I brought my 2020 Honda back in Feb 2021 for a quick tire check due to TPMS warning, a leak caused by either low pressure due to nail or just the current weather. I brought my car here because it was a very rainy week and this location is closest to my house and I'm concerned about driving the distance to Honda dealership which was about 15 miles away. First, I waited in the empty lobby for about 20--25 minutes for a technician to obtain my information. Second, I waited more than an hour to get the tires patched up due to a nail causing the leak. No biggie. They got the job done. After a week, TPMS warning sign showed up once again. This time I decided to bring to Honda. The area where the leak was found and patched up by discount Tire was on the edge of the tire. According to Honda's technician's explanation, it's not advisable to patched up any damages/leak on the edge of a tire because it has the most contact on the road. Overtime, it will continue to leak and eventually explode while driving on high speed. Which explains the constant warning of the TPMS. Because it was tampered by non Honda technician, it voided all warranties on my tire!!I I am very MAD AT THE INCOMPETENCE OF DISCOUNT TIRE TECHNICIANS AT THE BELLAIRE BLVD/HWY6 location. I came to the conclusion that they were cheap tires that are put on the car when you buy it not the same quality is if you buy them separately. Had to go to the dealer for something and ask them about tires and they didn't have time to talk to me. So I went to discount tire by my house where they were more than happy to help me out. And actually the tires that they had were better quality and cheaper than what I saw online for the dealer. Very nice people took care of me pretty quickly. No biggie, it's expected. I'm an early bird for this very same reason. The guy who helped me checked the rest of the trucks sensors to ensure they replace the right one. Turned out I needed one more. Cool, it's expected to run into things you didn't originally plan for. Gave me an expected wait time, informed me that the tires seem to be in good condition so it might just be a patch for the tire that was low, but to be ready in case it's not repairable. I came in here with a punctured tire around 11am one Monday morning and they had me out with a new tire within 20 minutes. The manager was very nice and even retroactively let me purchase their warranty certificates on my three other tires. Granted, I live in Mississippi where there are no Discount Tire Companies but it was the only way to get the new tire discounted to avoid paying full price. My general experience with Discount Tires is that they are very fast and efficient. But their prices aren't really that much cheaper than what you could get at say Wal-Mart or through some research on the internet. You can get discounts by buying more stuff - extra warranties, or more quantities, but I dislike that business model. Horrible business. I run a vinyl shop down the street and they called me saying one of my customers came in for a tire balance and as they were removing a lug it came off stripped. I asked if they used a torque wrench and they replied yes. I then told them that he had very expensive soft aluminum lugs and they must be taken off with hand tools. They replied that they were not responsible and that we stripped them while putting them on. I brought HD surveillance over showing my workers putting it on effortlessly with their hands and then torquing them to specs. They still denied responsibility. came here for maintenance since the tires come with free rotation and balancing , I usually go to NTB but hey why not , they rotated my tires but it felt like they didn't even balance them , i went back a second time and I could still feel shaking in my steering wheel , my 2014 honda civic could run 90 just fine before I came here , went a third time and they tried offering me hub rings , my car had no issues before I came here and now I don't like how my car drives , very disappointing since the service is offered with the tires. read more

My experience at this location of Discount Tire has been good so far. There was a long line inside when I went on a Thursday morning around 11 am, but it moved fast. They offer the typical good service and prices I've come to experience at Discount Tires in Austin. I had to get a new wheel for a 2001 Corolla my parents bought used back in 2002 (and didn't scrutinize enough before purchasing). The steel wheel to fit the car wasn't in stock and they had to order it from California. It cost $60. The labor, valve, and tax eventually made the total bill $72. The alloy wheels (which are stronger and lighter) only cost about $70 but would unfortunately make the car look like a riceburner. The waiting room is big and open with floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides. There's free (albeit cold) coffee but no free, cold bottled water like at the Austin Discount Tire locations. There's a nice big magazine rack with a wide variety of magazines to read when you're waiting. :) If you're a curious car owner, you can sit at the counter that overlooks the garage area and watch your car being worked on. That's unique of my Discount Tire experiences and I like that concept. The mechanic who works on your car demonstrates to you where the problem to be fixed is. I always feel like I'm getting a square deal at Discount Tire compared to the mechanics my parents used to go to in the 1980s. This Discount Tire location is on the North side of Bellaire Blvd, between the Sugarland-Howell and Hwy 6 intersections. Had my car towed here today, after falling in to oblivion on Eldridge and destroying 2 of my tyres. Josh/Justin (his name starts with a J) was exceptionally helpful. Told me the only tyres he had on site were Michelins but he could get me cheaper ones if I wanted to wait. Once they had the car in the air, they discovered the wheels themselves were destroyed and wouldn't hold pressure. So back to square one! $750 each (quoted) or set of 4 after markets for the same price. After talking to hubby, he decided we wanted to look for the official VW wheels for our and the sales guy offered to call and find us wheels- which he did, at a great price! They installed one that day and will install another next week when it arrives, but it was a great all round experience considering the epically crap circumstances. Toilet was clean and spacious and they have koala care changing table - excellent considering many restaurants and public buildings don't have them!! read more

