I was skeptical at first as I've never bought used from a private dealership like this. However, after working with Luis my opinion changed. He's a great person and made the car buying process a lot smoother. I would recommend going through him - if possible. It's a one stop shop, everything wrapped up fairly quick. The downside was coming back to get an oil change and inspection; I was there for 3 hours. Outside of Luis and the Spanish gentleman with the man-bun, the professionalism is lack luster at best. The sales manager has quite the obvious ego and it comes out when he speaks to customers. Everyone is bro, babe, sweetie, "ma nigga" etc. He certainly talks down to people (not me, but I witnessed it with a disgruntled customer who had a miscommunication with another employee). Walls separating the customer sitting area from the sales team would do wonders for this place. If the goal is to get a car for a fair price, I'd recommend checking Philly Auto out. Coming from a distance to check out a car you found on the internet? Stay away! I called TWICE before driving here. Confirmed the car - make, model, year, color. Confirmed the price. Asked about any fees beyond taxes, title, registration. I was told nothing extra unless I'm financing through the dealership. I said I'm not financing there, would that be a problem? No, not at all. Get there, and they tell me$2000 more than when I called, plus at least $5000-$6000 on top of the price listed for an out the door cost. If you're local to this place, and have no real financial options, maybe you can drive out of there in a nice vehicle. Guy that goes by the name "PMONT" he's the fatest guy there sold me a non workable vehicle for $3,500 plus $400 for tags etc. I came into Philly auto with my 11yr old baby because I needed a vehicle and I did not want to finance because I been that route before and wanted to own a vehicle out right. Anywho, he showed me the cash vehicles and which the vehicle I liked he stated the vehicle had 160k miles when the vehicle had 211+ on it, windows did not work and the car was tore tf up. My inspection stickers are from 2022 so go figure. Such a scammy place. Start with the non-negotiable $1200 lo-jack system and the non-negotiable $1,800 dealer fee in addition to the list price. So, add $3,000 in junk fees to the price advertised before any sales tax, license, registration or other legitimate transaction fees. Oh, and a lot of pressure to take out a 10%+ loan instead of paying cash. Also, none of the cars on the lot have any info posted when you look at them - make, model, year, mileage, price... nada. It's all very shady. I left there and went to a reputable name-brand new/used dealer in the suburbs. Got a better car for a lower list price and NO junk fees at all. I started my car buying process with Philly auto July 3rd. Today is July 26 and I finally got my money back. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to them to purchase anything! What should have been a simple car buying process turned into my family's worst nightmare. We started it with Angel, I'm not sure of her title but she's clearly over worked and under Paid because from the time that my family and I were in the establishmentt she complained about needing a vacation up until we were done with their business. On our first day there we got approved for a Chevy Cruz 2018. We had to go back home because we did not have both drivers license and we told them we will come back the next day. when we arrive the next day with all our documents and waited for an about an hour Darrell the general manager told us wait a minute I can't give you guys this car. It's a stick shift. So now he's back in the computer looking for a new car.it took really long and I had my kids there with me so I said we are going to come back the next day. The very next day we come he approves us for a Nissan rogue, but we need $1000. I had to wait for my check to come and when our check came( 4 days max)we where ready to go and get the Nissan rogue but then darryl call and tell us that he sold it but he's going to find us a new car. They did not find us a car until July 17 and that was a 2020 jeep Cherokee. We did not test drive it because it was 7 PM maybe 7:45 o'clock at night but we were advised to bring it back in the next day so they could get it detailed. Per my recording it says that we can bring it back at our earliest convenience to get it detailed get minor service work done, three days go by, and my car completely breaks down on the road. Apparently it needs a whole new transmission. I could go on and on and write a very long book report on why you shouldn't buy a car for Philly auto about how nasty every single worker is there about how they talk about everyone who walks out the door about how they laugh at you when you come in here and say well we heard this your radio add....but I'll just leave it as I got a car three days later the transmission went the end. read more

