One of my trusted places to go for my tire needs. A few months ago, I busted a tire and I came here because it was the closest place to me to have them replaced. At that time I only had two replaced. Their replacement and repair policies are great that were shared with me and easy to understand. Just last month, one of my tires got damaged by a nail and I came back. Both times they serviced my tires in a timely manner. Maybe 30 minutes to an hour max. Today I'm back to replace my final two tires in preparation for the upcoming winter weather. Each time I've visited here a representative immediately approaches my car with extreme attention to detail. They recommended an alignment and the cost was steep and with my hesitancy they offered me a discount. There is a lot of value, attention to detail, and providing superior customer service. They checked the pressure, topped them off, and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I've been to multiple Discount Tire locations over the years and never had an issue until now. This location felt dishonest and pushy. If you're looking for honest service, skip this place and head to the Louetta location. I had a very good experience with Discount Tire. I had 4 tires installed at this location. I left the center and after work I found one of my new tires was flat. I was able to get home. The next morning I explained my situation to the manager. He immediately drove to the location with an assistant. The 2 of them got the car back to the store and install a new tire. By 1 pm we had the issue resolved and he returned my car to my office. He even replaced one of my windshield wipers. The cause of the problem is the barcode from Goodyear. The barcode is located in a location where the raised surface allows for an improper seal in the tire is very low pressure. This tire could not be repaired without taking the tire off the wheel and re-installing the tire. His service was commendable and I appreciate the sense of urgency to my situation. read more

Worst location in the city of Houston. Always crowded. Left vehicle there only to return after not getting a notification that my vehicle was ready. When I arrived I discovered that they had replaced the original with the wrong tire that did not match the other 3 tires. Technician squealed the tires coming out of the service bay. I did not appreciate the care they showed for my vehicle. Going to a more professional location next time to have my vehicle serviced. Terrible. read more

My moms van needed new tires, cause they were older than dirt! They may have actually invented it So I went on their website to see what they had to offer, due to the fact that I absolutely hate what I call "sales sluts" The website has a pretty cool feature that allows you to simply put your license plate number in and it will "POOF" pop up with a list of ties that are compatible with your car/van/truck. One small caveat to that is: it doesn't seem to work with handicap plates. I was extremely impressed and pleased with the service and professionalism of everyone at the jones road store. The tires I ordered were not available there till Monday so that's the day I made my appointment for. When I received the notice they were in that next morning (Friday) I called and they said I could come as soon as I wanted to! That one small thing made such a huge impact on me by making an extremely busy Monday less so. And has gained me as a customer for life! Met Carlton, the new manager. He was very helpful with my wiper blades. He replaced a failed one after a year at no charge even though his store did not originally sell them. I told him his store is pretty good but the wait is always long, I now go mostly to 1960 and Perry where they are always less busy. I was on the way to my best friends art show downtown when luckily I stopped for gas and I noticed my rear left tire was almost flat. I tried airing it up but when I put the tire cap back on it was leaking air so fast and I noticed there was a screw in my tire. So I drove to the Discount Tire 2 mins away from where I got gas. By the time I got there my tire was completely flat. I pulled into the parking lot at around 5:20 and walked close enough to the door to see the hours and noticed that this location closed right at 5. I walked back into my car and got in, shut the door and texted my best friend to tell her the news that I wasn't going to be able to make her art show. (I also had a mini freak out about how I was going to get to work Monday) Then I looked up to this gentleman at my window, he asked me how he could help me. I told him but you guys are closed and he followed right up with telling me he couldn't let me leave with my tire looking the way it did (which was flat as a pancake) I'm not sure what the gentleman's' name was but the sales person on my receipt said it was Trevor R H. It was so kind of him to notice my car in the parking lot and want to still help me even though that would mean that him and his crew would have to stay a little later to fix my car. It was getting time to replace my original set of tires on my 3 year old car. Normally that meant a trip to Sam's Club because that's where I have bought my tires from for years. This time I considered a change. It's not that I had a problem with Sam's because I didn't. After noticing the large number of Discount Tire stores here in the greater Houston area, I thought it would be easier to get tire rotations and other services done when needed. Also, the new tire prices were competitive with Sam's so I decided to give Discount Tire a try. I dealt with Nash and he provided excellent friendly service. After consulting with him and doing some of my own research, I decided on a set of Continental Pure Contacts instead of my usual pick (Michelin's) for the first replacement tires on the car. This set of tires will last me during most of my remaining ownership of the car so I didn't want to skimp on quality and with also needing 20" tires that can add up to be a pretty penny in total cost. I also added their road hazard warranty to the bill. I ordered the tires on a Saturday and they had them ready to install on Monday. Total installation time took about 30-40 minutes and I left happy. As an FYI, they also have free WiFi here. Of course, I will now be returning here for the next few years to get rotations and balancing along with anything else related to my tires. I hope I don't have to use the road hazard warranty but if I do, I will get a new tire. At this point, I recommend Discount Tire but then it seems most of Houston already knows this. If you come here ask for Nash as he is very professional and helpful. If my future services are this positive, I will probably upgrade my score to a 5. read more

