The customer service was above and beyond in my opinion. Majority of flooring in my condo was completed by Direct Sales Floors. I had both carpet and plank vinyl flooring installed by them. All went well with no issues except for the last area to be completed. The issue was due to various reasons and took some time to resolve. However, thanks to David Borges and his professionalism, he researched and came up with a way to resolve. During this process, he was responsive and knowledgeable. He made the challenges much easier to deal with especially during the COVID pandemic. The project is now complete and I am pleased with the results. read more

When we moved into our house a couple of years ago the guest room had never been re-carpeted by the old owners. Not too sure why they left it out, but it stuck out like a sore thumb. The old carpet did not match the rest of the house and had extremely ugly stains. We decided to go local and have the room re-carpeted by Direct Sales. We had decided to remodel the guest bathroom at the time as well so it was good timing. We unfortunately couldn't find a carpet that matched the other rooms (it was a strange color and texture), so simply picked out a stain resistant, moderately plushy, neutral carpet that we liked better anyway. The type of carpet you love to lie down on if you know what I mean. Tony didn't try to up sell us on anything outrageous. The carpet we liked the best happened to be mid-range and not super expensive. Prices here may not be the cheapest, but they seemed reasonable (we didn't do a lot of shopping around to be honest). They came and installed the carpet. No fuss. Professional and easy to deal with. So now our guest room carpet still sticks out like a sore thumb. But at least it looks nice and it is by far the most comfortable room in the house! read more

