It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. If you enjoy the daily interruption of service, select AT&T Direct TV Satellite. I have historically had cable tv. After visiting my dad for a few weeks, I have concluded, I would never have this provider. Even on fair weather days, my dad has interruptions at random times throughout the day. With no weather conditions , no obstructions and installation provided by professionals, I find it completely unacceptable to charge over $100 per month for an average plan. read more

Too bad I can only select 1 star. That is too generous. Long time Direct TV customer. Moving my service to a new address, Made a service appointment early last week for today, 12-4. Got a confirmation at 2P that everything was on schedule. Then a text that it would be by 6P. Then at 5:55p, NO CALL, NO INFO, so I called only to find out my service was on hold. No explanation, no reason. I have been stood up and the next available is Friday afternoon. I have guests coming for the holiday and I have to come again to sit and wait and hope someone shows up unless the same thing happens again. Ever since AT&T swallowed Direct TV, the service has gone down, down, down. And either I put up with it and pay an outrageous monthly bill or do without. I requested cancellation of services in February to be initiated on 3/1/18. Some time later I am notified of all of these internal practices, rules and regulations that would have prevented a cancellation on my requested date of 3/1/18 and they are now requesting that I pay additional funds beyond 3/1/18. I was in a new residence well beyond this requested date. I asked that they review recorded calls to show that I was never advised of the same, instead they began to elevate their voices and switch to aggressive tones advising I would have little choice. All I asked is to be billed for services I used, instead they insist on billing me beyond that date. Since AT&T bought Directv they don't care about customers who have been with them for years. New customers get packages for 75.00 while we get charged 140.00 call and was told sorry can't help you. First two years was moderately priced with promos. After two years they raise the price of all packages. My bill went from $82 to $142 and I called to cancel. Surprisingly, the American lady didn't offer any save options for me. So I gladly cancelled. DTV raises the price yearly around January. read more

I had an appointment (yes an appointment I have the confirmation on my phone and screenshot from my account) to have my cable buried and my husband took off work to be home as we have 70 sprinklers in our yard and we wanted to make sure that they weren't cut. We stayed home ALL day and NO ONE came. This is even after we confirmed via chat with two separate CS reps that the tech was "on his way". The next morning two techs show up and start ditch witching my yard without even knocking on the door to let me know they were here. They caused damage to my sprinkler system and I immediately stopped them and told them to leave. Long story long, NO apology from ATT, they don't reach out to me, nothing. My husband lost a day of work and now has to take off again Friday to get this work complete. When I ask CS for some sort of credit to offset our inconvenience and lost wages, I'm told read my terms of service as ATT doesn't reimburse for that. Well I read my terms of service and it states we agree to arbitration to settle disputes. I guess that's where we're headed then if ATT can't even give me some sort of credit for THEIR mistake that cost us time, money and damage. In the meantime I will prepare a PowerPoint presentation of all the screenshots and information that we have had to deal with from this issue for my husband to add to his presentation to the 50-75 people he presents to EACH WEEK at Redstone Arsenal that consists of active duty members, contractors, and employees from every major defense contractor from all over the world to let them know how we've been treated by ATT. If we can get just one person to NOT use ATT, that will be equal to the credit I want to my account. Considering we are here for two more years, we should be able to reach TONS of potential customers. I'm also posting my ordeal to every social media outlet and am telling everyone I meet of our situation. I'm getting my credit one way or another. If CS had just reached out to us and offered us an amount equal to one month of service, I would feel differently towards what happened. But so far not even an apology. read more

If there was a 0 star I would choose it. Basically it's not the service that sucks its the customer service. Its the automated service when you call. Let me explain... I have been a Directv customer for over 15 years. My son was going off to college and we called Directv to establish his service simply because he knew the service, channels, etc. I explained to the lady he would be there 1 year and she told me that we simply was going to split the account and because we were no longer under contract that at the end of that year we could transfer the remaining one year of contract back to our home. Lets just say..... THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. They hit me with over a $240.00 early disconnect fee. Did not disconnect when they were supposed to have and tried to charge me with another month on top of that (luckily I had the information of the person I spoke with on the disconnect and they researched and seen were they dropped the ball on the disconnect) To Bad I didn't have the same information on the conversation that we set up the service. Anyway..... Get in writing what you think your supposed to have otherwise you'll get hit with fee's your not expecting! Oh and it gets really old to not understand the customer service representatives your talking to. read more

