Went to Bee Cave location because closer then the one on Slaughter. Came in with my new SUV ( now 4 years old) and had a nail in the middle of the tire. Asked if they could fix it and the guy said yes. We went back inside and he brought the car up which also came up with someone else's name, the previous owner of my car for the last four years. He came around and called me by the other woman's name and said it was time to get new tires and proceeded to tell me it would be $1100 for four new tires. Embarrassed for him, I specifically agreed I will be needing new tires but also told him that was not me and I'm not able to get new tires tonight. I said I may do that here soon maybe 2 new ones this weekend because I know some are a little low tred right now. He didn't really care or like that answer and finally brought my name up to confirm who I was and said I would have to wait a while and it will be done in an hour and a half. Finally, he called my name and said they could not repair it, the hole was too big and if I wanted two or four tires today? Stunned, I told him again that I cannot get new tires today and even told him again. I have relied on DT on Slaughter for over 15 years, not this location in Bee Cave, and they have always delivered, nails in tires you name it. He began to tell me they were putting my spare on right now. In shock, I went outside and the mechanic asked me if I was waiting for a new tire and I replied no that I did not want new tires today. Still in complete shock, I had to leave there with a smaller wheel and a thin spare. I went directly to Firestone in OakHill Austin driving slowly, paid their $30 and they fixed my tire with a bigger plug but they said it was fine and ready to go. Unbelievable! I got my wheel and tire (practically new) back, sigh of relief! Will now never buy any tires from DISCOUNT TIRE BEE CAVE which I was going to do this weekend. Shocked and stunned, DT, you have earned my family's business for over 10 years. My son even worked at the Slaughter location for 2 years and was a supervisor. Not sure if I can even rely on the Slaughter location now either?? Will go somewhere else maybe to Costco instead for my new tires (they have good maintenance for five years, worth it and they care). Sorry old reliable Slaughter Discount Tire, but your inconsiderate, uncaring, greedy salesman in Bee Cave caused this to happen! read more

I started my day with my tire pressure light coming on, but this time it said a specific tire, well I made the trip to discount tire because they are super helpful and have the free tire pressure check. A lot of the time it is just my tire sensors, well unfortunately today my tire had a screw in it so the tire pressure check ended up being a fix tire visit, which was no charge. They were clearly busy but fit me in, which I'm so grateful for, I live over 30 minutes away and I'm just lucky the tire made it there. They staff here always give great customer service and are my go to place for tires. read more

So, tires have the been the story of my life. I have never had a vehicle that I didn't need to replace a flat tire for some reason or another. This review is a little late. I was there a couple of weeks ago because I needed one tire (thank you stimulus check!) and the snow was about to come to Austin. I pulled up around 5:00pm ; they close at 6. I waited for about 10-minutes for an associate to come out to my car. Because of COVID, you stay in your car at the entrance to the store parking lot and tell them why you are there. Associate finally comes out and says "it'll be about 30-45 minutes." I said that's fine. I just needed one tire. He takes the information and gets me on the list. Oh! I didn't have an appointment. After getting my information he points me in the direction of a parking space to park and wait and said someone would be out to get all my vehicle information. No sooner did I park and start up the game in my phone, another associate (Joseph, I think) comes up, greets me and gets my information. Asked me if I had a tire in mind, told him I was cheap and then looks at the tire that went flat. He says, "we have those, do you want the same one". I did. He says a tech will be out in about 15 minutes to pull my car in. Again, starting up my game and BOOM there is the tech. He instructs me to park in front of the bay directly behind the vehicle in the bay. I get out. He changes the tire, put the spare in the truck and I'm out. Time? 5:30PM No hassle about getting the "best tire on the market". Quick check out at the register. Quick replacement. Friendly guys in every area. Thanks, guys!! Visit these guys! Great service and competitive tire prices. I recommend getting the "insurance ", called certificates on your tires. Already had three or four tires comped because of premature wear, unrepairable tire, etc. Also with any purchase you get lifetime balancing and rotation on those tires. I found myself driving on a "run flat" in 5 o'clock traffic on RR 620, navigating through a traffic accident and stressing not only dealing with a flat tire, but also how I would handle being stranded and have to cancel an important business networking event downtown. The Discount Tire store in Bee Cave took my car in right at closing and fixed my shredded tire in 30 minutes! They were so professional, and took me in without any attitude, despite obviously running behind on at least four other jobs in front of me. And I made my event! Incredible service! Unfortunately had to buy a new $250 tire b/c a teeny tiny screw punctured the sidewall (barely) so it could not be plugged. The staff here were are really friendly and attentive. Had the tire in stock. Gave me a small discount as I've been a loyal customer of DT for over 20 years. The wait time (about 25 minutes) was SIGNIFICANTLY less than at all other DTs I've been to. Wow! Always forget to balance tires. Workers rushing to get to next car in and out. Reservation doesn't work because you are there for 2 hours with or without reservations. You have to ask twice or you have to go back and wait around to re-balance over and over. I WILL TRY DIFFERENT TIRE COMPANY. read more