Just got a new house and wanted to replace the carpets. Our realtor suggested Tony and im glad she did. He was very helpful, very nice and my wife and i got exactly what we wanted. He replies to phone calls and emails pretty quickly. I dont know if he is on the higher or lower end price wise but i really dont care. All i care about is pride in your work and the quality and he provided both. The crew that installed the carpet was also fantastic. Two super nice guys who got the job done in just over a day. The moved all the bigger furniture and then moved it all back after exactly where it had been. It was like they were never even their and then i had new carpets haha. Shortly after moving into out first home we had Tony and his team install new hardwood floors and carpet. He was able to find the hardwood floors to match what the builders in our kitchen used and now our first floor looks amazing. That alone would get him a recommendation but the carpet on the second floor and stairs turned out great. Our home looks new and more inviting now. As other reviewers have said, Tony is awesome and his team top notch. Tony is patient and professional and will always try to get you to save money. How rare is that? We had to splurge on the identical hardwood floors but Tony tried so hard to find a replacement for less. My experience with Tony is very similar to the one star given by Ken J. I had my home renovated this past week. Since Tony from Direct Sales Floors BID was 60% MORE EXPENSIVE than other (diamond certified) competitors I decided to strictly buy my materials from him (since I negotiated a good deal). After being made aware of my project schedule, Tony gave me an arrival time of 2 weeks for the materials to come in. He was confident that I would be able to schedule my sub-contractors accordingly to that time frame and just for good measure he stated the materials should be in no later than 2 1/2 weeks TOPS! To my dismay, Tony calls me with less than a week notice and informs me he was having major problems with his distribution representative and the flooring materials are not going to be available as planned. It arrived after 1 MONTH. So this mistake on Tony's part not only directly affected the renovation schedule but also cost me a good amount of money! After emailing Tony the financial situation... he felt that although he KNEW my schedule with the sub-contractors it was my fault for not giving him enough time to attain the materials! Okay, Tony's Gomez already has lot of 5 star reviews for his business, so this one can't raise his score, but add one more 5. Tony is wonderful to work with. My wife and I bought a beautiful wood floor from Direct Sales Floors, through our general contractor. At the time, when the general contractor told us he had a company coming by to show us some samples, we didn't remember Tony until he walked in. We had a great experience with him when buying some area rugs and carpeting years ago. And Tony has not lost his touch for personal relationship and customer service. With our 2 Golden Retrievers, it only took a moment after the installation (which went very fast and was flawless) for the dogs to make a scratch in a very visible area. Tony came right out and had his floor repair person restore it like it was never there. We have a year guarantee on the floor and the phone number of the gentleman who does the repairs. Thankfully, we haven't had any more scratches and it is holding up nicely while looking absolutely stunning (dark wood with white leather furniture). What really stands out is when the scratch occurred, we were a little "hot" as the wood floor was top grade. Tony has a way of taking ownership over every problem and doesn't make excuses. You can't help but feel that everything is going to be alright. Since then we have bought 4 very nice custom cut area rugs to protect the wood from Direct Sales Floors through Tony. He came out to measure, and then remeasure before cutting to get the "zig-zag" layout just right. He personally dropped off the new rugs, laid them out, and cleaned up and picked up the temporary rugs and folded them nicely for us. We had the pleasure of working with Tony during the past 6 mos. on upgrading flooring in two houses - 4 bathrooms, 2 laundry rooms, 1 foyer, and carpet throughout a house. We visited Tony's store after striking out at 4 other flooring stores which either didn't want to spend more than 5 minutes with us or wanted to sell us products we didn't need. Tony spent 1.5 hrs with us on our first visit! He patiently answered all of our questions, educated us on our options, and informed us of ways to decrease cost. The real test of a person's character is not when things go smoothly but when things don't go well. A few issues came up during one installation. We brought up the issues to Tony. To our surprise, he didn't blow us off as many contractors would. He profusely apologized and personally came to our house to fix the issues. He personally oversaw two of the major installations and conveyed to the installers what needed to be done. His expertise on the job site was reassuring because we didn't have the knowledge to answer the installers' questions. Direct Sales helped us out with a moisture problem in our slab in our family room. Tony came and did a moisture test for us. Then he recommended a seal coat that we could roll on to the slab. We hired Direct Sales to remove carpet, roll on sealer and then reinstall carpet. They had all this done in two days and we were not inconvenienced at all. I remodeled an area at my office and removed a room. We needed to repair the carpet where the wall was removed. I called the floor company who installed to original carpet and was told that it was no longer available. I decided to call Tony and he found my carpet! His crew installed it very fast and with great care. We had Direct Sales Floors install new vinyl in our kitchen. A small job, but meticulously executed. We picked the vinyl color from the samples Tony brought in, and he gave us a link to a website that had all the choices, just to make sure. I had asked Tony to extend the vinyl all the way under the dishwasher, which they did seamlessly. We originally thought we could only afford to get laminate wood flooring but we wanted real wood. HE suggested a high quality prefinished interlocking real hardwood flooring that is great and his installers and Tony's warm personality and honest dealings are worth it. When my husband and I decided to replace our carpeting we did a lot of shopping around. This company got great reviews on Yelp so we decided to give it a try. We wanted partly carpeting and partly high-end bamboo, with distress marks to hide any scratches that might be made by our 2 mid-size dogs. Direct Sales seemed to be the only company with the bamboo we liked and the owner, Tony, was very patient in helping us to choose the right product. Once we ordered the products and the installation date was set, everything went smoothly....or so we thought. The bamboo was beautiful and the carpet looked great. What we didn't plan on was that one of our dogs (we never figured out which one) apparently thought the carpet was a new delicacy so decided to pull up the edge and eat a piece! Upon closer inspection it did appear that the carpet wasn't installed tightly enough, but honestly, I expected to have to pay a lot of money to have it fixed. When one of the head installers came out to examine the damage we pointed out that the installation seemed to be on the loose side, but readily admitted the dog took a bite out of it. We were pleasantly surprised when they repaired it at no charge! The installer worked with us to find a solution to prevent this from happening again and it looked great. I'd like to say the problem was over but the d@^^! dogs did it again! Called Tony again, embarrassed, but he was cool about it and the installer came out again to fix it. I don't remember exactly how much the 2nd time cost but it was quite reasonable; the biggest pain was my embarrassment! We had one more issue earlier this year - minor, but clearly an installation flaw ( the carpet was lifting in one spot). It was repaired quickly and once again we weren't charged. This is a small business but reasonably priced, honest and responsive. Hopefully I won't have to call them again! read more

After seeing so many positive reviews about Tony, I called him up to arrange a meeting. He came to the Castro Valley store to meet us and showed us both tile and carpet. Tony was so informative and so patient! He stayed with us as we looked at different styles, explaining things and answering our questions, even the dumb ones, like a good friend would. By that I mean we never felt like we were talking to a salesman, he was like a friend who listened to what we were trying to do for flooring, and gave us his informed advice. No pressure, just guidance. Tony then came to our house twice, loaded down with carpet samples and helped us pick the perfect carpet. Tony came out and gave us a quote which we felt was reasonable. He told us the work would "only take a week"! We gave him a deposit; and they were going to deliver the wood in a week. My wife and I stayed home waiting for the delivery and it never came. We attempted to call Tony but he was on vacation and nobody else at the store could tell us the status of the delivery. The wood was delivered the following week. We were then told that the job was going to start on the following Monday but they didn't start for another couple of days. The work that was done was excellent; but the service was absolutely terrible! Instead of the promise of "a week"; the job took two and a half weeks! We then waited for them to come on the appointed day to put back our furniture as agreed; and they never showed at the promised time. We waited again for them to move our treadmill; but it sat in our family room for THREE WEEKS! All told, we were extremely unhappy at the lack of service. read more