This is the shadiest place in the industry. I would highly recommend alternative locations. To save you years of trouble. I've had issues with this location not doing their job. I know your in sales but it should not have to cheat customers out of their service. 1) don't listen to their tire warranty. The moment you bring in your tires for normal wear and tear, they will tell you it is because of your alignment and force you to buy new tires. 2) don't check your tire there. I came in to get my tire checked before closing, they came out to me saying my tires was flat and needed new tires or they will put my spare on. I didn't even go in there with a flat tire so what the heyyyy is going on. 3) yesterday, my soon went the to get his air filled, told him to get new tires and he will not make it out of there driving. Good thing we knew a tow driver so we got it towed to another location and sure enough, all tires had 8 months left of thread. My soon in new to cars and I work out of town. The tech assigned to my tire repair in the first attempt to patch it was inefficient. I have to go back to this store because my TPMS lit up again for the same tire. Another Tech named Omar did the extra steps to assure that my tire was completely fixed. Omar checked for bubbles and balanced it. I reported it to the manager about the 1st tech who just patched up my tire and quickly put my tire back without the 2 extra steps. The best Discount Store I used to go to was in Hwy 6 and Dulles. They were the best, they're so busy though in spite a full staff. I had to wait 2 hours but, I never drove back for the same problem. So it was worth the wait. I've been to this place multiple times and no problems. I bought a second pair of OEM TPMS sensors for my second set of wheels and the workers here were able to program my TPMS sensors to my car so it would recognize them. This was after I went to the dealership, a wheel and tire shop, and two other Discount Tires. The workers at the other two Discount Tire didn't know how to fully use the machine so they were unable to program the sensors into the car. The guys here know what they're doing and are always helpful when I come by. read more

Once you walk in first thing they will do is to check your tire thread wear depth. If tire thread depth is 4/32" or less. You will have to buy new tires, Your discount tire warranty won't cover it. I didn't know that, I thought at first if warranty says 50k or 3 years meaning, i won't have to worry about buying new tires till those warranty expires. When i was told that i will have to buy new tires, i was surprise that warranty didn't cover since it was 12k only less then 2 years. Didn't know about thread wear limits since Some of employees at the other discount tire branch didn't explained clearly when i purchased warranty 2 years ago. And was about to have almost same experience with this branch until manager Jacob stepped in. Jacob explained whole thing in very simple humble manner, very clearly. Not only he was helpful but very informative about which tires are better, and how the warranty works on them from tire manufacturers and discount tires. I was literally blown away by the awesome customer service, I received at this location. I used to go to Walmart to get tires, but I had issue with my purchase,so I decided to end my relationship with Walmart and give discount tires a try. I was greeted by an employee when I walk to the door. And I explained to him my problem, and he was ready and willing to help me get the best tire for my car at the best price. Upon walking me in the store, he tested my air pressure and showed me a board which educated me on the reasons for changing your tires.He showed me what to look for ,and how to determine if I needed new tires. Then he took my car and began to work it. It seem like they literally took 10 minutes to finish .The service tech, which was a gentleman walked me out to the door, and actually opened the door and help me put my son child's car seat in. He really went the extra mile. I told him I am so sorry I did not find out about this place early on , and when they told me about the maintenance program and the lifetime replacement plan I really was blown away. He also educated me on how to get the most out of discount tires when I come to visit, and he sent me off as a customer who was sure to return. read more
