It's been more than 10 years I think since I started going to Car-One Auto and Tire, and so I thought it was time to update my review. Even though I live nearly an hour away, I still will go to them for all my auto repair needs (except oil changes, but even then if I can make it happen I'll go to Car One). There is almost no company or business I can think of that is better at customer service. If I was to right a dissertation on a PHD for "What makes a small business great" it would be about these guys. 1. They never lie to me. I trust them so much that I literally tell them "yes" to anything they say needs to be done to my car. This is due to them building up trust with me over the years to where I don't need to think about if they are trying to rip me off or not. They can see this review, so next time they see me, they COULD rip me off but I know they won't. 2. The customer service skills - they always seem to remember who I am the moment I say my name, even if I have not talked to them in over a year. Now, look at the attached picture. They literally filled out my mail-in-rebate for the tires I got from them. They even included the stamp!! They didn't have to do it, but they offered it without me asking and took care of it for me. 3. Loyalty. Read the other reviews on here. There is one guy who says he drives from Des Moines, IA because he refuses to go anywhere else. That's what it means to be loyal to a business. In Summary - there's no one better out there to work on your car. If you don't go here, it's your loss. read more

Car One has excellent customer service. They are very efficient and their prices are very fair. They will not up sell you. They will do recommendations but do not push you to do the service. They are very friendly. 100% recommend. read more

If you want great honest service, this is the best shop! Years ago, I took my car to a different shop and they told me my front end needed a lot of work. went to see "the boys" and got an honest answer for a boatload less. I've been a loyal customer since shortly after they opened the shop! read more

Honest and Best Repair Shop around , owner and front desk always willing to work and explain your repair ! Great fair prices and done in a timely matter ! Mechanic's call me with the issue and provide a price for repair before work is done, and not a 10 page repair list of suggested work ,like a dealership! I have an older vehicle and the went out of their way to find parts ! 100% recommended ! read more

When you move to West Des Moines, IA but refuse to have your vehicle serviced by anyone else that you make the 5 hour drive to Hoffman Estates, IL and have Frank, Dave, Joel and the entire Car-One Auto guys and girls work on your vehicle... that's how much I trust this shop and Frank and Dave... read more

This place was great in a pinch. We were 45 minutes away from home and our car started shaking badly accompanied by the check engine light flashing. There were two places we were in between going to and we are so happy we chose this place! They were so kind and helpful, our car was back in working condition within two hours. Honest people with fair prices from what we experienced! Thank you Car-One guys! read more

Frank and Jr are a great team. Always kind, honest and flexible. I recommend them to anyone I know needing a reliable car repair team.

Quick, honest repairs. Great specials. My new "go to" auto service shop. Wish I had tried this shop earlier.

I purchased 4 tires for my car and they advised me that they would be happy to rotate tires regularly as I wish for free. However, whenever I brought my car for the tire rotation, they insisted that better tires had to be in the rear at all time for safety reason. Since my car is a front wheel drive, the front tires lose always more threads than the rear tires, they have never rotate the tires (but insisted to replace the tires after 4 years because they are getting crack.... Where?) I had to bring my car to different repair shops for the tire rotation for $24 to save the tires. They sure act nice but please do not be fooled, are well trained to take advantage of you! read more

I've used Car One since Frank, Dave and Bob opened the shop. They have always serviced all 5 of our cars well - they correctly diagnose the problem, call us if the price is expected to be higher than expected for our approval, and complete the repair as quickly as they can. I can't recommend them enough for the quality of service they've given my family. read more

Recently, the alternator on my 2012 Kia Sorento gave up the ghost and decided to take the battery down with it. After the initial shock of imagining I'd have to rent a car for some indeterminate time period while trying to get it fixed wore off, I made a call to Bob at Car one since they did a great job fixing a major engine oil leak on this car last September. I was worried that they wouldn't be able to get to my repair that day (Saturdays are always busy time at any good mechanic shop), but Bob set my mind at ease that it would get done. He also arranged for the tow service from my location, which was very helpful. Later that afternoon, the car was fixed and ready to roll. Couldn't ask for a better solution to a stressful event. Thanks to Bob and everyone over at Car One in Hoffman Estates! read more

I've gone here for a couple of tire related emergencies and the service was excellent! They are friendly and knowledgeable and go above and beyond to help. read more

Friendly quick service. Fair prices. Good quality. Clean bright waiting room. It's always crowded, which is a good sign.

