Amazing customer service, very knowledgeable employee! makes it enjoyable shopping and looking around for what's good for my pup!!
I went to this store several times when I was visiting home. On my first visit I was walking through the mall and the stuffed shaved ice caught my attention. Yeah, even stuffed dessert attract my sweet tooth. At the time they were participating in Pearlridge mall "Fukuburuko." Fukuburuko is deeply discounted grab bags. Every time I came into the store I was greeted right away. The first time I came in the sales associate asked if it was my first time. She gave me a run through of the store. She explained that it's locally owned and inspired. Most of their treats are made by them. She showed me the cute shirts for people and explained the Fukuburuko to me. I purchased a Fukuburuko bag and a few treats to bring back home. I really liked what I got and decided to go back the following day and they still had bags left, I purchased another bag. Every time we came back to the mall I popped in. Location: It's on the TJ Max side of Pearlridge Mall. Dis-and-Bark is on the first floor in between the Cat Cafe and Royal Hawaiian Heritage Jewelry. Watching my dogs play with the toys brings a smile to my face. It reminds me of back home. Hopefully one day I can save enough to show my fur babies the beautiful island I was born and raised. If anyone has any experience bringing their dogs for vacation please let me know. If you have a fur baby or know someone who has check this place out. Support Local Businesses!
I've been waiting SO long to check this store out, since I live in Seattle. They have many options from cute matching harnesses, treats, toys, human hair clips and others... It is a little pricey but I love that I get to support local and get a cute harness like this. The workers are so friendly as well. I'm so sad though, they didn't have this leash in stock and I leave soon... :( I was waiting MONTHS to get the matching set and there's none online either. I won't be back to Hawaii in a long time but I hope I come across one :(
This place is dangerous--you're practically guaranteed to walk out with at least one dog toy in hand! Dis-and-Bark makes the cutest dog toys that totally hit the mark for the local market, and I had to fight the urge to buy everything. I had to keep it to just one toy because, you know, limited luggage space when you're hauling everything back to the mainland. I had my eye on this adorable stuffed Zip Pac set, but the staff kindly warned me it might not survive my two dogs, who treat stuffed toys like they're in a WWE match. So, instead, I went with a four-pack of the Pawlicken. So far, so good--it's holding up, and the pups are loving their oyster treats, too! They've got such a unique variety of toys that you won't find anywhere else, perfect for spoiling your furry friends. Seriously, support local--your dogs will thank you!
I've been wanting to check this place out for the longest time, and I finally made it to Pearlridge Center with my dog, Lulu. She was so excited as soon as we walked into the store--there were tons of Hawaii-themed toys and the smell of treats everywhere. The employees were incredibly friendly and even gave Lulu some treats while we browsed! They have a fantastic selection of cute local toys like a loco moco, a shoyu bottle, a Hawaiian Sun plush, and more. Everything was absolutely adorable! They also carry a variety of nutritious treats for dogs. Yes, the toys are a bit pricey, but they're totally worth it for the unique, one-of-a-kind items from Hawaii. We love this place!
I cannot begin to describe how creative and original the dog toys are, and too adorable! Locally themed dog toys, t shirts and many local items/vendors are supported in their shops. You will NOT be disappointed in anything you get! My absolute favorite item is the giant and mini lau lau toys! The mini has become my moped mascot!
First all I moved to California and always look forward on coming home (hawaii) to see what's new at this incredible store. But this time around not only did I love the new items but can I say Shiann, is so knowledgeable with items there , kind, funny, welcoming but just over all someone I would love to be approached at any store I walk in . You guys did a great job on hiring her to be the face of the store when anyone walks in your store . Thank you again ! Also for the selection of toys, bags and leash. My dog is all decked out til next time!! Aloha
Super cute store for dog lovers!! Full on local!! The toys are hilarious! Lau lau, poi bags, rice bags cracked me up! The harnesses & leashes are adorable! Nice designs& quality products. Lots of all natural snacks/treats, fresh bakery items as well.
My daughter and I went in to get a few things for my four fur babies and Shiann was so helpful! We had a great time sharing stories about our babies! It's so awesome to get this type of customer service now days! It's truly hard to find. You could really tell she loves what she does! It's people like her that make me want to support local businesses.
I Just want to say , there is NO OTHER doggy store here in HAWAII like Dis-and-Bark ! You can totally feel the LOVE the minute you walk in the door! Everyone working there makes you feel like OHANA ! This is what ALOHA is all about ! Even your fur babies knows this is THE BEST snack Store , toy store, hang out with your fur BESTIES Store !! If you have not gone to see this CUTE Store filled with oodles & oodles of doggy loving toys & Snacks, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???? Pack your fur babies Up & get there ASAP!!
I follow this company for island inspired toys for my pup. I have made purchases online but since we were visiting the island from the mainland we need to come in and see her other items in person. We restocked my pups toys with fresh ones and bought some toys for his pup cousins too. You have to check this place out! We are adding this to our list of usual places when we visit the island.
For those who are just looking for a quick review: - Friendly staff that are continually learning about the store and products and greeting people and pups (they just opened June 15) - If you bring your fur babies, they get to "sample" a treat (I love it because then I know if they like it or not) AND they totally let you read the bag for ingredients - Products are great, even the B Grade - You get what you pay for, which is LOVE and ATTENTION and QUALITY - You can try-on the harnesses and collars in-store to make sure you get the correct size - I am picky when it comes to what I feed my dogs for their health and safety and longevity, but I don't have to worry about that here Now here's my long review: I have been following Dis-and-Bark for a while. Only recently (as in the last 1-2 months) did I become a mama to 2 fur babies. I WISH I bought their previous toys when they were still just online (1. Because I absolutely love everything Leah creates 2. Some stuff aren't around because she's continually coming out with new things!!!) But that's a whole other thing lol. From grand opening day June 15 to today I have been in this store MULTIPLE times. And I mean like 7+ times both when they are busy and when no one else is in. (I space out my purchases and some of the girls know me now because I've been there so much both with my babies and while I'm on lunch because I work upstairs). Coming from myself, an employee of a small business in Hawaii, I can see their growth every time I step in. I can see the HARD and CREATIVE work of Leah and her 'ohana. They continue to train and help their staff interact with people and pups (it's not a skill everyone has to be outgoing to humans and pups and humans with pups, so let them continue to learn). The floor is ever changing so look carefully before you miss something good. Supporting local means supporting the time and effort and price. They are filling a niche that is much appreciated. Also if I didnʻt work 2 jobs that I love and have 2 human kids and 2 fur babies, I would work here. IT REALLY IS DISNEYLAND FOR DOGS AND DOG OWNERS.
Dis and Bark Aiea is their original location located in Pearlridge. It's probably my second or third time at this location and there is an entrance near TJ Maxx that will take you directly to their store. I was lost the first time i went here because this townie hardly ever goes into Aiea or let alone Pearlridge mall. To be honest - i did not have dogs that liked toys until we got the baby gremlin this year. He loved the pastry box which i had for a while that was sitting in storage. He's even fit in the box as a puppy at one point. They now carry more than just toys, there's enrichment items, raw foods, and an assortment of treats. Your dog is always welcomed here. Gremlins are also tolerated, lol. We were helped by Maile this past visit and the boys got SO MANY TREATS! if you're indecisive of which one to buy, then they will offer so many samples to see if they enjoy it first. which mine of course does because they have no self-control. read more

