The Mazda CX-5 was listed on Carfax Thor 16 999. So I inquiredto see if it was still available. I went to the location and met with Al for test drive. When I confirmed the price that listed online for $16999, Al insist it was 17,600. I asked why did the price change? I have written down this information an hour and a half earlier. That was the first red flag. So I listened to his BS went home then I remembered to check my email to check on the inquiries on a couple of cars before I went to Direct Auto. Al had responded to my inquiry and it was addressed to me & he wrote yes it was still available & to give him a call at "215-698-8600 SENT FROM MY IPHONE" the email included the VIN number and the stock number and the year of the car and the mileage and the PRICE of $16,999!! I was annoyed and forwarded him his email along with the picture of the car ad that shows direct autos logo and the price of $16,999 !! I wrote: Question is - will Direct Auto Sales stand by their documented price & provide the quality of service your customers deserve and expect? He responds: we do stand behind our pricing I apologies but there is no where where the car was posted for 16,999. This has been on the market for 1 day and this was the price posted . 17,600 If there is anything I can do for you feel free to reach out 215-698-8600 Sent from my iPhone. I gave him the benefit of the doubt maybe he didn't see it. So I resent it. I wrote: You obviously do not stand by your word. This is a matter of principle.This was sent from your telephone # !!! I will gladly show you in person if you can 't see your email response along with the picture and price with Direct Auto Sales name on it. If not I will comment on my experience, the credibility of your company and the level of customer service you provide. If Al was a smart, he would rectify his mistake, instead of refusing or rather ignore the documented truth. Lost credibility & damaged his & the company's reputation being motivated by Greed. After 2 days he emails me and tells me he put a complaint against Carfax for listing the car $600 cheaper than he wanted but he talked to upper management and said as a Courtesy to me, he would split the difference. That means he would be charging only $300 more than the documented price !!! REALLY? Oh & I should hurry cause another party was interested. Bought a Ford flex from Direct Auto Sales 4 months ago. Found staff to be helpful but they sold me a car that needed many repairs. First I had to get O2 sensors replaced before it could be inspected. Last week I was driving home from NY and my car lost compression. I had to be towed off of the turnpike and now I need a new engine. I will never buy a car from this dealer again. DON'T EVER BUY FROM DIRECT AUTO SALES. They are smooth talkers and helpful but they sell cars that need numerous repairs. read more

I was coming to look at a car on Facebook market place and was directed to this address, which if I would have known it was a dealer, I would have just stayed home. The car on marketplace looked great and the sales man, Joe was nice and responsive. When I got here the car was blocked in by 2 other cars and was dirty. Which isn't a big deal, but if you're a dealership this is basic stuff. The cat was advertised as a clean title car, which it probably is, but it was definitely worked on. I told Joe that the price of the cat was a little high before I even saw it, and when I figured it was a dealership, that explained it all. Since I was already here, I figured I would look at it anyways. When I go to the driver side of the car, I immediately saw the two doors and rear fender was covered in orange peel (results from a poor paint job). I started knocking on the sheet metal to see if it was still sheet metal or bondo'ed over. The doors were still metal but the entire rear quarter panel was straight bondo. I told the sales man to not even bother moving the two other cars because I was not interested, especially at that price. Joe was not disrespectful but he told me I was looking for a new car because this is apparently what all used cars are like? He didn't even bother to try to keep me from walking away from the sale. I am in the market for a beater car but I'm not going to pay double the price when I can find a junker online and pay what it's worth. Again, the salesman was nice but he obviously knew I was right. 10/10 would not recommend buying anything from here unless you are looking for a junker and willing to overpay for it. read more

I find it astonishing that this business sells used cars without providing potential buyers with an actual on-road test drive. "I don't have a license for it," the salesman said, "but you can take it right down James Street and back." Failing to mention that James Street dead-ends in a half block, so it's like taking a test drive in the parking lot. If you want to put down your $500 nonrefundable deposit on a car, they tack on 3% as "required by their bank." It's insulting that they charge you $15 for using a card - do you walk around with $500 cash in your pocket? I don't. At least it was to the credit of the salesman that he told me that up front about that 3% (no doubt had had his hair seared on that point previously by a customer - or even he thought it was a bit over the top). Oh, and if you want, you can take the car next door to the same auto shop that does their work, to get a mechanic's inspection. Get outta here! Found a dealer offering the same car, newer model, much lower mileage, far better condition, and with the dealer's 1-year powertrain warranty, for 2K more. Well worth the extra money. And guess what?! A highway test drive (without the sales guy coming along, too)! And no $15 tacked on. Caveat emptor, indeed. read more

