The young ladies were very busy but still checked on us as much as possible. We received water promptly and my friend ordered a sampler plate of hummus, Baba Ganoush and spinach dip. The trio was served with pita and chips. The pita was okay. It was a little tough. I ordered the Santorini Gyro. It had Gyro meat, lettuce, tomatoes, purple onions, cucumbers, feta cheese and Café Med herbal vinaigrette dressing. It was huge and was delicious. It needed a little bit more vinaigrette for me. I took a lot of it home to enjoy. Our sampler trio was quite tasty. The restaurant is decorated with Mediterranean decor. It is quite quaint and very cozy. A tad warm inside but still comfortable. And then, there's their Pistachio Cake. I believe they bake it in-house. I was expecting a decent slice but this was moist, with a decadent consistency reminiscent of a tres leches cake. It's light yet indulgent, and easily one of the best desserts I've had in the area recently. Their service is great. They're open late, a plus for the night shift people. The sticker shock total was OVER $22.00!!! Absolutely ridiculous to think I paid that for 4 items. BUT, this is NOT the reason for the review. The choc raspberry tart was atrocious. There was no balance to the chocolate to raspberry ratio. The whisper of raspberry flavor that managed to make it into the bottom of the pastry shell wasn't even enough to make out a berry flavor at all. If there hadn't been a slight thin line of reddish color for the naked eye to perceive, I'd have thot it was all chocolate icing. Sadly, I think I'm done w/LaBaguette, I refuse to pay their expensive prices just to receive poor quality products.

Breakfast croissant pockets: overall very flavorful. Butter croissant: not as buttery and flaky as I'm accustomed to having. Chocolate croissants: very chocolatey but the pastry portion was a little chewy and less flaky Pecan pie: pecan pie for breakfast, I know indulgence to the extreme and I'd do it again because it was so so good! There were many more awesome looking baked good other than what I bought but I chose items that I could compare to other places. I loved it all, prices were reasonable and I knew they were made with lots of love in house (which I appreciate). Lucy J's lacks the polish of a high end bakery but perhaps that's not their goal. I called to let them know that we were not satisfied and I was told to bring the cake back for a refund. When I arrived I was told that they have to test the cake first to see if it is not good (that is not what was said over the phone). They took the cake to the back and then returned to the counter and told me there was nothing wrong with the cake so they won't honor the refund that I was promised over the phone. I have always received great service from this bakery but this time the food and customer service was terrible. I will never spend my money on there again.