Thank you soo much for your love and support!
Our go to place for dog treats ! Fair prices , amazing staff and always a good selection. Today Shiann helped us to pick out some new treats they had in stock. We went with the goat foot with fur and rabbit ear. Our little girl always loves the rabbit foot, so we thought we'd try the goat. Needless to say it was a hit. She was so excited when we brought it home and has been going at it since. Can't wait to go back and try more stuff. read more

My fur niece spent the week with me, and as I was unpacking her travel case, I had to take a photo of her favorite toy. Any local person would instantly recognize the Hawaiian style snack theme toys. So creative and cute! It also comes in a durable playable snack package to easily store the toys. She plays super rough with the toys and yet still in good condition. read more

Dis-and-bark isn't just a retail store, it's a community of like minded parents that treats any pet as a human child. Our pets deserve just as much happiness that they bring to us. They love us unconditionally and the owner understands that. She puts her heart and soul into every item she makes and is mindful of ingredients that our babies digest. From pop ups to now in store, the aloha spirit is spread generously! read more

My dog and I LOVE this place!!! I love that this store has brought along with it the ability for dogs to come to the mall with their humans. I spend way too much here on their adorable toys and yummy snacks and my pocketbook cries but my fur baby loves it and I love that it makes her happy. Come here to support a local business that creates unique and adorable toys for your pups. Highly recommended!!! read more

Dis-and-Bark carries the CUTEST locally designed dog toys featuring local treats!! Most importantly, dogs love them!!! Here is my Sami loving the lau lau:-) Many are multiple toys in one- Sami's other favorite is the rice which has a crinkle bag with 3 pieces of rice! Hide some treats in the bag to make it extra fun!!! Don't forget to read the "ingredients"- Dis-and-Bark is cute to the tiniest details!! read more