They'll sell you an extended warranty and then suggest that any problems with the car should be submitted under the warrant which could easily characterized as insurance fraud. Bought a 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman S All4 from Al end of November, who raved about the car's condition. Said it was the cleanest thing he had on the lot. First two weeks everything was great, until the check engine light came on. I take it to the dealer and it's a $1500 repair job. Engine light goes back off, but comes right back on two days later. I was reticent at first to trust a used car sales organization where I knew no one. I purchased a 2014 Fiat 500L from Ciera and Albert who I met on the day I went up to see the car and test drive it. I bought the car two days later and after five days started having a few problems at which point I called Albert. He never left me alone and did everything to resolve the problems and in the end all problems were perfectly and completely resolved. I cannot say enough about Ciera's and Albert's professionalism, their willingness to stay with me until the problem was resolved. They treated me beautifully and with great consideration and professionalism. Albert gave me a loaner car which was great and saw that the car I had purchased was in perfect shape before delivering it back to me. Here are the facts of the eBay Motors transaction with Direct Auto Sales and Carspot Inc. I will start by saying I am 2400 miles away from Philadelphia, PA where the dealership or dealerships are. I purchased a car on eBay after bidding on an auction. The auction closed on Christmas Eve at 6:21 p.m. The seller did not accept a down payment though eBay. (I came to find out that this was part of the scam) The listing said the item needed to be paid in full in 3 days. I contacted "Gary" the seller about the payment since Christmas Sunday was the 2nd day, and I would only have one business to send the complete payment. He insisted that I would have to pay on Monday 12/26/2017. I asked him if I should arrange shipping or if he had someone he worked with. He said he would arrange shipping and quoted me around $1300. Gary told me that his business was Carspot Inc. and not Direct Auto Sales that was listed as the eBay seller. (this is the shell game part of the scam) He sent me the bank wiring number. I took the day off of work and sat at the bank until the wire was completed. I sent Gary a message shortly after the wire was completed. I asked him to verify he had received my payment. He asked if I could call his instead of text. (also part of the scam to never have any proof in writing or text). During this phone conversation I asked Gary when the shipping was scheduled for. Gary told me he did not own the car yet and now that he had my money he would go buy it, and would schedule the transport after he did. Not a legal practice or an eBay Motors accepted practice to sell a car you don't own. I asked Gary to mark my payment as received on eBay twice. He assured me he had done it. I told him I was not alerted that he had and he again assured me he had done it (this loophole is the key to the scam). At this point I knew something was wrong. I informed Gary that I was going to be in Philadelphia the next day and expected to pick up the vehicle and title that I had paid for in full more than 24 hours before. I truly believed that if I did not go there I would never see the vehicle or my money again. I was prepared to call the local police and have arrests made if this fraud was carried any further. I flew overnight and showed up in Philadelphia the next morning. I was informed that Gary would be completing the purchase of the car and obtaining the title. I would have to wait until he did until I could pick up my vehicle. Now more than 48 hours passed since I had paid for the car. I texted Gary and asked where the car was and who had the keys so that I could inspect the car while I waited for him to finish buying it. The text went unanswered. In the ad was this exact language: $299 processing fee will be added to the total value of the auction. This fee includes a notary services, messenger. This fee is not negotiable. It is a fixed amount for any car-purchaser, and dealers are included. I paid $12,911 plus the $299 fee. For a total of $13,210. I have ALL receipts. When Gary finally showed up at Carspot Inc. after 6 hours had passed he said I would have to go the DMV processer with him. He forced me to pay the $71.00 fee to the notary for the transfer of title. According to Gary $15.00 of this was for temporary plates. The temporary plates were not part of the transaction. So why did I pay the $56.00 fees in fees that I had already been charged $299 for? Gary who is Russian implied that he had taken me to this particular DMV processor, another Russian owned business, because they were all "connected." So, after waiting more than 6 hours in 12 degree weather for a car that was supposed to already belong to me and after being subtly threatened with Russian Connected people, I was not going to spend any more time waiting before getting out of there. So did the dealer Carspot Inc. or Direct Auto Sales safety inspect this car and make necessary repairs that one expects from a dealer? Of course not. They did not even own the car until hours after I was in the dealership waiting for it. Was it safe to drive more than 2400 miles? NO! There were lights not working, the wipers did not work, the check engine light came on in the first hour, and the brakes need to be replaced. So, what is my recourse? One would think that I could make a proper review on eBay. NOPE, there is a loop hole. Gary never marked the item as paid. On January 14, 2018, after I had a complete inspection on the vehicle, I finally filed a review on eBay. About an hour later Gary fraudulently marked the item as "unpaid" so that it look like I did not honor my end of the purchase. Because of the item/purchase being in dispute the review will never show up on eBay or alert others of the scam. After two phone calls to eBay I found out that they are unwilling to do anything and will allow him to run this scam on eBay and make the review disappear. see part 2 read more

Do not, I mean do not buy a vehicle from these scammers! Bought this 2001 BMW 330ci from these shyster a year ago, and it's been nothing but issues from day one. Prices at $3,500 and listed in perfect condition, the car was all looks. They propped up the passenger side window that needed a door regulator, has a coolant & oil leak that I'm still trying repair. Money tight right now. Put in a oil sensor & rear light that was bad, and still needs a fog light too. I made the stupid mistake of trusting Gary because he has a friendly demeanor, wrong! Said the vehicle that I was looking at only had 30,000 miles but the whole underneath was covered in rust. Told us the vehicle had brand new tires but they were not new and some had plugs in them! Gave credit card info so they would hold the vehicle so I could see it and it's been over a month since I've seen the vehicle and I never got my deposit back and my credit card company just told me I had charges on my card coming from TEXAS!