Tried a different location and there was a 2-1/2 wait so I opted out. Went to a suburban location early to avoid crowds and was told by Troy the wait was 45 min. Well 45 min. later after seeing 2 cars go in ahead of me I checked and was told there were 2 more appointments ahead of me and could be another 45 min wait. I get having to wait, but like most people I can't sit there all day...if they had been more forth coming with the appointments and wait times I could have planned and not waisted my time or anyone else's. Have had good service from Discount for 40 years until today at the 9550 Jones Rd store. I was prepared to purchase a new set of Michelin Defenders for my SUV with one tire that had a cut in the sidewall, and I told the associate this. The young associate would not warranty the one because it wasn't actually leaking air yet! First time I have ever had damage like this and was refused replacement in 40 years even with my purchased warranty! I went to a different store at 9415 FM 1960 Rd West and first thing Bryan noticed was the cut in my sidewall! No issues, excellent service, I bought a new set. read more

Came on a Saturday with one flat tire (back left). Went in to get it changed, ended up getting 3 new tires due to the wear and tear of tires. Only tire that did not get changed was the back right. I get them changed and they bring out my vehicle claiming they aired up all my tires. Oddly, the only tire that did not feel aired up was the back right. When I came in this wasn't the case. A couple hours later I'm on the side of 290 putting my spare tire on because the back right tire now has a flat. Brought it back Monday and explained the situation and the associate claimed there was no way they would touch the back right tire initially. I found it pretty odd since my initial back left tire had a very distinctive set of scratches on it. Just so happens that the now flat back right tire has those same distinctive scratches. Despite the coincidental circumstances and evidence the associate was so sure that none of the mechanics would ever make such mistake when changing four tires on a vehicle. Charged me then told me it was a 40 minute wait to change only one new tire. Won't ever come back to this store and wouldn't recommend others to visit this location as well. read more

We come to this location because it's close to our house, but we no longer will be using Discount Tire. We are literally tired of it. EVERY time we come in for ANYTHING they say ALL of our tires need to be replaced when we know they don't. It's annoying to have to reiterate to people over and over we just want what we came here for. My Fiance found tires online, and went to the store to buy them but was told that they aren't in stock and the only ones that would fit his car are $110 each. My Fiance said no, thank you and that he would have to go somewhere else and then Brandon, the associate helping him, says "oh wait, I have some that are $55 each." I understand up-selling a product, but come on. Just give us what we came for. Then, his total came out to be $187 due to a ton of unnecessary, and unrequested fees that were put on his bill that were not mandatory, and were not approved by him. All in all, I'm tired of always having to watch my back with this place. It's something like this EVERY time. I want to do business with a company that cares and wants the best for their customers, not their own pockets. read more