I called Discount Tire because my tire had a slow leak. They got me in the same day for a 2:30 appt. Everything is contactless for Covid precautions. You wait in the car for someone to come over and get your info. When it is your turn you drive right into the bay and they work on your tire with you in the car. I think you can wait inside as well, I opted to stay in my car. The employees are very friendly, fast and efficient. They work hard to get everyone in and out in a timely manner while it is a million degrees in the bay where they are working. 100% recommend for their customer service. read more

David from Bee Cave Discount Tires called me following a complaint I had made at the time of my service to replace all 4 tires for a 2003 Lincoln Town car. I expressed my concern relative to inspection of my vehicle prior to the actual service. It seems that my cap on the right-front wheel was missing prior to service, yet I was not informed before the new tires were installed. David assured me that he would speak to staff that an inspection of any vehicle and any discrepancy would be brought to the attention of the owner of the vehicle prior to installation of tires. My first visit here. I bought new all-terrain tires for my F-250. I shopped around and this was a good price. I didn't have an appointment so I had to wait 1.5 hrs for job to be done. When I got the truck back, Ivan checked and double checked the work and receipt and made sure all was good. I will have no problem going back for oil changes etc.. A real plus for me was the great music they played while waiting. Restrooms and drinking fountain available but no coffee. read more

Each time I've gone the service has been top notch. First off, none of the locations I've been to appear to be understaffed. They have a ton of employees all working their tails off. The phone communication, the friendly welcome as I walk in the door, to the helpful guidance in showing me my options for tires and pricing, has been impeccable. While they always look busy, they handle high customer volume with grace and make sure they always acknowledge customers and level set expectations of your wait time with their waiting list app. Every time I've come in they have guaranteed the service would be done in less than an hour and they stay true to their word! Came in after calling ahead and describing what I needed to a chap named Brian. I had recently purchased a car that had sat on blocks to preserve it for a few years. The car ended up breaking down far from home and I was unable to repair it on the scene because of a strategically placed security lug nut. ALL the other lugs were exactly what Discount Tire uses everyday (12mm chrome). The car was towed home and repaired once I secured the correct lug key from the previous owner. Thankfully, I had a four way lug wrench on the ranch to expedite the repair as said rogue nut didn't even fit the factory wrench provided with the car. Small things happen when you purchase a car like this. Think almost barn find from California with rims and tires from America's Tire (I have the original receipt). This is where this branch went flat. Like freeway BLOWOUT with no spare. Upon arrival, speaking with another tire nerd only asking for 4 lug nuts to be changed plus: "PLEASE TORQUE WRENCH the front right rim for SAFTEY" as I had that rim off while making the repair. They noticed the tires were older than they recommend. PLENTY of tread remain on these tires. NO weather cracks like Texas tires do. After having a hernia, vasetcomy, hydrocele surgery in October where I couldn't lift an apple fritter followed by a Heart Attack in December they refused to do anything except sell me the lugs nuts. Would I go 90 MPH on these tires? NO. She is still a work in progress. Lug nuts I needed they didn't even have in stock as described to the first guy I talked to before driving 30 minutes to the store. AND, my son was in the car. If this company was so concerned with public safety they would have helped me with a guy walking out and spending 13 seconds torquing the lugs to the correct specs. I usually preach loudly my praise for Discount Tire versus NTB even manning the door last year at the Slaughter and Manchaca location as they tried to close for a short Thanksgiving break. Yeah, that was me sitting next to a locked door pointing to a sign saying they were closing for a short break for over an hour while 30 customers pulling on the door not noticing the sign. Kind of a Far Side moment there... I've got lots of peeps in the tire business; maybe NTB stands for NEVER TURN BACK and ditch DT. Now researching tire changing station for my 100 acre ranch in Driftwood plus overhead storage for my 7 insured vehicles. Buddy in West Texas has an entire set up to repair his 6 ply tires on his ranch trucks and never needs support. I'm calling him tonight. Very well kept Discount Tire. Loved the location so much I actually passed by it on my first visit because I thought there's no way this nice building is a discount tire. They must have leased it off a dentist's office or something, like jeez. They found a second screw in the tire I did not know about. Everyone I spoke with was gregarious, courteous, clear in communication, and evidently an expert. I have now had two experiences at Discount Tires: buying and service. Buying: I actually bought my tires over the phone, haggling the pricing and all. Got a good deal on the tires I wanted (more than online, until you add shipping), made an appointment to get them done, and then went to the appointment. They had the tires on in a very brisk turnaround (45 minutes?). I wasn't expecting that, and overall the buying part was pleasant. Service: it's been 5K miles since I bought the tires so it's time to rotate and check the balance. I didn't have time so my wife took the car in. It took 45 minutes roughly for them to get it done, with an appointment. That's slightly disappointing. My wife then left to run errands when she discovered one of the hubcaps was broken and almost fell off on the short drive. She went back and they tried talking her out of it being their fault. My wife gets five stars for not letting them get away with it. I called the next day to express my distain for having to come back and wondered when I would have to come back. They said it could be "days" for something to come up from San Antonio. We got a call the next day that the cap was in. I pulled up, a fellow had the new hubcap, he put it on, and I was on my way. While I wasn't happy that they broke the hubcap and tried to push my wife away without resolution, their recovery was adequate.
