Wow this location constantly disappoints. I picked up 2 slices and the two pieces together were basically the size of one you would normally get. And it was cooked too long and bad. Usually single slices are much bigger. Last time 2 times I was here the quality was awful, felt rushed, and most of the time when you order online the pick up time is not valid and you still have to wait 15+ extra minutes. We absolutely love Dion's Towne/University location To order online is always seamless and there's very little wait if ever ... all the young customer service personnel, extremely bright and cheerful. I accidentally ordered my pizza's at the wrong location and not only did Joshua move the order over to this location, I watched him help make my 4 pizza's then he walked all of the pizza's over to my car. I have been going to Dion's since I moved to Albuquerque over 30 years ago. I went to the new location on Universe NW yesterday for 2 slices of pizza and my favorite Ranch salad. The Italian sausage pizza was inedible - old, crusty, dried out sauce; just overall bad. My salad looked and tasted great and I really like the romaine/spinach mix. A couple of hours later though, my GI system decided it had enough. The likely culprit was the lettuce and tomatoes. The grape tomatoes, cut in half (Dion's are we getting cheap with tomatoes?) tasted like they weren't quite ripe and smelled chemical but I chalked that up to vegetable wash. Regardless, I have to give this Dion's location a less than 1 star review and absolutely will not be back again. read more

So I moved from New Mexico back in 2020. But when I come to town Dions is always one of the first places we stop. I grabbed my favorite ranch salad and cheese toast. Quick turn on a large order 32 pies in 35 minutes. I brought in a diverted airline flight into ABQ that ended staying on the ground for several hours. When we decided to get food for our 160 pax Dion's was the name the local station said would hook us up. I have to give a shout out for Dion's on the west side near Cottonwood mall. The service is refreshingly amazing. From the moment I walked in the door halfway across the restaurant I was greeted with the "welcome to Dion's". Second time here, first time ordering online. The order was ready at the time specified, and the drive thru was pleasant. Small chicken Cesar salad was ok the chicken chunks were good size and moist. The Cesar dressing was watery and weak flavored. Some grated parm would have been nice. Thee pizza slices were ready and oily. The Italian sausage pellets looked like the kibble I fed my dog earlier this afternoon. The sausage had no flavor so I just removed them. I had ordered onions as well for the pizza but I guess they forgot them. The general manager gives it his special touch keeping everyone operating as a team I worked in a piece of parlor in my youth and I have to say that the consistency has remained the same since the first time I tried Dion's the 19th '83. This place use to be good but they placed "managers" with no actual experience to handle anything. I placed an online order 40 minutes before I got there my sub and salad were ready and they told me to wait for my pizza. I look at my sub and they put the two things that I asked them not to so I go back and have them remake it and I'm ignored for the first 10 minutes there everyone just keeps walking by not acknowledging my presence. Finally, the lady comes and I tell her what happened and she doesn't apologize nothing she just like will remake it. The sub that comes out doesn't have enough meat on it. The bread is burnt and I'm still waiting for my pizza. I waited almost an hour for a small pizza, and I kept having to go up and checking and finally after the third time checking the had placed my order on someone's else's and realized it was mine. I look at the pizza and it is burnt. I finally was so frustrated of waiting and asked for a refund and now had to search for dinner plans last minute at now 8pm. All the "manager" said was sorry nothing we can do, and "we can remake everything and have you pay again. I love Dion's. For me it has always been a place our family went after sports games or events. However, the last few times we've gotten pizza the bottom is always burnt. Doesn't seem to matter which one we go. The bottom is over cooked. In the past we would call, get it replaced and go back. Tonight I'm just to tired. We have always loved the Dions on Elizabeth and Central. The people that work there are always friendly and they have always prepared our order correctly. I am disappointed in the quality of their ingredients. We ordered a special pizza and a family salad twice in the last month. The first time I posted that there has been a change in their signature ranch dressing, and not a good one. It used to taste freshly made and now it tastes powdered like the kind that comes from a store shelf. We threw away the rest of the ranch dressings that came with our salad this time. The special pizza was good but not as good as it used to be. Their marinara on the pizza is lacking something still and they do not put much on.
