This is the most dishonest scamming company I've ever seen!!!!!! I am 70 years old and They took advantage of me after stage three cancer and leaving the hospital afterf a month of which I almost died when I got home I had a leak. I called them and they came out. They told me I had to get financing to cover the 30,000 in expenses, and then bulldozed over me and then started the work of which they had to replace the pipes and they put them all in dry rot wood and we're going to charge me the full amount. I said you're completely scamming me. I couldn't believe my eyes. I got another company who couldn't believe it. I have pictures of all the rotten wood They put the new plumbing in. Thank God I was able to cancel the loan, but not before discount plumbing cashed the check the entire check I called the finance company and they made them pay the money back. and discount plumbing would not return their calls just like me.when I wrote to the Better Business Bureau They won't respond to them or me. The manager came to my house and offered me $6000 said he would be back that afternoon with a check and I never saw him again or would he return any of my texts or my phone calls of which I have copies of all that. just rotten crooked scammers who took advantage of a 70-year-old who just got over stage three cancer. I'm going to take them to court as if that wasn't enough I got stuck with an additional 12,000 in bills of garbage they ordered and will also sue them for that separately. Do not use these people. Harrison was very friendly and did a great job replacing my kitchen faucet! Everything looks great and works perfectly. However, he did switch the direction of the hot and cold water without letting me know. It isn't a big deal, but it took a while to get used to since I kept forgetting. The price was not bad at all to get it replaced and it barely took any time at all. They had a nice coupon on Yelp for the month, which helped out too! I'm really happy with my service and would definitely hire them again. However, since they do charge by job, I understand other reviews saying how the cost adds up for smaller jobs. Avoid Big Time!!! I am an 15 year, Fully Licensed Insurance Agent, and was looking for a good plumber for myself and my clients to refer when needed. I own a rental property, and had Discount Plumbing come out today to give me a quote. It was a simple job, 3/4" small copper elbow, needed to be removed on home owner side of city water meter, and new one put in, as there was a pin hole leak. The bid they gave me was $1300, expensive, but then my jaw really dropped, when Hansel, the tech, told me another $500 because it was raining and they had to put up and umbrella to work. This wasn't a torential down pour! It was a light Fall San Diego sprinkle at best. I knew at this point that I was being had. The company not only lost my business, but the business of over 4000 households that I insure. I promply called another plumber, who completed the job in a half hour at a cost of $180. He did not mind the light sprinkle, and was so nice that I gave him a tip of $20. I though after being more than 9 times cheaper than this outfit, I was still way ahead. !!WARNING!! I regret hiring Discount Plumbing. They're not cheap; people should read the one-star reviews before doing business with them. I hired Discount Plumbing to install an epoxy liner to replace my main sewer line; they asked for prices on other bids and said they would do it cheaper. We agreed on a price I was happy with, and everything was fine. Halfway through the project, the main sewer line was cut and cleaned, but they wanted to trench and cut another end of the pipe because of potential issues, which is fine. I expected some possible problems, but they charged me $1,000 per foot to dig, which is absurd. Because of my situation, I had no choice but to finish the project. They took complete advantage of me. Don't use them. Only thing they did right was come out right away. Leak and clogged drain under the sink... which they could not fix. Even after taking the pipes off under the sink, mind you they lost the bolts to our garbage disposal, which in the end we ended up buying a new garbage disposal Bêc no one wanted to touch that and the maker of garbage disposal, does not sell the bolts. They snaked it and hydro jet and stated they couldn't get thru and water backed up and splashed out. So, the supervisor Jose came and they used a camera and stated that there is roots in the drain pipes. Hence, wanted to move forward to possibly solve the problem with tearing out a wall or break concrete to get to the pipes. Being a responsible consumer we got a second opinion. The second plumber used a camera and found no roots and no blocking. (We called discount plumbing (jose) and told them we no longer need their service and he was not that friendly guy we first met.) But to be safe and prudent, the second plumber, recommends Drain Mob who would have better equipment to see and he highly recommended they would be the one to correct the issue since it's a drain problem and since they are old pipes. They can even possibly do chain clean old pipes and even put new ones in with no demolition. Drainmob came, no roots, snaked it again, and hydrojet. All done no problem , no issue, no hydro jet water back splashing out. And guess what? It was cheaper than Discount plumber and job done in less than an hour. Had Discount plumbing done their job correctly in the first place and Jose did not try so hard to upsell us? We would've had our sink running over a week ago and saved money having to hire others to do the right thing and buy another garbage disposal Bêc Discount Plumbing misplaced the bolts. Don't use them! Update: It has been a few weeks since I posted this review. The day or two after I posted this review, my boyfriend received a call from the owner(claimed to be and he stated that the conversation was being recorded). He did say, that they are a family owned business and that he read the review. Don't quote me on any of this, but in summary, he stated that he would refund us for the service. We have given them plenty of time to do this. To this day? We have not received a refund. I would've been much happier to give an update that stated they are in fact upstanding and tho mistakes may have been made? At least they are indeed practice good business and ethics. However, this is not the case. Like from the beginning, we consider this as a great loss and lose trust to many others that we may deal moving forward. We had a sewage drain clog that was about 15 feet down from the toilet on the 17th floor of our condominium. I called on a Monday, and Discount Plumbing Rooter offered to send someone that afternoon. Unfortunately, our HOA has very strict rules regarding certificate of insurance, COI, requirements. Discount Plumbing Rooter worked with me to obtain the necessary COI's and send them over later that afternoon. On Tuesday, they arrived on time, giving me a 30 minute heads up courtesy call. Requested a drain be unclogged. From the moment he arrived he constantly tried selling other services i.e, water damage restoration, high pressure pipe cleaning etc. The drain cleaning was $325 but he gave me a military discount of $90. Service was $235. He said he ran the snake 25ft and it was still clogged. He said I needed a pipe cleaning service with high pressure clean out. They don't offer to fix your problem - only to ATTEMPT to try and fix them. So they say! Had my regular plumber come the next day and he ran the snake 6 feet and unclogged my drain for $75. Discount plumbers is a total rip off preying on those in need of plumbing services and offering services you don't need. Be warned these guys will take Advantage of you when you're down and out!