DirectTV has the worst customer service of any company I've ever dealt with, EVER! I mean, really, ever! Beware, they have several divisions of their company, all operating under the DirecTV name but they don't talk to each other at all. And they will scam you for every penny they can get out of you, especially if you have the chance to relocate your services to another address during your time as a customer. Just beware and do not sign up for this if you have other choices. I've had a few friendly customer service agents who knew what they were talking about, but more often than not, I speak to someone who is rude and doesn't even want to be at their job. I was really excited about direct tv. At first . . . The technician that came was really nice and accommodating. Things were good. Then it would rain and it would go out. I would call to get help and the same female would answer. She would speak as though I have no idea of their procedures and things I "should" know. I'm sorry I don't work there nor do I understand all thing little things that go with the system. So I called to find out about fiber and the same female was so condescending that I just had to say thank you and hang up. Tonight I felt the same way with the same female and now a male. I don't know if they teach how to speak to their customers but these people come off so horribly. I tried to rent a movie and it didn't work. I called and the machine asked if I wanted to rent the movie so I stayed yes. It didn't work again and I called back same rude women and she stated I rented the movie just on a different channel. The movie was half way over and I could not rewind. It started on the channel time but I wanted to rent it. She said there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to someone and she sent me to a number that was not in service. I called back. This time a male answered. Still upset I tried to speak with him and he stated that he could help. He was wrong. He said the same exact thing as the women. I did get upset maybe not chosen the best word but once again I was being dismissed. I'm usually ok with whatever needs to be done as long as the results are the same but he basically said that I need to be smarter then the computer. I brought it up to him and tried for them to see what I was trying to do but he just dismissed this by stating my opinion doesn't matter. What are they teaching these people? I just don't understand. The bundle with the phone was nice I just don't know if it is worth all of this trouble. read more

We are new to this area, just bought a home here and scheduled installation. After a 5 day wait a "technician " arrives and because his company lost their contract with Direct he did not have the equipment to complete service. He then got into his truck and left without an explanation or reschedule. We phoned customer service , they apologized and rescheduled for the next morning for between 8 to 12. Five calls from customer service explaining the new technician was running late etc he arrives at 1 pm. Tells us about wiring and poking holes around the house which we had explained preciously we did not want, then said a wireless system could be installed for $100. We agreed to this only to be told he did not have the equipment to do this but can be rescheduled in another 5 days. Called to cancel the service, and requested to talk to a supervisor only to be placed on hold 47 minutes and then told it would be another 20 minutes before a supervisor was available. Service is cancelled, very disappointed with the lack of professionalism from a major company. read more

The super fast talking reps for ATT/DIRECTTV work from a script and like to say 'we'll get back to that question , but FIRST.....' and they do NOT get back to YOUR specific question. After nearly an hour on the phone w a rep today, and ONLY AFTER they get the SS number , your cc number ...if you actually ASK what the first TWO bills will be, is when you are hit with the 'surprise' Current ad for net/tv/phone at $89 for yr commitment does NOT state clearly in any ad (even online) that there is a $21.75 FIRST amount you have to pay TODAY on the phone, AND on the first actual bill an activation fee of $49 plus installation fee of $99. BUT heres the truly slick catch: if you order all 3 services TODAY and give them access to your cc for auto pay , they can 'drop the $99 install fee' as a discount. Really, this is a discount? EXACTLY would the first bill BE without any of the discounts? I mean when you shop for a car or clothes or shoes you know what the price was BEFORE the 'sale/discount' amount...so why not too with DirectTV/ATT??? You really have to appreciate the slick presentation and how smoothly they convince you to move on with the process and 'then get back to YOUR question' ploy. It wasn't until the very end, when i SPECIFICALLY asked what would the FIRST THREE ACTUAL BILLS BE (without taxes of course because that varies fr state to state) that I was informed about activation fee and the 'processing fee of 19.95 which is actually $21.75 with tax that miraculously COULD have the tax figured in. BEWARE THE SLICK SALES PITCH. And also, if you wanted the 3 services you FIRST have to commit to DirectTV and ONLY THEN are you connected to internet/phone service rep. to get actual costs. By the time I was done w the DirectTV part, I had heard enough to boggle the mind of an accountant and decided to stay with the service I had. NOTE TOO: I find this to be truly bait and switch type ad in that ALL the pricing information is NOT AVAILABLE at one time from ONE REP. Come on, do you really think we believe its such a mystery that we need a separate rep to quote internet/phone costs ???? And note as well, the $89 for 2 yrs price guarantee is NOT the true full price. It depends IF you already have a cell provider and WILL CHANGE TO ATT ...AND what speed internet you require. (more speed, higher cost of course and we all know THAT is bs because it costs NO MORE for super fast speed than super slow speed since it all goes thru the same wires/satellite whatever ). Its a slick gimmick though...gotta hand it to them for that. read more
