My son worked at Discount when he was in high school so I have always had fond memories and opinions of DT, I found the managers professional and the installers hard workers and eager to provide quality service. Until today. Not only was the entire contents of the back of my car tossed into the back seat on top of my dry cleaning and the center console rummage through and the contents laying on the seat, one of the managers after I noticed the caps on my tires were missing and replaced with stock caps accused me of taking them off, later to find them in the cup holder, again, accusing me of putting them there. What? No, I didn't but who caresI I just wanted them. I bought four new tires, no thanks, we appreciate your business , just unprofessionalism and sloppy service. I just moved into the area and I needed a flat repair. I called the store at 10:00 am and was told that if I arrived in 15 minutes, it would take about an hour to do the repair. I arrived at 10:15 am and they set me up for the repair. The text they sent said it would be completed at 11:57 am so about 90 minutes (not great, but I was already there). After sitting there for 2+ hours, I asked for my key back at 12:20 pm when my vehicle still had 2 cars before it to pull in. Yes their flat repairs are free, but this store pulled in numerous customers' vehicles without appointments before my vehicle to replace the tires so just be aware of that. I'd rather be charged $25 for the repair and have it done when promised. The repair takes abut 30 minutes to complete so I was going to be there for 3 hours mininum after calling ahead and that's just nuts. read more

It's busy. This is the go-to spot for the area that can get specific tires shipped in for a same-day fix. But they are polite and get the job done. They were also the cheapest of the two shops in the area. It took 7 hours for my tire to be delivered to the shop and changed there. I was happy to get it fixed before the holiday weekend. Tonight I blew out my rear drives side tire while coming home from work. I have a service agreement with my finance company but its not worth a dang. I waited for an hour and a half and still nothing. I'm an amputee and it's hard to do something like change a tire. Nobody stopped to help. But then one of your employees stopped. Pros: Called with questions - all answered professionally with great attitude. Called back to purchase and schedule - they suggested day/time and got me right in. I was in/out in less than 60min. Worked on laptop in lobby. Three staff I encountered were friendly and wanted to make sure I was being helped. They matched price and explained the warranty differences and any potential impact. They checked tires and validated they needed to be replaced. Cons: Provide wipes for customers if they want to wipe the tables/counters - they weren't dirty per se however with flu season etc. would be a good option. I booked an appointment to have my tires rotated and balanced. My appointment was for 11am. I got there at 10:45. My truck didn't go into the bay until 12:00. I complained to the manager and he blamed it on corporate saying they open up the bookings too much. This is the second time for this to happen to me at this location. Needed to replace a tire due to a damage on one of my front tires. I also needed to get it ASAP in order to pass the state inspection test. I called different places but they were either too busy until later in the week or didn't have what I needed. Finally I called discount tire and they not only were able to take me in at 3:45 in the afternoon, but they also had a few options for me to purchase. I came in and the guy inspected my tires and then provided some analysis and feedback. He then showed me what my options were. Once I made a decision, they took my car in to replace the tires. I ended up purchasing a pair instead of just one since they had some promotion going on. They gave me an estimated wait time of 50 minutes but they finished earlier than that. I used the compressor that came with the car to fill up the tire and as I was driving I noticed the pressure going down. I stopped at the store in Bee Cave in my way home. Yes I know they are a for profit business and I realize they sell tires, but the pushy fear tactics they've been using is having us think about taking our business and referrals elsewhere. Went to Bee Cave location because closer then the one on Slaughter. Came in with my new SUV ( now 4 years old) and had a nail in the middle of the tire. Asked if they could fix it and the guy said yes. We went back inside and he brought the car up which also came up with someone else's name, the previous owner of my car for the last four years. He came around and called me by the other woman's name and said it was time to get new tires and proceeded to tell me it would be $1100 for four new tires. Embarrassed for him, I specifically agreed I will be needing new tires but also told him that was not me and I'm not able to get new tires tonight. I said I may do that here soon maybe 2 new ones this weekend because I know some are a little low tred right now. He didn't really care or like that answer and finally brought my name up to confirm who I was and said I would have to wait a while and it will be done in an hour and a half. Finally, he called my name and said they could not repair it, the hole was too big and if I wanted two or four tires today? Stunned, I told him again that I cannot get new tires today and even told him again. I have relied on DT on Slaughter for over 15 years, not this location in Bee Cave, and they have always delivered, nails in tires you name it. He began to tell me they were putting my spare on right now. In shock, I went outside and the mechanic asked me if I was waiting for a new tire and I replied no that I did not want new tires today. Still in complete shock, I had to leave there with a smaller wheel and a thin spare. I went directly to Firestone in OakHill Austin driving slowly, paid their $30 and they fixed my tire with a bigger plug but they said it was fine and ready to go. Unbelievable! I got my wheel and tire (practically new) back, sigh of relief! Will now never buy any tires from DISCOUNT TIRE BEE CAVE which I was going to do this weekend. Shocked and stunned, DT, you have earned my family's business for over 10 years. My son even worked at the Slaughter location for 2 years and was a supervisor. Not sure if I can even rely on the Slaughter location now either?? Will go somewhere else maybe to Costco instead for my new tires (they have good maintenance for five years, worth it and they care).
