It's been more than 10 years I think since I started going to Car-One Auto and Tire, and so I thought it was time to update my review. Even though I live nearly an hour away, I still will go to them for all my auto repair needs (except oil changes, but even then if I can make it happen I'll go to Car One). There is almost no company or business I can think of that is better at customer service. If I was to right a dissertation on a PHD for "What makes a small business great" it would be about these guys. 1. They never lie to me. I trust them so much that I literally tell them "yes" to anything they say needs to be done to my car. This is due to them building up trust with me over the years to where I don't need to think about if they are trying to rip me off or not. They can see this review, so next time they see me, they COULD rip me off but I know they won't. 2. The customer service skills - they always seem to remember who I am the moment I say my name, even if I have not talked to them in over a year. Now, look at the attached picture. They literally filled out my mail-in-rebate for the tires I got from them. They even included the stamp!! They didn't have to do it, but they offered it without me asking and took care of it for me. 3. Loyalty. Read the other reviews on here. There is one guy who says he drives from Des Moines, IA because he refuses to go anywhere else. That's what it means to be loyal to a business. I purchased 4 tires for my car and they advised me that they would be happy to rotate tires regularly as I wish for free. However, whenever I brought my car for the tire rotation, they insisted that better tires had to be in the rear at all time for safety reason. Since my car is a front wheel drive, the front tires lose always more threads than the rear tires, they have never rotate the tires (but insisted to replace the tires after 4 years because they are getting crack.... Where?) I had to bring my car to different repair shops for the tire rotation for $24 to save the tires. They sure act nice but please do not be fooled, are well trained to take advantage of you! read more

Recently, the alternator on my 2012 Kia Sorento gave up the ghost and decided to take the battery down with it. After the initial shock of imagining I'd have to rent a car for some indeterminate time period while trying to get it fixed wore off, I made a call to Bob at Car one since they did a great job fixing a major engine oil leak on this car last September. I was worried that they wouldn't be able to get to my repair that day (Saturdays are always busy time at any good mechanic shop), but Bob set my mind at ease that it would get done. He also arranged for the tow service from my location, which was very helpful. Later that afternoon, the car was fixed and ready to roll. Couldn't ask for a better solution to a stressful event. It's easy to see how these guys achieved 5 stars. Top shelf service. Car One was recommended to me by my sister and it was recommended to her by her boss who has all the good recommendations. I called in. Bob answered. Told me to swing buy so he could take a look. I showed up. Everyone was compliant with the state's covid guidelines. Bob gave me fantastic advice when selecting the perfect tires for my 4Runner. While I was there I had them test the battery and and replace the head lamps. What impressed me is that they were done early. All I had to do was sign on the dotted line because they had six months same as cash. There was 225 dollar rebate. Bob filled out all the paperwork for the rebate. Addressed the envelope, threw a stamp on it and sealed it all before I got there. All I have to do is drop it in the mail. I hope not to do this again but I put diesel in our Subaru so I had the tow truck tow the car to Car-One on a sunday. We have been customers of Frank, Joel, Jason when they were with Goodyear in Roselle and we followed them to their new location. Cannot let go of a great group of guys who know what they're doing and they're not going to rip you off. They worked on our car for hours and we got it back around 2-3pm on a Monday. Gave us information on what they did on the Subaru and now its running fine. Anything and everything you need done on your car, this is the place. I needed new windshield wipers so I go over to Firestone (it was closer more convenient for me) and they told me (at the very end) I couldn't buy their windshield wipers unless I paid for the service to go with it, thanks for wasting my time! Came here to get an oil change and to have my car thermostat looked at since the car was blowing out cool air when it's set to hot. Service was friendly and courteous. Call ahead to make an appointment for the oil change that way you don't have to wait. Standard oil change rates. Check their website for coupons or sign up with email to get specials. The place is under new ownership from what they told me so give them a try. My thermostat needs to be replaced. Gonna cost me $200. Might have to layer up until I have extra money to get it fixed. Update 12/27/13: Came back to get my thermostat replaced. They did a great job. Dropped me off at home and offered to pick me up once it was done. Don't forget about their coupon. read more

Well this is my second review on this place. The last review was 5 stars as well. Again....you can't go wrong with this place. After my last review, I was contacted by my little brother's good friend Aleks and said that he works at this same location. This is just another reason why I would return to this place. Aleks, the son of hard working Polish immigrants (tell me one Polish immigrant that does not work hard) is a great kid who always has been honest and fair. Good kid that is currently taking automotive classes at Triton College which is known for having a good automotive program. I returned a few days ago to get another oil change (I am an uber driver so I need to get my oil changed every few weeks) and replace a flat tire that was badly damaged the night before. Very honest and low cost. Brought my van for an oil change/rotation and asked them to check out a noise I was hearing in the rear of the van. Turns out it was the jack assembly which had come loose. The visit cost $25 with no cost to find or fix the noise issue. This is my second good experience there and will be my go to place. read more

Pretty much the worst time for car trouble is on the way to the airport. Out of panic, we called the nearest mechanic with good reviews and were not disappointed. They diagnosed the issue, replace the broken belt and had us back on the road within an hour for a reasonable price. And they had plenty on hand to entertain our toddler and preschooler. Frank and Dave are the best mechanics i ever dealt with. My friend was their client for like 15-20 years or so, that's how i got to know them. They did a lot of work on my 86 Vette and I always had a feeling that they're honest with me and willing to help. I came to their shop with a hard to diagnose problem with fuel/air system and they would do all sorts of tests for free until they found out what needed to be done. I had a feeling that they were actually trying to help, not just ripping me off like others do. They didn't mind spending some extra time and explain me technical stuff in a friendly way. They also have a HUGE expertise in the field, servicing different cars for like 30 or 40 years, so they would rather narrow down the problem and solve it and leave you happy instead of studying mechanics for your money by replacing everything without knowing the real cause, as some young rookies from other shops do. I was also surprised when they stopped me from doing some additional work when they knew it was not necessary and would not solve the problem (i think it was fuel filter). This is being honest. They used to work in Roselle Good year shop, but recently opened this one and took good part of the team with them. I will definitely come back and recommend them to my friends. read more

Came here due to the positive yelp reviews and awful noise my car was making from the front left tire area. Turns out I had a shoddy tire rotation done at Costco the week prior and they didn't torque down the lugs on the two front tires. Luckily my tire hasn't fallen off...yet. They got my car into the garage immediately and I was out of there within 30 minutes. Nice, large waiting area. Charge for their services was way more than fair and after insisting I should pay more he refused to take it and just asked that I become a regular customer.
