Thanks for displayed nicely. Prices were very clear. I need a little extra help finding something in the Clerk on duty did a great job. I walked out of there with several bags full of Fun things. Now I don't get to Alaska often but if I need to, that's my go to place. I highly recommend it for anything last minute and affordable.

Maybe they keep it dark so you don't notice how dingy it is? Maybe they only paid part of their electric bill (obviously I say in jest)? Maybe they're too cheap and lazy to replace burned out bulbs? I think we have a winner! The reason I go to a dollar store is because they usually beat the big box stores on price and convenience. These folks did neither. We've established the fact their prices suck and it's a pain to shop in the dark like it was moonlight 9-pin-no-tap at the local lanes. We ended up driving over to Sam Walton's place and spent the money there. A mop and some hot soapy water would also do wonders. I know there's got to be a long list of some minor repairs that looks like won't get done. I understand this isn't the ritziest section of Anchorage and that businesses won't be a golden palace. But this store goes way beyond a little distressed, making it a drag to visit. So we won't. I must say the young man with the long hair was most amusing and friendly. We enjoyed his story on the lack of tax in Anchorage and the cost of the shopping bags. He seemed lonely. We understand why. 07/22

There are a ton of stuff in here you might need 30+ minutes if you're really looking. They have an array of items you can by. Mostly furniture, DIY materials and stuff people hand make, crafts, clothes, dishes, Alaska stuff, jewelry. Etc. random stuff. Things I have bought: a car trash bag, dryer balls, laundry detergent strips, sticker, I forget what else really. They have a small kids area with toys and clothes, women's clothes upstairs, a few rooms with dishes, an Alaskan section, a reusable item section, a craft room, and space for volunteers to repurpose stuff before they sell it. They also do craft classes here but I'd check the website for up to date info. They also have a cafe now that rotates who is cooking. I have never seen the coffee bar operational they have nobody that runs it. I dont know if the lady working in Remade would make you a coffee or not if you asked. They are located between Huffman and de Armond road on old Seward. Usually open 11-5 and closed sundays.

It says something that my uncle, daughter and grand daughter all walked out with new clothes. I even found a couple of sweatshirts to bum around in. Do the math and that's four generations served by one store. My uncle's new wife won't let me use her name in the review and got mad and yelled at me about it. So, let's call her Mandice. Not because she has massively huge man-feet, but it's just a random name. Right? Point is, that there were shoes that fit those gunboats...and looked great, to boot (see what I did there). She left with a pair of heels, a running shoe and slippers. NR has a new shoe customer, thanks to me (even though she'll never admit it was me). I love the fact that they keep the place clean and orderly. There's a wide variety. The people are very nice to us, but, they do have to pick up the pace at the check out. We went back a second time and it was no better. Still it's a great find for us. 08/23

Their clothes, shoes, and accessories are definitely made with quality materials. They have the biggest selection of women's plus-size clothing here in Anchorage, but still not a wide enough selection for me. I always found it weird that Torrids bra sizes aren't very plus at all. DDD is the largest cup size they carry. Although they do carry band sizes up to 50. I don't buy anything from here unless I have a coupon and/or there's a sale. This particular Torrid store is nothing noteworthy, but I have had some...interesting interactions with the staff over the years. The first time I went in there just for a strapless bra. The girl at the register asked me like three times if I wanted to sign up for their rewards program or credit card or whatever. I've worked in retail so I get that asking is part of your job, but as soon as a customer says "no", stop. Just stop. Fast forward a few years and I go to look for a bra again. Nordstrom is my store of choice for bra shopping since they have the widest selection and best quality, but of course the price tag reflects that. Apparently, despite being a plus-size store, the largest cup size they carry is DDD. I asked one if the employees if maybe they had my size since I couldn't find it. And you know what she does instead of helping me find the bra like she should have done? She looks at me in disbelief and says that's no way that's my bra size. REALLY? Why would I lie about my size when I'm shopping for clothing? Just to prove her wrong I had an employee do an amateur size measuring on me, which confirmed I was in fact the size I said I was. I felt vindicated after that and decided to leave without buying anything. So now the only reason I go to this Torrid is if I place an online order since you get free shipping if you have your order shipped to a store for pickup. Here's a tip Torrid: don't accuse your customers of lying about their size and just don't harass them in general. You should be lucky you've gotten any money from me at all after that BS.
