I had a low tire and thought that I just needed air. I stopped by there and asked for air. The staff there checked all my tires found a long screw in the tire that had low air. They fixed it for free even tho I told them I didn't buy the tires there. They also did a complete inspection on all my tires, kept me posted and made sure I was doing fine while I was waiting. The job didn't take long. I want to thank all the staff at Discount tires for their kindness!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!! read more

Ordered new set of tires for my truck online. They had them in stock and scheduled an appointment for the next day, Monday. They were packed when I got there. Small wait to check in. Representative was courteous and said they would have them on soon. It took an hour but I was satisfied as the tires were perfectly balanced and off I went. The other thing I like about this store is they offer a free tire rotations and repair (plug) if needed. Also saved $100 for a black Friday special. read more

Terrible customer service. Guys here are rude, no consideration, poor service and poor communication skills. The job didn't get done in a timely manner for they will put you on the bottom list for service. Bias . read more

I had at appointment today at 9:15am. Phillip checked me in, gave me honest options and I was back in my car with (2) new tires in under 45m!! I thought I would need (4) tires, and was prepared to buy them, but Phillip was honest and advised me that only my front tires were bad. He also gave me a free rotation and took the time to explain the importance of rotating tires every 6mos. Great value, service and professionalism! All around amazing! read more

Guys up Front were very friendly and knowledgeable. Great Experience overall. I will definitely be back! Thanks Discount Tire!

Customer service is an art still practiced here. Kaleigh and Phil did a great job of keeping me in the loop during my service visit. They also helped me find a tire with a similar tread pattern for my Slingshot the day before and were able to have it delivered that quickly. Great job! read more

Took vehicle there for a screw in the tire, services was polite and professional. Noticed also my wiper blade had an issue( was in my list to replace, anyway) within an hour and 1/2 tire was patched and wipers replaced. That's why I keep going there is I need tire service. read more

We were out of town and had a blown out on our camper. We had to go to the store each time we changed the tire since we were still camping. Jordan working the front desk helped us and got a person on it right away and met us each time we got to thr store. The price was good as well. I recommend this store! read more

I have been a loyal customer of Discount Tire for over 20 years. I had been thinking about replacing the wheels on my car as whenever we have a 20 degree drop in temperature, I lose tire pressure. That and my old rims were pretty beat up. A week ago I stopped by to have them add air to my tires. Staff members there, descended upon my car like a Nascar pit crew. I had 1 guy checking the tread deptth and two more filling my tires. When I asked what I could do to stop the leaking when the temp drops, the senior staff member told me my options. The best would be to replace the wheels. He just gave me enough ammo to help me convince my wife to agree with the investment. I jumped on their website and a few other competitors and found the wheels I liked best. It just so happened that Discount Tire had the best selection and the best prices, hands down. I bought the set of wheels and made my appointment online. Two days later I got a call from Discount Tires telling me that the wheels came in and confirmed my appointment for today. In less than an hour, I had my new wheels on my car. The staff there is extremely friendly and professional. It was a busy day with lots of customers and they handled all of us with effectiveness, efficiency and class. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Always a good experience at Discount Tire. Even though I'm a long-time DT customer, this Elgin store was a first for me. Had an online appointment, service writer Ivan greeted me on the lot. Quickly bought the new set of Michelin's and got them installed. read more

Fantastic service today getting new tires--quick, easy, and done even faster than promised. I love how the new tires feel on the road. When I bought my last set, I had a small issue, but management took my concerns seriously and made it right. That experience, along with today's, has definitely earned my loyalty. I'm a customer for life! read more

Spoke to a guy on the phone today around 2:40 PM. Super helpful and kind. I really appreciated his time and politeness.

Purchased a tire that was never installed on my car, tried to receive refund, waited 45 minutes and employee DANIEL REFUSED TO GIVE REFUND!!! WAS ALSO CALLED SUSPICIOUS (corporate will hear about this) Even with valid receipt present and invoice matching their own declaring that tire was never installed. Absolutely horrible experience WILL NEVER BE BACK AGAIN. I recommend Chihuahua Tire & Rims in Elgin for quick friendly down to earth service! read more

Mike was the greatest got me in quickly and got me a new tire within an hour. There fantastic! definitely would recommend.

i'm sorry I bought my tires there a couple years ago. They keep trying to sell me stuff when I go in for tire rotation. Today I stopped there because my light came on telling me my rear tire needed air. The guy tried to sell me wiper blades, sensor chips. I'm sorry I even wasted my time stopping there today they told me it would be over 2 1/2 hours to get taken care of and that was after I called this morning and they said I probably would not have a long wait. I will probably never buy tires there again and I have dealt with this company for quite a few years in a couple of cars. I'm done with them. read more

Great service, truly appreciate you guys squeezing us in & the service was so fast. Great price on tires too. My only problem is the young people getting your tire pressure checked for free?!? Seriously you can't learn how to do that??? I mean wow this newest generation is SO fffffffffed if you can't learn something SO simple. Just saying. LOL It's a cool service though for the elderly & disabled etc. read more

Just had an issue with tire pressure while driving on nearby expressway going to work today. Co worker gave me info of location and ran right over. The young guy working, "Israel" was so helpful! Filled that tire & topped off others. Then gave me a lot of info on what could be a potential problem & reminded me to keep an eye on it. Felt much better driving my 30 minute ride home this afternoon. Thank you "Israel"! read more

