I went to this store several times when I was visiting home. On my first visit I was walking through the mall and the stuffed shaved ice caught my attention. Yeah, even stuffed dessert attract my sweet tooth. At the time they were participating in Pearlridge mall "Fukuburuko." Fukuburuko is deeply discounted grab bags. Every time I came into the store I was greeted right away. The first time I came in the sales associate asked if it was my first time. She gave me a run through of the store. She explained that it's locally owned and inspired. Most of their treats are made by them. She showed me the cute shirts for people and explained the Fukuburuko to me. I purchased a Fukuburuko bag and a few treats to bring back home. I really liked what I got and decided to go back the following day and they still had bags left, I purchased another bag. Every time we came back to the mall I popped in. Location: It's on the TJ Max side of Pearlridge Mall. Dis-and-Bark is on the first floor in between the Cat Cafe and Royal Hawaiian Heritage Jewelry. Watching my dogs play with the toys brings a smile to my face. It reminds me of back home. Hopefully one day I can save enough to show my fur babies the beautiful island I was born and raised. If anyone has any experience bringing their dogs for vacation please let me know. If you have a fur baby or know someone who has check this place out. Support Local Businesses!

Always come here for our doggies treats & they love it!! Shiann was nice & very knowledgeable. We love this place. 100% recommend!

First all I moved to California and always look forward on coming home (hawaii) to see what's new at this incredible store. But this time around not only did I love the new items but can I say Shiann, is so knowledgeable with items there , kind, funny, welcoming but just over all someone I would love to be approached at any store I walk in . You guys did a great job on hiring her to be the face of the store when anyone walks in your store . Thank you again ! Also for the selection of toys, bags and leash. My dog is all decked out til next time!! Aloha

I've been waiting SO long to check this store out, since I live in Seattle. They have many options from cute matching harnesses, treats, toys, human hair clips and others... It is a little pricey but I love that I get to support local and get a cute harness like this. The workers are so friendly as well. I'm so sad though, they didn't have this leash in stock and I leave soon... :( I was waiting MONTHS to get the matching set and there's none online either. I won't be back to Hawaii in a long time but I hope I come across one :(

This place is dangerous--you're practically guaranteed to walk out with at least one dog toy in hand! Dis-and-Bark makes the cutest dog toys that totally hit the mark for the local market, and I had to fight the urge to buy everything. I had to keep it to just one toy because, you know, limited luggage space when you're hauling everything back to the mainland. I had my eye on this adorable stuffed Zip Pac set, but the staff kindly warned me it might not survive my two dogs, who treat stuffed toys like they're in a WWE match. So, instead, I went with a four-pack of the Pawlicken. So far, so good--it's holding up, and the pups are loving their oyster treats, too! They've got such a unique variety of toys that you won't find anywhere else, perfect for spoiling your furry friends. Seriously, support local--your dogs will thank you!

Bruno, Hauoli, Sammie and Leia can't wait to dig into their treats!

My daughter and I went in to get a few things for my four fur babies and Shiann was so helpful! We had a great time sharing stories about our babies! It's so awesome to get this type of customer service now days! It's truly hard to find. You could really tell she loves what she does! It's people like her that make me want to support local businesses.

I've been wanting to check this place out for the longest time, and I finally made it to Pearlridge Center with my dog, Lulu. She was so excited as soon as we walked into the store--there were tons of Hawaii-themed toys and the smell of treats everywhere. The employees were incredibly friendly and even gave Lulu some treats while we browsed! They have a fantastic selection of cute local toys like a loco moco, a shoyu bottle, a Hawaiian Sun plush, and more. Everything was absolutely adorable! They also carry a variety of nutritious treats for dogs. Yes, the toys are a bit pricey, but they're totally worth it for the unique, one-of-a-kind items from Hawaii. We love this place!

I cannot begin to describe how creative and original the dog toys are, and too adorable! Locally themed dog toys, t shirts and many local items/vendors are supported in their shops. You will NOT be disappointed in anything you get! My absolute favorite item is the giant and mini lau lau toys! The mini has become my moped mascot!

Super cute store for dog lovers!! Full on local!! The toys are hilarious! Lau lau, poi bags, rice bags cracked me up! The harnesses & leashes are adorable! Nice designs& quality products. Lots of all natural snacks/treats, fresh bakery items as well.

I follow this company for island inspired toys for my pup. I have made purchases online but since we were visiting the island from the mainland we need to come in and see her other items in person. We restocked my pups toys with fresh ones and bought some toys for his pup cousins too. You have to check this place out! We are adding this to our list of usual places when we visit the island.

