Visited this business today due to a flat tire at 5:10pm. The front window "open" sign was lighted (as you can see in the photo). Walked inside the store and was this employee (dressed with a green sweater with a hoodie) counting money on the front desk. I explained the situation and all I wanted is a quick check to know if I could get home. In a very rude manner he replied "we are closed". I asked again if he can please do an exemption and please take a look and he replied "I already shut down the compressor... learn how to read the sign" and I replied: "the sign said you're open!" Unbelievable the mistreatment at this business by this man. Previously, my wife visited this location and had a quote pending for both our cars but definitely we will go to another place to replace our tires. read more

It use to be good - but last few years it has completely gone down hill. I got my Camshaft cover replaced March of 22 - they broke the piece as they installed it but still sent me on my way, saying it was fixed. 8 months later - it is leaking again and they tell me it has to replaced and quote me again. I make an appointment then when I got home, looked up my invoice - saw it was fixed that spring & called. Oh - they see that and they will fix it for free. This time, they dropped the bolts into the engine and only master mechanics can get them. Two days later - they are able to finish fixing it and over 3 hours after fixed - per invoice- I actually walked there to see car fixed. I get car and for next week I smell exhaust- strongly- when I drive. They forgot to close the exhaust clamp and the airbox was loose. When I called the 1-800 number - I was told smelling exhaust wasn't anything to worry about. When I mentioned a friend of mine who lives in another state but has been working for Firestone as a mechanic for about 25 years would let me know if it was safe - he agreed it wasn't the safest. Now, another 8 months later, a new location says it is broken again - and wants to charge me again. Also - when I asked them to check the engine light - they told me it would take 3-4 hours to check and fix it. It was fixed in 15 minutes - 20 if you include checking the code and buying the part needed. read more

Great service! I was about 60 miles away from home. I got a screw in my tire in a parking lot down the street. The guys said they would fix it for me, it would just be a little while. They were busy! Terry Ray at the service desk has great customer service! I first went to Pep Boys and they were horrible. Not knowing the area I seen Firestone and went inside. I would definitely recommend them! I had all the front end suspension & brakes replaced by a shade tree mechanic. When I got it back I was having unusual ABS problems. Took it to Firestone cause they're close. Kuba, master technician performed a brake diagnostic and found one of the speed sensors cocked, thereby providing faulty data to the ABS computer. He fixed the sensor and voila, no more ABS shenanigans! I was just about done using this joint because of their rigid policy's, guess I'll give them another chance! Kudo's to Kuba! read more

As long as Hector is here, this will be my family's go-to auto shop. We had been loyalists of the Firestone on Roselle and Wise, but after moving here about a year ago, this Firestone is right around the corner. I have been here on a couple of occasions recently, and they have always been friendly and honest. Recently, I brought in my Pathfinder to find that my rear brakes (less than 2 years old, less than 30k miles) were completely shot because of insufficient greasing, causing them to stick to the rotors even when they weren't being applied. Instead of having me take it back to the Roselle/Wise location, Hector honored the warranty and got me on my way. He even comped my oil change for the inconvenience. I arrived at 715 am. Flats take a half hour. I bought $2,500 in tires and warranties the last 18 months for multiple cars and also a lifetime alignment for additional money. The other two stores in the area were contacted-- one in person the other by phone, one 3 hours plus. The other one hour plus minimum with no one waiting at the store. I used to work at a corporate firestone in the mid to late 90's in a major city. I was a mechanic and we had a tire tech who only worked on tires for every shift. We kept a bay open so we would be able to handle any tire sale or repair. This shows you care about the customer but also your tire/ service reputation regarding your number one product "tires". Firestone in the training I had in the mid to late 90's said that their main concern was tires because you guessed it they make TIRES. The three stores are mismanaged or badly trained or forgot their initial training. They should have customer service, time management and prioritization concepts retaught. Update: while the service was questionable at first and only worth two stars. Daniel fixed alot of issues when I called back and made a good effort at ensuring me that his stores issues that one time were not a common practice. So I would give them a second chance.. Dropped my car off at 3pm on Monday for an oil change they said it will be ready by 6:30pm that night. At 6:25pm I got a call they will need to keep my car over night as they have not started it. I was hesitant to leave my car there, but did as they said it will be ready at 10am the next morning. I didn't receive a call saying otherwise the next day so I went to pick it up and when I walked in they informed me my cars oil change hasn't even been started. I understand car maintenance businesses are busy in the winter, but don't promise if you cannot deliver! This was my go to place since moving to this area, but not anymore! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I live close by so it would have been great to have a car place less than a mile away to walk home while repairs are being done. BUT THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. Last time I had issues with them telling me to come in on specific day/time to change out a taillight and then when I arrived, I was told I need to make another appointment to have the bulb swapped out. This was frustrating. However, I needed new tires, and this was the most convenient place to go, so I thought I'd try again. BIG MISTAKE. I called on Tuesday, spoke a rep on the phone, ordered the tires, and I was told to drop it off on Friday at 9am and that it would take about 3 hours. I walked home and waited. At 150pm I called to see what was going on and the man who answered the phone said, "yeah we're just pulling your car in now, we'll call you when it's done, we got backed up." No one called me to let me know, no apologies, nothing... but okay. I wait. At 3:20pm I call again, and this time Terrance tells me they are just pulling it in, and it will be done in a few hours. I tried explaining to Terrance, that I've been getting the runaround all day and told him this is ridiculous to keep people waiting all day and lie about when it will be done, with no one bothering to inform me, he kept talking OVER me and then proceeds to put me on hold. After he gets back on the phone he says, "Can you hear me now?" He put me on hold to shut me up. I'm guessing the CEO of Firestone wouldn't appreciate the customer service here. I walked back there and got my car and told them to F-off. I'll take my business elsewhere and I will continue to tell everyone to find another place for their car business. And I'm not a Karen, I just don't appreciate getting dicked around and treated like a piece of crap. read more