I have known Bob and Dave when they were at another Goodyear store. These guys always without fail deliver the absolute best in auto repair. They actually go above and beyond to fix things right the first time and every time. It is so good knowing I have a group of trusted mechanics and auto repair store for my needs. I can modestly state I have not seen a better auto repair shop deliver better service then Car One Tire and Auto and its the employees of this business that make it a great business. Keep up the great work! read more

Great guys and they are upfront and honest. Will give you a quick quote and won't beat around the bush about it. If they need to order something that is exactly what they need to do. Quality work. read more

Took my car to get 4 tires installed that I had purchased and made my appointment the owner was so nice and told me would need my car for two hours. They did a great job on my car and it was done in two hours as promised. Great prices and great customer service! I recommend anyone looking for great customer service experience come here! read more

It's easy to see how these guys achieved 5 stars. Top shelf service. Car One was recommended to me by my sister and it was recommended to her by her boss who has all the good recommendations. I called in. Bob answered. Told me to swing buy so he could take a look. I showed up. Everyone was compliant with the state's covid guidelines. Bob gave me fantastic advice when selecting the perfect tires for my 4Runner. While I was there I had them test the battery and and replace the head lamps. What impressed me is that they were done early. All I had to do was sign on the dotted line because they had six months same as cash. There was 225 dollar rebate. Bob filled out all the paperwork for the rebate. Addressed the envelope, threw a stamp on it and sealed it all before I got there. All I have to do is drop it in the mail. I appreciate the attention to detail and service. Definitely go see Bob at Car-One read more

I hope not to do this again but I put diesel in our Subaru so I had the tow truck tow the car to Car-One on a sunday. We have been customers of Frank, Joel, Jason when they were with Goodyear in Roselle and we followed them to their new location. Cannot let go of a great group of guys who know what they're doing and they're not going to rip you off. They worked on our car for hours and we got it back around 2-3pm on a Monday. Gave us information on what they did on the Subaru and now its running fine. Anything and everything you need done on your car, this is the place. I apologize, I forgot to mention the dude who actually fixed our Subaru, Alex!! Great job! read more

I have been going to Car-One for many many years. They ALLWAYS provide a solid honest answer to what needs to be fixed and when. I have spent hours confirming what they are suggesting and what it will cost and I do my research and they are spot on. I don't always like what it costs to maintain cars, but it is part of ownership. I am sure you can always find someone that can do anything cheaper. But you can't find someone that is consistent with the best value over the long haul. read more

Dave, Bob and Frank are the BEST! Great service with honest price! I've been taking all my cars to Car One and have recommended my family, friends and neighbors to take their cars in for ANY repair/service. Very knowledgeable crew!!! Awesome customer service!!! Very competitive price! read more

Came here to get an oil change and to have my car thermostat looked at since the car was blowing out cool air when it's set to hot. Service was friendly and courteous. Call ahead to make an appointment for the oil change that way you don't have to wait. Standard oil change rates. Check their website for coupons or sign up with email to get specials. The place is under new ownership from what they told me so give them a try. My thermostat needs to be replaced. Gonna cost me $200. Might have to layer up until I have extra money to get it fixed. Update 12/27/13: Came back to get my thermostat replaced. They did a great job. Dropped me off at home and offered to pick me up once it was done. Don't forget about their coupon. read more

Frank, Dave & their employees have been my mechanics since they were in roselle. When they moved I followed. The only mechanics i trust to work on my vehicles. My family and friends take their cars & trucks there as well. When you find someone that actually cares about you and not just about your money you can trust them and keep telling more people about them. Keep up the great job. read more

Well this is my second review on this place. The last review was 5 stars as well. Again....you can't go wrong with this place. After my last review, I was contacted by my little brother's good friend Aleks and said that he works at this same location. This is just another reason why I would return to this place. Aleks, the son of hard working Polish immigrants (tell me one Polish immigrant that does not work hard) is a great kid who always has been honest and fair. Good kid that is currently taking automotive classes at Triton College which is known for having a good automotive program. I returned a few days ago to get another oil change (I am an uber driver so I need to get my oil changed every few weeks) and replace a flat tire that was badly damaged the night before. They did both and did a fantastic job. Again....honesty, fairness, and good people. Please come here. Also there are coupons for this. Just check your mail. read more

What great customer service!!! I needed new windshield wipers so I go over to Firestone (it was closer more convenient for me) and they told me (at the very end) I couldn't buy their windshield wipers unless I paid for the service to go with it, thanks for wasting my time! So I go over to Car-One and they were extremely nice let me buy the wipers and offered to throw them on for me because Firestone sucks. So thank you for that, you guys are great! read more

Very honest and low cost. Brought my van for an oil change/rotation and asked them to check out a noise I was hearing in the rear of the van. Turns out it was the jack assembly which had come loose. The visit cost $25 with no cost to find or fix the noise issue. This is my second good experience there and will be my go to place. read more

Great Service- Great Staff. - good and fair! estimates match the final pricing Highly recommend!