Dis-and-bark isn't just a retail store, it's a community of like minded parents that treats any pet as a human child. Our pets deserve just as much happiness that they bring to us. They love us unconditionally and the owner understands that. She puts her heart and soul into every item she makes and is mindful of ingredients that our babies digest. From pop ups to now in store, the aloha spirit is spread generously!

When I called ahead, I specifically asked if there were any requirements or documentation needed, and I was told no because Hawaii does not require rabies documentation. When I arrived, they asked if my dog had any allergies, and I explained that he does not, but he does experience seizures occasionally. The woman at the counter with long hair and a ponytail spoke with the manager, and I was then informed they could not groom him because of the seizures. They asked if he was on medication, which he is, and whether the seizures were triggered by noise, which they are not. I explained they only happen every few months. While I understand policies are policies and I did not argue their decision, it was frustrating to find this out only after arriving for the appointment. The manager did provide me with a recommendation for another groomer, which I appreciated. The manager answered my questions and gave me options for types of trimmers that I could use at home. However, the customer service afterward was what truly disappointed me. I mentioned I no longer wanted my other dog groomed but was interested in purchasing nail trimmers. The manager asked an employee to assist me. The employee walked away, and I followed her, but then lost sight of where she went. I eventually found her sitting at the front of the store waiting for someone else to bring the item. When she finally acknowledged me, she simply said, "Oh, I'm waiting for them to bring it to me." The issue was not the wait itself, it was the lack of communication. I was left standing there confused, having to look for the employee, only to find her sitting down without ever telling me what was going on. Overall, this experience could have been handled much better with clearer communication and stronger customer service.

I think it's a bit less species variety overall than maybe the fish shops in Kalihi and the aquarium concepts shop nearby in mapunapuna, but a bit more selection of fancy guppies at the same time. The big-brain flower horns, discus, some display tanks, and axolotls were a cool surprise. Some of the resident loaches were huge, especially the albino dojo near the front! Too bad I forgot to take a photo. That thing must be like a foot long and a decade old, and maybe as thick around as a portuguese sausage. Huge hump of fatty muscle along its back. I'd been wanting to check this place out! It definitely is a little cramped and cluttered looking inside and the smell is a little strong, but not too bad. There was a long-gone hollow goldfish staring at the sky, that gave me small-kine jump scare when I squat down to look at a tank. It was just randomly drying out at the bottom of a bucket in the aisles, which was, uh... anyways. I wanted to know more about an unlabeled and unpriced freshwater plant that somewhat resembles seaweed, so the buff dude grabbed a handful to show to the cashier lady at the front. The buff dude was attentive and personable throughout my visit, and did his best to answer questions about the fish, which I appreciated. The cashier lady though, she mumbled a name but I don't think she knew the plant that well and didn't write it down either. What she was somehow very sure about was the price, lol... just plainly stated the price for a clump is $7.99, though the tank of plants above it were organized in much neater clumps, and advertised at $5.99 each. Not only that, she had to step down from the cashier box to get her hands wet, and manually separate the handful of plant that the man grabbed. Started as a healthy, natural looking clump that would fit nicely in an 8 oz container, and she tore it in half. So, now it's small enough that it fits in the palm of your hand! Did she think to wash her hands first after handling cash and coins all morning? Nahh... But she was very insistent to him that he was definitely (and arbitrarily) holding two clumps, not one! She knew I wanted to buy it, and I'd already got a few pricier fish in my cart, so I guess she felt I could afford to cough up an extra few bucks. Yeah can, just don't think that I don't notice the grubbing... Business goes on as usual. I needed to get on with my errands that morning and eh, the shop has some local mom-and-pop vibes so I gave it a pass.

Snow day for dogs!…read more It is our second time doing this. Last year the snow day was $10 per family (regardless of the amount of pets). This year it was $10 per pet. I decided to only take one dog (Nalu) since simba already went to it in the past. This time the line was not as crazy and I remember we waited out there for a really long time. This time there was a QR code and it texted you when to come up to the gate. This was still a little confusing cause it shows it's your time but not really your time? You still had to stand in line that they had with possibly a handful of people getting the text at the same time. I think in a way that is helpful but not really if your dog really needs space since the distance between dogs is very little in line. There was some vendor booths - snacks. Food and activities. We tried the canine cardio there again which my dog nailed this time! Also it's better if you go early. Going late means yellow snow. lol.
