But back to the ice cream: I had the Mexican Caramel...I asked for a small. I assumed it would only be a single scoop, but the small size is very generous. The Mexican Caramel had pecans (pretty sure they weren't walnuts) and caramel swirled throughout. I was looking for Mexican Chocolate, but the chocolate flavor is just...plain...ol' chocolate. I needed a pick me up so I stopped in for a treat. The shop is very spacious plenty of room to enjoy your ice cream. I was warmly greeted and allowed time to check out all of the offerings. They had a lot to choose from, ice cream, fruit bars and drinks made with various fruits and cream if you like. I got a strawberry and a guava fruit bar to go. I've only tried the strawberry one and it was delicious, packed with strawberries! The guava one is calling my name from the freezer. I may get up in a minute and answer. Would highly recommend this place follow their business hours. They say they close at 9, the other day they closed early around 8 which is unacceptable. There was a group of churchgoers who were pretty upset when arriving at 8:40. I've had a flawless experience when going but professionalism wise this place needs to update their yelp description along with include a number and business hours. So. Here is what happened. One day my friend said let's go get ice cream. I said yeah sure. I was thinking ok we are going to Walmart. He said heck no we are going to this cool place I found, they have Mexican style ice cream. Being originally from Mexico I was thinking nah. Surely that's not right. We pull up to the Michoacána on Winchester and it was like the ice cream from Mexico that I had as a kid. I bought one and then I bought 10 more. Then the next time I bought 20 to take home. Long story short they have a new location now in Cordova. I am a and a few others are super happy that they have expanded. Getting to know the owners and the family that runs these locations has been an honor. They are all kind and respectful. They make you few welcome and make sure your needs and all answers are met. I have yet to have a bad experience. No wait. I take it back. There is one downside to this place. You will get fat. But it's a happy fat. This is by far the best location of all 3 that are ran by the same family. Winchester by world over commerce and the one on Summer. We had an event there and it was great. read more

Elote is a traditional corn dish that I was familiar with from the street carts in Chicago. You don't find it very often in Memphis. The ice cream had very rich flavors and textures. Recent trip to Germantown had a few minutes to kill before Doctor appt. Tried the caramel and the pineapple paletas (frozen fruit bars). Pineapple was great, fresh tasting, not too sweet, very refreshing. The caramel was like caramel ice milk with a thicker caramel in the center. Both were unusual to us but very well made and tasty. This is another of the family-run chain dotting the Memphis area. I love their new sign outside with the cute little ice cream bars beside the name. The interior looks awesome with giant signs that I could read from across the room even without my glasses. Coming from California, Mexican food is a missed comfort food of mine. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a Latin restaurant in Memphis that meets this California girl's standards. However, THIS place opens up across the street from me in a time of an attack of homesickness and completely makes my life ok to continue living in Memphis again! And there was no wait on service!! AND the service was great! They made sure I first tried and liked what I was paying for! AND they accept Apple Pay (I can't stand going anywhere with anything more than my keys and phone on me anymore lol). I'm apparently real late because they're ALLL over Memphis. I ordered a chamoyada (a delicious mango sorbet with a sour and just a little bit of chili sauce - sounds weird - but OMG) and a tres leches ice cream, that didn't last long so I don't have a picture.... all for about $7. Not to mention the additional mango fruit on top of the chamoyada. It was soooo perfect and essential during these ridiculous Memphis heat days!! If you're looking for awesome speciality frozen treats, I'd highly recommend this place. My wife and I went there yesterday and I had the La Mangonada with Chamoy sauce. All I can say is that it was pure amazing. The sweet mango with the peppery sauce was a perfect match. My wife had the Cappuccino and chocolate popsicle. I took a bite from it and it was awesome. She said that it was a great popsicle. The staff in there was very friendly and gave me a very generous sample of the chamoy sauce before I bought the La Mangonada just to make sure that I liked it before I bought it. On our first visit, i had a cappuccino Paleta. It was amazing. My hubby had a strawberry lemonade paleta. He didn't say much, and it went down pretty fast. So I think we will be back soon.