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I have to be honest, I don't know the first thing about cars, and every time I walk into a repair place I just feel like I'm gonna get ripped off! Not at Car-One. They were honest and fair and will definitely be back for my car's maintenance and repairs. read more

I've had 2 sets of tires from them with no problems. Pleasant to deal with with no hype to purchase anything extra.

We have been servicing our cars at Car-One Tire Auto for about a year and every time Bob and the crew gives us an excellent service. Unlike some other service shops, they have won our trust by being honest and fair with their repair offers and prices. Car-One Tire Auto is number one in the area and the best in Chicagoland of all other shops I had my cars serviced at. Thank you for being so trustworthy, providing quick and quality service! read more

Extremely friendly service at a great price. They didn't try to upsell me on a bunch of work that didn't need to be done, or take advantage of my lack of knowledge. They even addressed the envelope for me for my tire rebate! I will definitely be back and would highly recommend them to everyone! read more

Last week we took my car in for repairs. This was the first time we used Car One and it definitely won't be the last. They did a great job on my car and were both kind and professional. It's hard to find good mechanics. And they sent us a thank you card. That's unheard of these days and much appreciated. Thank you Frank and staff. read more

This is the best Auto repair and maintenance shop in the area! The service is amazing. They are welcoming, sincere, friendly, and honest. They also have a clean and large waiting area. I would not take my car somewhere else after all my great experiences in maintenance and repair there. read more

Theses guys are the best. Had some issues which both cars and they where able to get them fix. They are very friendly and the prices are good. read more

Pretty much the worst time for car trouble is on the way to the airport. Out of panic, we called the nearest mechanic with good reviews and were not disappointed. They diagnosed the issue, replace the broken belt and had us back on the road within an hour for a reasonable price. And they had plenty on hand to entertain our toddler and preschooler. Very friendly and attentive staff and clean bathrooms. We wouldn't hesitate to go back. read more

Frank and Dave are the best mechanics i ever dealt with. My friend was their client for like 15-20 years or so, that's how i got to know them. They did a lot of work on my 86 Vette and I always had a feeling that they're honest with me and willing to help. I came to their shop with a hard to diagnose problem with fuel/air system and they would do all sorts of tests for free until they found out what needed to be done. I had a feeling that they were actually trying to help, not just ripping me off like others do. They didn't mind spending some extra time and explain me technical stuff in a friendly way. They also have a HUGE expertise in the field, servicing different cars for like 30 or 40 years, so they would rather narrow down the problem and solve it and leave you happy instead of studying mechanics for your money by replacing everything without knowing the real cause, as some young rookies from other shops do. I was also surprised when they stopped me from doing some additional work when they knew it was not necessary and would not solve the problem (i think it was fuel filter). This is being honest. They used to work in Roselle Good year shop, but recently opened this one and took good part of the team with them. I will definitely come back and recommend them to my friends. read more

CAR-ONE TIRE & AUTO - Auto Repair Near Me - Hoffman Estates, Illinois

We think we found a home for our cars when repairs are needed. This repair shop is under new management and ownership. We met Frank who is courteous and friendly. He seems to know his stuff, and comes across as honest. Check out their website it has coupons too, we were originally quoted $108 for an alignment at one shop here at car one using the coupon we paid $59. They did a great job we will bring our cars in for future business. read more

Same as others. I got the impression that they are trustworthy mechanics. I have seen mechanics are usually trying to rip you off in any way they can. These guys don't (i think). Anyway, for now i give them 5 stars..... read more

Came here due to the positive yelp reviews and awful noise my car was making from the front left tire area. Turns out I had a shoddy tire rotation done at Costco the week prior and they didn't torque down the lugs on the two front tires. Luckily my tire hasn't fallen off...yet. They got my car into the garage immediately and I was out of there within 30 minutes. Nice, large waiting area. Charge for their services was way more than fair and after insisting I should pay more he refused to take it and just asked that I become a regular customer. I will definitely be taking my auto repair needs here in the future. read more

Impressed with customer service I received. Brought my car in do to squeaky breaks. Frank and his team determined that it was the front break pads. The tech cleaned and lubricated the breaks in the back as well. I will definitely return for future service on both of my vehicles. Top notch service. Thank you! read more
