Phenomenal, just ordered to go from here. As a chef for 15 years I'm very picky and tacos are a simple but difficult thing to perfect. I ordered 14 tacos for 100 bucks which is a great deal and we're all fully loaded. The owner is super nice and took my order. The tacos were presented beautifully in a to go tray. I highly recommend. Ok, so we are regulars at Dirty Taco & Tequila in Patchogue... and by regulars, I mean like TWICE a week! I'm not really sure why I haven't reviewed them sooner... but I'm actually glad I waited. We have had almost every taco on the menu but tonight blew us out of the water. Their surf and turf tacos special... OH. MY. GOD. Probably the most delicious thing we have ever eaten! Jay was our server tonight and he really compares to none! He's always on top of every single thing we need/want for our entire visit. He's amazing!!!! But really, you can't go wrong with the staff... Will, Meghan, Jill, John just to name a few!!!! This place is our favorite place, by far! We really don't even need menus at this point but boy am I happy for that "Specials" board at the front and Will and Jay saying "you HAVE to try the surf and turf tonight!" SO glad we did!!!! First time at this place. We actually were in the area to try toast coffee house. When we walked by the Dirty taco we saw how open and nice it looked inside we figured we would give it a try, boy am I glad we did. Jill was our server and she was attentive, courteous and overall Outstanding! She explained in detail the menu , making suggestions. Checked on us several times, The guy who ran our food out to us answered the exact ingredients in the salsa, we needed to take some food home and Jill brought us over containers and a guy from across the room heard us ask for a bag and he ran it over to us . EVERYONE and I mean everyone working there was smiling, happy, and courteous . I was utterly impressed, you just don't see that kind of customer service these days. WELL DONE !! Good lord is this food amazing. As a vegetarian, I have limited options. When this location opened, I just assumed I wouldn't be able to eat here. I was pleasantly surprised that they have a decent amount of vegetarian/vegan options! It's very pricey at almost $7/taco with a 4% price increase if you use a debit/credit card, but they ARE larger than the average street taco and do fill you up so at least you won't be left broke and still hungry. The chips and queso as an appetizer was great, and my bf and I loved our tacos. He got the paloma drink special that day and it was also amazing. My biggest gripe is that they definitely don't have the best customer service. However, they do offer take out so I'll probably go that route more since it's also a very busy location and small+loud+crowded and that's not really my personal vibe. read more

My boyfriend and I came here on Thanksgiving Eve to celebrate my birthday for a little bit. We expected a wait since it looked busy, but we were immediately greeted and seated right away. We later learned the nice gentlemen that sat us was the owner! Our server was named Jay and he was outstanding! Jay went over everything with us, gave excellent recommendations, kept our margaritas flowing the entire time and was extremely attentive with a wonderful personality to match! We had such a great time, the energy in the restaurant was amazing and when they heard it was my birthday the owner gave me a free tee shirt, a delicious birthday dessert and two shots! I have to say everything we ate was fantastic! We had the queso dip & kung poa dumplings as our appetizers, BOTH were fantastic! We ended up getting two tacos each as well since everyone else's food looked so good!! I had a special Cuban Birria taco & the Carne Asada taco. My boyfriend had the birria taco on the menu as well as the Cuban birria special taco. We both have not stopped talking about how incredibly delicious both of our tacos were and we can't wait to go back!! This place is absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it. I have been coming here since they opened and absolutely love this place. Nina was our served tonight and she was outstanding. Usually we have jay as our server and he always is wonderful and basically anticipates our needs at this point since we've practically become regulars. He even goes out of his way to welcome us even if he isn't assigned to us! My significant other and I actually had our first date at dirty taco in wantagh and have tried every location with patchogue being our favorite since it's close to home. Fridays and saturdays is a bit busier so the wait is longer but it is worth it! Your taste buds will thank you later. As a service industry business owner I know I can be a bit critical at times. Last time the experience in the dining room wasn't the greatest. My friend and I agreed to go back and sit at the bar this time. We went on a saturday night and the place was busy as usual. Luckily, we got 2 seats at the bar rather quickly. We were given menus by a female bartender and then she continued to talk to the guests she was helping. I was immediately impressed that one of the male bartenders came around from behind the bar to clean and wipe down the bar where we sat. We later found out his name was Ivan. He is mostly why I'm writing this review. We both watched in awe at how productive, professional, quick and effective he was. He clearly seemed to be the one making all the drinks for the dining room. After we got our menus no one came back to take our order, which was understandable because they all seemed busy. He noticed that we had no drinks and asked us what we wanted while continuing to speed through tickets that he seemed to be getting non stop. I felt bad and told him to take his time and he said "don't worry about me, this is about you". Made our drinks (Spicy Ginger and Strawberry Kiwi) in no time and then continued to take care of us, other people around us, and made drinks for the all the tables. I've never been more impressed, i didn't see him stop once the whole time we were there. Not taking away from the other 3 bartenders because they seemed to be busy as well but maybe he could train them on multi-tasking. Even when he had no drinks to make i saw him getting ice, cups, filling stuff up, just non stop work ethic. When it was time to order food we were unsure due to all the Taco options. He asked all the right questions and made all the right recommendations. We told him to pick some for us and everything he chose was spot on. Few that i remember were the Brussel Sprout taco, Buffalo Shrimp, Carne Adobo, Ahi Tuna, and my personal favorite the Beeria which he swore by. All amazing and highly recommend. All in all, the experience turned out much better than we ever expected. The food was great, the drinks were amazing and the service was exceptional! Thank you Ivan! We will definitely be back to see him. Also wanted to point out the bartender working next to him, I didn't get his name but he was very sweet and engaged in what he was doing. Excellent addition to Patchogue village. Atmosphere is fantastic - light hearted, energetic and casual. The food delivered across the board. Guacamole, several tacos and quesadillas were all on point. Margaritas were great. Service was friendly and attentive. UNETHICAL... The menu states a price for each item. For example, the margaritas were listed for $13.00; however, on the bill the price for each margarita was 13.52. This a 4% increase, which was actually applied to every item we ordered...see the photos below. The receipt that we received states: "we have implemented a cash discount program". Where is the cash discount? The receipt reflects a 4% increase to each item then sales tax to the total bill, which was calculated with the 4% increase. Any restaurant I have been to that charges extra for using a credit card has two prices on the bill, one for cash and one for credit; very apparent. My expectation is to pay the price listed on the menu + the 8.625% tax, consumers shouldn't have to analyze a receipt. Its Very disappointing to me and i feel extremely unethical to be paying an additional for 4% on listed prices and paying tax on that 4% . For this reason, we will never go back. If you dine here make sure you review your bill!! read more
