off the HWY to Sam's club and they put on my spare! Bright and early I call Ryan and he was so nice and pleasant even over the phone. He gave me an estimate and I was pleased with that! When I arrived he still was pleasant and remembered our conversation via phone! I can't stress to you how much I love great customer service! The crazy part is that he had just got in a car accident that morning and it still didn't reflex his professionalism and customer service. I was so pleased when they called me to pick up my car. First off, Darren grupa who helped me didn't show me prices. He only gave me one option. I get it, your a sales person & im driving a benz. So they automatically think they can rip you off plus I'm a girl. They think your ignorant. I didn't appreciate their business. They also played with my car settings, my alarm was turned off. I came to this one because my tire pressure was already dropping more than 5 points, from 47 to 32. I just went yesterday.. My experience was different here. Joe showed me what was wrong, he made me feel confident & I really appreciate that. I'm happy this location is so close to my house. I wish I would've came here first. This place is fast and fair on their prices. Discount tire offers free tire patches and air. NTB charges you 30$ for that service and nickel and dime you. I normally go to discount tire and buy used tires for around 60$. I went to goodyear and their air compressor wasn't working (how do you run a tire shop without the ability to air tires?) so discount tire wins when it comes to local large chain tire shops. read more

Having been a loyal Discount Tire customer for a very, very long time (over 30 years), I couldn't help but be somewhat heartbroken when I walked into the Discount Tire store at 9415 FM 1960 Rd, West (Houston, TX 77070) to see the lobby practically empty (during rush hour traffic) - with only one customer in the entire place. I suppose long past is the time when they used to have their lobby full, customers bustling around all over the place, because Discount Tire WAS the place we could count on for great customer service. Well, it seems those days are gone - hence the empty lobby. I came into the store to buy two new tires and I wanted them installed on the front, not the rear like they recommend. Why? - Because front tires wear faster and because (to me) new tires in front give better braking and steering control. Moreover, when travelling at highway speeds, what would you prefer - a tire blowout in the front or a blowout in the rear? My money says a rear tire blowout offers a higher chance of survivability than one in the front. Thus, I would prefer to avoid a front tire blowout at all costs. But most importantly though, I wanted the new tires mounted on the front because that was what I wanted. I have read the research and I understand the physics behind placing the tires with the most tread in the rear (rear tire hydroplaning is harder to correct for) and it makes perfect sense. However, I still wanted the new tires mounted on the front (the tread on the other two tires was still good). When placing my request, the salesman would not budge; "the new tires MUST be mounted on the rear" he says. So I walked out and purchased my tires from a tire store down the street (and saved money in the process). Whatever happened to "the customer is always right?" FYI: I was told by a tire salesman recently, that mounting new tires on the rear is a tricky way for tire retailers to push you into replacing all four tires, since "you wouldn't want to be driving around with a couple worn tires." Just a quick side note: all of the tire manufacturers and tire retail stores recommend continued tire rotation from the front to the rear and vice versa. Question: doesn't rotating the tires as is recommended placing the more worn tires in the back, contrary to the spirit of their "mounting the tires with the most tread in the rear" policy? read more

Did you not see me standing here. I proceed to let him know it's my car and my back tire is low. He goes looks at all of them. Comes back in and says well you need two new front tires. I said well the reason I'm here is because the back tire. He then holds his hand up and says, I understand but you also need two new front tires. As this is happening my boyfriend now understands why I said when we walked in I hope we don't get him. Thankfully my boyfriend steps in and left him know why we are here (the back left tire) all of sudden he gets it!!! I can see the store but the car couldn't make it. Called the store for a referral to towing service. Chris from Discount Tire came over to help us personally.
