I heard good things about the duck taco from Dirty Taco GCT but it was unfortunately disappointing to say at the least & ridiculously pricey. Yes I know that it's GCT but I don't think that's a valid reason to charge literally $7 for a taco that one can finish in 2 bites & has a sliver of duck on it. Was the duck good? Yes, so two stars but won't visit again.

Duck Carnitas

Dining Concourse at Grand Central Terminal 89 E. 42nd St. New York, NY 10017 Dirty Taco Duck Carnitas The taco was moderately piled with duck meat and topped with medium salsa and chopped onions. The taste was excellent, but based on this minute size it should not be classified on the menu as a regular size taco.

Except for the tortilla chips, the two tacos and salsa were disappointing. Dirty Taco, located in the lower ground floor of the Grand Central Station, has been open for one and a half years. It's quite possible that commuters and visitors stop by to have something here. Yesterday I didn't want to have my usual picks so came here for tacos. I chose a pork carnita and a pork belly taco. Plus chips and salsa. When I opened the bag to stand and eat at a table the plate had juice all over which had made the tortillas soggy. The fillings were not flavorful. I didn't care for the salsa either. This was a waste of $17+change.

I came here for lunch after my foreman had gotten me a duck taco to try. I said I would be going back and trying some more tacos from here! I went and got a duck skin taco that was crispy and very flavorful. With onions Cilantro. And had a beef and a pork taco too. These tacos are very very good. The meats are juicy and fresh and you get served pretty quickly. It's located on low level of grand central right next magnolia bakery. I probably will be back here again tomorrow to try some more tacos!

Duck quesadilla

Picked up food to go during lunchtime. Not a huge line and I appreciated placing my order on the kiosk so I could take my time selecting what I wanted. I ordered a duck quesadilla with mild sauce. Not overly greasy, not sure I got sauce and I forgot the sour cream. Otherwise it's good and a lot of food. I also got it to go, and it was wrapped well. Would definitely recommend coming here. Everyone was very pleasant too. Just remember that it's located in a food court and seating is limited.

I wasn't going to add a review because I felt maybe I should give this place another visit, and maybe I would because I wanted to try the duck skin taco and they told me they were not ready, bummer! So I decided to go with Grandma's Korean Steak Taco. That was a disappointment. The meat was chopped up into mini size pieces, and in my opinion, you should never treat a steak that way, so I did not care for it at all. As a matter of fact, the two stars are for the toppings and taco itself. Im being generous for now. I also didn't care for the vibe of the place. Although it's in a train station underground, they could have been more available to give me more attention because they had no other customers around. I mean, it was like I was invisible, and that wasn't a good feeling. I give them no thumbs up. They should work on customer service skills, and I may return in the future or not. There are too many taco spots in the city for this not so good experience.

This was my first time grabbing a bite at the dirty taco. I had a chicken taco, which was filled with meat and delicious. I also ordered chips with the guac, but my favorite was the chicken tortilla soup! It was so yummy and enough for two people. The servers were great and suggested I get a plastic bag from a neighboring restaurant as the weather was pouring rain outside. I wish they had a standalone restaurant so I could've sat down and enjoyed my meal. I just took it to go and stood up in Grand Central Station. I would definitely recommend this place for a quick bite. And I can't wait to return.

I have been here twice and the tacos are great. It is located in the food hall of Grand Central Terminal in Midtown Manhattan. On this occasion I got the Korean steak taco. The taco was a bit doughy and had too much of a floury taste for me. The Korean steak was good it had a spicy tangy taste. I also got the green sauce which they make and is amazing they said they may be bottling and selling it soon.

The food look and tasted as if it was an afterthought. The food was so greasy and tasteless. I like to use my meals out to have great food but this was a waste and theeeeee worst tacos I ever had !!! Yes the menu looks really good prices not The worst But nope Complete fail. It doesn't help that the food court area and the table area has smelly homeless people all over dirty tables and nobody is doing a thing about it . It's not Dirty tacos fault but the food court mangers need to get rid of them and clean the place up . It made the experience much worse especially if the tourist come and see this .

Solid street tacos- very simple and no frills! Got one of the steak and one of the chicken. These are served street style, the same way I had them in LA- so simple corn tortilla, some yummy grilled meat, and then raw onions and cilantro on top. The meat could afford to be a smidge more spiced and tender, but honestly fantastic for a quick bite and super generous with the quantity of meat. I found my taco shell to be falling apart. Service was fast- would come by again!

The tacos did taste very good but also basic for the price. I got the regular chicken tacos, 3 for around 15$. Very nice workers.

I had the pork carnitas which were bomb! You can customize your tacos and choose the level of spicy. I will be back! Service was great.

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

The birria tacos were really good (or so my son said) but sadly the taquitos were terrible. They literally just had unseasoned shredded chicken (but serves me right for ordering something so basic). The energy was flat, and that lack of enthusiasm carried right into the food. The menu needs a complete overhaul. I'm not sure if it's trying to be "different," but the taco options were unappealing just from reading the descriptions. I managed to choose the two best-sounding items I could find, and honestly, they were so bland I don't even remember what they were. The setup and decor were basic. This spot could be a fun hangout, but it would take a better menu and staff who actually seem to care. It feels like just another restaurant that's lost sight of creating an actual experience for guests. The lack of vibe is obvious--if you don't want customers, just say so. I'm giving 2 stars out of respect for the fact that people have to work for a living.

Although I had a reservation, I was instructed to go to the bar. Literally no home at the bar whatsoever. Granted I know Mexican restaurants tend to be super crowded for Cinco de Mayo but I was a party of one. I should have been seated outside at the very least. I had to drink my frozen Patron Margarita standing up until a space at the bar open up after 20-25 minutes. Once seated, my area wasn't properly cleaned. I felt awkward and uncomfortable. I reluctantly ordered fish tacos with mild guacamole but was given spicy guacamole. The fish tacos were a little cold. The service was rushed. I left without ordering another drink or more food. I was over it. This place isn't far from my employer so maybe I'll give it another chance on a random weekday.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