I made an appointment online to save the hassle of extra waiting. When I got there for my time the place was packed, which is good because that means people trust them, but bad because that may mean I'll be spending my day here. I had scheduled online for multiple things, but because of time I chose just to have my oil changed. The tiny waiting area was crowded and WARM. I'm not going to lie, I am horribly impatient with things like this, but I read on my Kindle and my car was done in about 45 minutes. The employee I dealt with was super nice and polite, even though I changed my services and I'm sure sounded like an impatient pain in the you know what. I kept thanking him for being so helpful, which he was. I'm kind of bummed there's no express "you made an appointment and am willing to slip the mechanic a $20 for faster service" line. I'd definitely take advantage. I'm definitely one of those people who doesn't mind paying more for better service and experience. Overall though, this place was pretty good. Posting on behalf of family. Yesterday an appointment was made for 8AM today to have a TPMS (tire pressure sensor) looked at and reset. When she gets there today at 8AM they say a tech won't be in until 10 to look at it. So she is going up to ask for her car to leave (~8:15AM). Now magically someone is already "working" on the car (interesting that someone was already working on it and they had asked for a 2 hr window, hmm). Now the car is finished in reasonable time for $21.99, but they fail to mention mid repair that both front TMPS sensors were bad (so really what's was the point reseting it.). Added to the list was a bad battery, maybe.. but the battery on the dash isn't lighting up, but sure maybe it's going bad already after being replaced last year... anywho, just an experience, take it at face value. read more

Being the busy lady I am, I'll randomly come across a day that I have a bit of time and realize that I need an oil change. This place often takes my car within an hour of my stopping in or calling. They honestly tell me if they don't have time to service my car that day, so I don't spend time waiting around with no car. That said, sometimes they'll call me after I've left and tell me about some kind of maintenance that needs repair, which will take longer. I'm grateful my car continues to run with their help. I had been going here for quite a few years. I have tried others for convenience reasons but always go back to Barrington and Bode. Very friendly. Very knowledgeable Very accommodating and won't SCREW you or tell you that things are needed if they really aren't !! Give 'em a try. You won't be sorry!! I go there my kids go there and now my grandson is going there!!!so it's all in the family!! Bit of an update. Bought snow tires there less than a month ago but found out there might have been a rebate of $70 ending this week. I never got a rebate and it was from the maker not firestone. I called to see when I replaced battery and told dec of 2017. I was told it was covered under warranty for free and can come pick it up (of course bringing old one in). No no no, this place is terrible. I went in for tires, simple..right? Leaving the shop 1st time, coincidentally BOTH wheel bearing just went bad in the shop. Rolled in with no noises, left with vibrations and noise. They're response is, bring it in. Well they don't appreciate my time, they just complained how much time it cost them. I brought the car back in and paid $500 for new wheel bearings, then had to bring it back in again after getting two other shops verifying the bearing was installed wrong. I brought it back a third time and the bearing is still bad. I had the car there 3 times with no resolution. It will take a fourth! 3x in their shop and I leave now my exhaust pipe is broken...either they did it or didn't notice the broken hangers. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. read more

I really like the end product of the experience I had here, but not the execution. But I will try to overlook it because the people at this place aren't as "sheister"-y as they are at other places!! I called on a Thursday to make an appointment on Saturday to drop the car off for one tire change (we had a flat) and an oil change. He said it would take about 45 minutes. So I said we would be back after breakfast for the car at 9;30, just to give them a little leeway. I was told this was no problem. So you can understand my utter confusion when my husband came out of the shop saying the car wouldn't be ready until 1 pm. We would have already been out of town by then, so that was NOT feesible. Turns out they talked my husband into changing two tires, the oil change, this check, realigning, etc. etc. etc. Um, no thanks. If that is all that necessary, we will do it at another juncture. Started coming here a few years ago when switched from another independent neighborhood place. They are always super fast and efficient. Even gave me a ride home while my car was being worked on. Sometimes it is hard to trust a mechanic but Jose has always been very up front about costs and always takes time to explain things so I understand. These guys have gone above and beyond a couple times. They'll do whatever it takes to service luxury cars (with "special" tools and such) and the mechanics are really good and communicate well. Always translates into savings vs dealership service. Only problem is no loaners, but they'll give you a ride if you can't wait. Wait times can be long, but the price is fair. Ex.