We have been to this location several times and have never left unsatisfied! We have purchased tires here for a reasonable price. We have had those same tires patched (nails both times) for zero charge. It's nice to purchase a product, nowadays, and have it truly be worry free. Ivan took care of us last time and was super kind and helpful without being condescending. He was sincere and epitomized the service you look for but can't find as much these days. read more

Was a 30 year customer of this chain until today. For the third time, they sold me tires that only lasted 1/2-2/3 of the life they claimed the tire had. That stinks! Why are they recommending and selling crappy tires? I've gone somewhere else..... read more

I was nervous about taking my new Audi to in any other place than Audi but didn't have a choice given the circumstances. The experience I had at Discount Tires in Elgin, was hands down one of the best experiences and almost like a throwback from the late 80s/ 90's when there was self serve at gas station. They take care of you from soup to nuts, and I can't say how much I enjoyed the experience. You're always inclined to only go to the dealer, but in this case I saved money and I had a great experience that made my day. Thanks Rich and the Assist GM read more

Last time I will Ever step foot in discount tire. I've bought all my tires here for years. I needed to pay for the tires with my business card over the phone and they would not accept it. This would be acceptable if they haven't done it the last 5 times I've gotten tires there in a row and now all of a sudden they decide they don't want to because they were closing in 10 minutes read more

Had a rocky start when I arrived. I was a bit shaken - had just changed a tire and arrived about 20mins before their close time. I walked in to one person behind the counter who was on the phone and did not acknowledge me at all. Another employee walked in (Jackson) took a call, acknowledged my presence as he walked back into the shop. Continued to wait another few moments while the other employee got off the phone, when he did he just walked to the garage & mumbled that someone would be out to help - very minimal acknowledgment. I pulled out my phone to see who else was open, as I was about to walk out, Jackson came back and asked if I was being helped. Admittedly I was annoyed & frustrated, I snapped at him a bit - he was kind and gracious. Explained there had been an emergency in the shop earlier in the day and apologized for the experience when I first arrived. He proceeded to assist me, looked into the best options available and was able to get my concerns addressed- quickly, effectively and with a great attitude. He completely turned my bad day around and am sincerely grateful for his kindness and assistance. read more

I got there with the car and sadly more that one tire needed to be replaced. Karl took care finding a bundle to help me with what I needed. I got out with 4 new tires and a spare tire(one tire survived). I was a happy mom with a child and a car with 4 new tires. Thank you guys I highly recommend this place! read more

This place is great! Everyone is very friendly. Waiting in line I heard a wait time of 2-3 hours and started to worry. I got up to the counter and heard 45 mins. - an hour! Bam!!! Make an appointment! Makes all the difference. Also, they just didn't offer water, they walked around and brought water and chocolate treats to everyone in the waiting room. Awesome customer service!!! read more

Other than the 3 hour wait after I came back so I did not have to wait, was happy with their prices and installation. They have a lifetime balance and rotation policy that we will take advantage of and there is plenty within walking distance to do while you wait. If how busy they were is any indication, they are the place to go. Beat others as i called around on our very odd sized tires by about $100, apples to apples. I would recommend. read more

I was at the 875 s Randall rd elgin 60124 store. I was working with Drew Edwards. I'm very skeptical of automotive shops and getting taken advantage of. I called to price my new tire purchase with local shops in the area. Drew was accommodating in meeting their other competitors prices. I was shocked but still skeptical. He seemed honest so I decided to buy my tires with him. I thought I needed 3 new tires and was ready to pay the price when Drew called me over to show me my tires. He pointed out that I only needed 2 tires not 3. This really took me by surprise because I was sure I would eventually get ripped off. He explained he doesn't make commission and he's only interested in my safty by selling me a safe set of tires. He proved this to be true and I believe this now. I will be a loyal customer because of this experience from now on and I will refer my friends and family. read more

Fantastic service. I came in with a nail in my tire and they had my tire fixed and ready to go in just over half an hour. Everyone was welcoming and nice ! I take all 4 of my family vehicles here. Most recently took my old van in for new rims. Very good people and great to work with. Their online appointment system via their website was quick and easy to use. I felt COVID safe during my visit. I was offered a few options at different prices and felt no pressure on my selection. They fixed me up quick and I was in my way. Great experience. read more

For reviews of places like this that are not by where I live, I ask myself what I would want to know if I was in this town and had some sort of tire emergency. That said, I rolled in, they checked the damaged tire and confirmed that it needed to go, they got one of the same make as I already had and did not try to oversell me a pair. I read their magazines, got on the road 90 minutes later, and paid the right price for the tire I bought. I am not trying to make buying an emergency tire seem like an exciting transcendent experience, but it was a fair and satisfying given that this was not a planned purchase. read more

Can't think of any negatives. I have always priced tires before I buy and they are always in line. Great quick service as well. Just took my wife's car in for a leaky tire. Turns out there was a nail in one and a leaking seal around the rim of another tire. They fixed both, rotated and charged me ZERO because I bought the tires there (about two years ago). I will certainly return there with my car before winter for 4 new ones. read more