Took time off work, $80 round trip Uber to pick up the bill of sell. Only to be told later he forgot he took a deposit from another customer for the same vehicle. That's some crack head shit. They are extremely unprofessional, not knowledgeable in the slightest and even slightly predatory. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. It seems they attract business by listing low prices online but then sneaking in massive fees far out of line with what other dealers will put in. They also practice what I suspect are predatory lending practices as the rates they are offering were a suspicious amount higher than what I was offered elsewhere. They also were wrong about things repeatedly and doubled down on these claims when I asked about them. I was then subsequently able to confirm that they were incorrect from multiple other dealers. All of that isn't even touching the serious lack of professionalism. I heard them getting into shouting matches with customers multiple times while I was there (45 minutes), and for at least one of those the cause of the issue was that the manager Daryll simply misunderstood what the customer was asking for. He seemed to be an aggressive guy who is completely unwillingly to admit when he made a mistake. I don't exactly have a high bar for used car dealerships but Philly Auto somehow managed to drastically underperform even when judged on that generous scale. Avoid them if you don't want to be scammed, taken advantage of or treated disrespectfully. We found a car which felt too good to be true. We saw the car and test drove it. We mostly dealt with Luis who seemed like a nice honest guy at first. FALSE. He told us no car in the inventory has ever had an accident and that he had a carfax report for the car we were interested in as well. We saw a yelp review in which a customer received a carfax report of a car with a DIFFERENT VIN number but unfortunately noticed it after the purchase. We spent $40 to do a carfax report. The car we were about to purchase has had TWO ACCIDENTS. Please do your due diligence and spend time and money doing your own car fax report. There is absolutely no privacy, everyone can hear your situation which for some people that's not comfortable. I purchased the car in Oct 2021. I did not receive my car for over a month and a half. I had to force this company to hand over the car I paid for. The stickers on the car was close to expiration date, so I had to pay for new stickers. When I returned to this business for them to check the car, my car was returned to me with engine light and other warning lights on. Also this same mechanic did some type of work on my car at this time and my air conditioner stopped working. I tried to call and email, no one returned my message. The salesperson also ran my credit before I even decided to come into the business. I was stuck with using this business, since they illegally ran my credit after saying they would not. I never gave permission to this business. The dealership told me my car would be registered and I paid for this, the car was never registered and I was driving around with illegal plates that did not come up in the PA registration system or NLETS. I had to pay double to register this car. I left several messages and again the manager never called back. read more

Good Evening, This is Javier R. These people are crooks!!!! There has been nothing but delays and stalling on the part of Philly Auto to resolve this matter. I still have not received a title for the vehicle I purchased from them on 12/28/2018. I emailed Luisa what they asked for (OHIO ViN Verification) on 2/21/19. Luisa still had not sent it over to the 3rd party title place for processing as of today 3/7/19. When I spoke to the title place they had no record of receiving the VIN verification from the dealer. My PA Temp plates expired on 2/25/19. I called them today and they are telling me they can't​ give me Extended temp plates, giving me yet another run around​. They are saying now in order for me to get an extension on my TEMP plates I have to go to the DMV with my bill of sale and file a complaint for them to give me another set of Temp Plates. Darrel (the manager) Stating that Philly auto will reimburse me the $18.50 it will cost to get this done. DOES THIS NOT SOUND LIKE THE STUPIEST THING YOU EVER HEARD??!! So I gave them a call and let them know, they say it's nothing I should be fine but on my way home the car cut off on me on the expressway and I was almost in an accident. So they take the car and "try" to fix it. I got the car back with the same issues so then they told me to take it to a Nissan dealership so they could figure out the problem. I did that and the Nissan dealership told them what was wrong ( which was a engine problem) and that they can fix it for me that day. Philly auto told them NO and wanted me to bring the car back for a week so they can have their tech fix the problem which is stupid because it's not a technical issue it's a mechanical issue I think they (Philly auto) is trying to get the car back to fix the engine light not the actual problem so that I can drive the car but still have that engine issue, I just won't see the light. Also they never even got the car inspected, there were no inspection stickers on the car I had to get it done myself. If you want to waste money and time I say this is the place for you. I recently purchase a car from this dealer which died 2 days after from a dead alternator, the driver side door switch was malfunctioning and I couldn't exit the car, ... They also overcharge me $1000 on the price of the car saying it was additional taxes and fees because the car will be licensed in another state. I found out that was a lie and I have been trying to get back my money for the last couple of weeks... They also did not honor the discount issues through the third-party website if you make a purchase right away... They eventually repaired the wheels damaged from the last owner so I agree to let them keep the discount as payment... They also repair the car so it's driving again... somehow water is seeping in the trunk from underneath the car... I went there alone, as a female, one morning to test drive and felt a little uncomfortable with the comments made by the EMPLOYEES and an individual sitting in the waiting area.
