Service counter

This is a super cute place with a very inventive concept. Service was friendly, but by two very giggly teenage girls. My husband & I just went for the first time, and I feel it will be our last. The gelato is good, but not a huge portion by any means. I had a dipsticle with a full dip of chocolate, plus two toppings that were not a tablespoon each. Everything is an add on in price . My husband had a waffsticle and our bill was $18 and change. Sorry, I think that's price gouging..

This is an awesome dessert place out by a friend's house. We came here with them for a quick hangout and are looking forward to doing it again in the future! It's a bit far so unless we are in the area we won't be able to make it here again for a while. It seems like they rotate their inventory, likely based on what's in season, so I can't guarantee the gelato I liked will be there again next time. But I'm happy to keep returning and trying all their flavors. The dips and toppings mostly cost .50 each to add on. My favorite dip is the dark chocolate and hazelnuts which costs $1 to add on. It's pretty amazing. Note: this place uses nuts in a lot of its items so if you have a severe allergy, be careful! Very clean and friendly staff. The flavors are very flavorful and their setup is very modern and bright. I would go back again which is rare for me, this place is that good. The prices are a little higher than I would like but you get what you pay for and you won't be let down. Thumbs up!

Vanilla gelato with dark chocolate and Oreos

I have really been trying to get to this place for a while. I try to watch what I eat so if I decide to indulge it BETTER be good. Well, I was really disappointed today. I went in expecting a huge selection of gelato and a huge selection of toppings. That wasn't the case. I found something to get but I feel as though I settled. I had the vanilla gelato dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in Oreo. It was small for the price I paid. There were 2 young inexperienced girls working behind the counter. One was particularly silly and annoying. She basically giggled all while trying to explain the concept to me. The dessert was ok, it tasted fine. But it wasn't worth a drive across town. It wasn't worth the calories I gave up. I could have gotten the same type of excitement from a run to the ice cream section at Kroger. To each his own, but I doubt I will be back.

Dipsticle offers a neat concept. Ultimately, the idea of dipping a pre-made ice cream was cool, but the gelato didn't satisfy me in the way freshly scooped gelato or ice cream satisfies me. If I were to go again. I would try a dipped waffle or milkshake instead. There are places to sit inside, but there is also some casual seating outside for those who prefer it. Again--neat idea, and it would be fun to go on a date!

Green tea with chocolate dip and pistachios

This is a cute place with a fun concept worth experiencing, although I am not sure if it would be something I would regularly be a fan of or crave. You first pick a base flavored popsicle, a chocolate dip, and toppings of your choice. Between my sister and I we tried a green tea popsicle and an oreo popsicle. The temperature is kept very low to ensure the popsicles keep their shape and can handle the warm dip, so I think choosing a popsicle with a creamy or milky base would be much better than a fruit or water base since the green tea pop was very "icy" texture. For anyone not as familiar with green tea, the green tea pop was actually very potent and closer to bitter than sweet. I paired mine with chocolate and pistachios, to keep it neutral, but more of the toppings leaned towards entirely sweet combinations. I think it was a little pricey, but at the same time, it was tasty and fun for the experience.

This was the cutest place. It reminded by slightly if Steel City Pops that I we have back home. There was a unique variety of pop and toppings. I got the Strawberry Shortcake. I give it 2 thumbs up and 5 stars.

Stopped by this location on a sunny evening and the place was very quite! It seems like a brand new location but it was so cute inside and very welcoming from the jump. The employee quickly explained how the process worked from picking a popsicle to dipping options and add one. I ended up ordering the Cookies N Cream popsicles with a white chocolate drizzle dipped in milk hot chocolate sauce. It was great and such a fun experience! Price wasn't bad either!

This place is awesome! Gelato flavors of every kind. They have fruity ones, chocolatey ones, cream cheesy ones, you name it! I've gotten the strawberry cheesecake one twice now. The fun part is the dipping. They have toppings of all kinds: sprinkles, chopped nuts, chopped up candy, oreos, etc... I get mine dipped in either white or milk chocolate and then graham cracker crumbs for a real cheesecake experience. It's delicious! My husband is more adventurous. He gets a new flavor every time... strawberry-kiwi-mango, raspberry dark chocolate with pistachios, I can't remember them all! Long story short, this place is amazing and a lot of fun and you should go there next time your craving a cold sweet treat!

Great little place with a spin on ice cream. Staff was really sweet. I'm just sad they don't have one if these in Collierville!

Ask the Community - Dipsticle

What are the prices?

A gelato dipsticle is $3.50, and the waffle stick is a little under $3 I believe. Way, way too much if you ask me...

Someone wanting to find a good fish taco in Memphis, that's who. Despite my efforts, I have never found that to die for fish taco in Memphis, and that's been disappointing for me. I'm sure it's out there, and I'll keep trying. But in the tamale trolley, I found a great addition to the spontaneous food scene in Memphis. The taco was a nice combination of flavors. Hot (as in out of the frying oil) tilapia filets. Cool and crisp cabbage and onion. Tangy lime wedges. Spicy chili sauce. Double tortillas. Mix these together, and it was a tasty treat. But why was it tasty? Really, the fact the fish was hot and the cabbage was cold and the sauce was spicy and the lime added the acidic touch ... that's why. Too many times I order a fish taco and the fish is cold (or lukewarm) or the cabbage is warm or there is some thick sauce that destroys the ability to enjoy the flavors of anything else. At $5.00 a taco, the price was right (this was a big taco - see the photo I uploaded), and it's always refreshing to support a completely LOCAL food vendor. I now follow the tamale trolley on twitter, @tamaletrolley ... I hope they will park downtown for lunch to allow me to eat two fish tacos mid day. I also keep a lookout for their brightly colored food truck as I drive around town. I recommend you do so as well. Four stars for the fish taco.

Although many trucks were expected to attend, only a few actually showed up. Thus, lines were long, and the trucks present quickly ran out of food. I had the chance to try out the Tamale Trolley, by the time I was able to place my order they had run out of tamales. So I went with their next specialty on the menu, the fish taco (and steak taco). Now I can understand the rush, and not being prepared for such a large crowd. I must say I was disappointed with what I ended up with. I started with the steak taco, it had plenty of meat, but it just did not seem to be seasoned at all. The cilantro lime sour cream dressing, needed more cilantro and lime flavor. I ended up eating the taco with only one of the two tortillas provided, the meat to tortilla ratio with just one was plenty enough. I probably would have enjoyed it more if they had not used store bought tortillas, or so it seemed and tasted. I was happy that the fish taco that I had a little more love to it in its preparation. A nice piece of fish, fresh out of the fryer and hot. That made up for the mediocre steak taco, but again, ate it with one tortilla. Some suggestions that would make it better, some lime wedges to be served with the tacos, and a house made sauce to add a little heat. Drinks more exciting than water and coke. Only three stars mainly because of the fish taco. I'll try them out again to try their tamales, but not sure how excited I should be if they're served after being reheated in their microwave.

Yum, I would like to give a very big thank you to love desserts, and just need the time I was looking online and I couldn't find anything. I think it was strawberry shortcake. There was banana pudding. There was an Oreo, cookies, and Cream , then I saw what I think was a chocolate drizzle with walnuts on top that was my favorite. My first favorite was the Oreo and I took like the rest of the assortment to his class with the other teacher and staff staffers that helped. They all agreed that it was also yummy and I asked them which ones were their favorite so for the third time the Oreo was mentioned again. The next one that was mentioned right after that was the banana pudding. I like that one as well and third, but definitely not least is the strawberry shortcake . Everyone has a different pallet and some people like 30 berries in strawberries other style and textures with that being understood idea, love five-star, and I recommend anyone that would like to try decadent cheesecake cheesecake varieties or third and cheese cake flavor do you love a try I did, and it made for very special day.
