It seems like everyone in Albuquerque goes nuts for Dion's Pizza. My dad really likes it so we came here for a late lunch. There is a little observation deck with steps so that you can see the pizzas being made through the glad. That's pretty cool. The decor is quite dated, but very well maintained--very 80s with Tiffany style stained glass light fixtures. Were ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and green chili, an Italian sandwich, and a turkey and cheese cheese sandwich. I didn't taste the sandwiches, but they looked really good, and I was told that they were good, too. The pizza was deeeeeeeelicious! The reasons I knocked off a start is that we had to wait for players (paper) because they weren't stocked, the wait to get a refill drink was sooooo long. Dion's is a local favorite and it doesn't disappoint in terms of quality and value! During Covid, lines would wrap around the parking lot bc they were so busy. Dion's is a family favorite bc you can get huge tasty pizzas and large salads to feed a family of 4+ under $50! I enjoy the local favorites like Green Chili and Pepperoni and just plain Pepperoni. Their crust is the perfect crispness and thickness where the toppings are full but don't slide off from being soggy. We've only had Take-Out for convenience and now Covid, so that's impressive that the pizza still tastes pretty fresh. It also helps it's like less than 5min away. Reheating the pizza in a toaster oven is still just as magical. The only con for me is that their salads are great, but when they add the croutons or crunchy noodles inside the containers, they can get kind of soggy. This location has gone downhill so badly the past 6 months. The last pizza I got wasn't even edible - nor was it even sliced! It was just slimy and undercooked. I emailed to complain, got a fake butt-kissing response and was offered a complementary re-do. However, the general manager who contacted me, Griffin Quigley, never responded when I told him the order I wanted re-done. I guess their crappy service rolls from the top down. When a person is taking 10 minutes to order how about opening another register for the folks now piled up in line. Nope just cold pizza by the time I get it. Oh Dion's such a New Mexico classic. Green Chile on everything!! Pizzas are good but not out of this world they do seem to be a big hit and may love the pizza. The pineapple with green chilies is an interesting one for sure worth a try. The pineapple really balances out the green Chile. The sandwich's are where it's at for me! The veggie sandwich is sooo good! It does come with mushrooms but you can ask them to leave them off, which I do of course. You can sub out anything veggies or kind of cheese you want. I usually get it with extra olives and no mushrooms or tomatoes and provolone cheese it comes with green Chile and it's so good too.. I've been converted.. what can I say, gotta add green Chile! What makes the sandwich is the dressing that comes on the side that you poor over the sandwich as you eat it!!! sooo tasty!!! You can get fruit as a side or chips, there might be another option can't remember... they are very generous with the chips. Service can be hit or miss, I have gotten my sandwich made with all the things I asked for it to not come with but not a huge deal, I just take it off. Local Pizza chain that does a darned good job. As soon as I saw the parm and hot pepp shakers, I knew we would be fine. And rollin' into the ABQ in the evening, we were grateful they were still open. Folks were all friendly, and the place was clean. Prices were great. A 16" basic cheesy is $11.70. And let me tell ya, the pies are bigger than the advertised size. I tried their 505 (pepp & green chile), and ordered a 14". It definitely exceeded it's radius, and was mighty good. Another great deal is their family-size salads for$11.95. Like elsewhere, service has gone downhill. Perhaps with the legalization of marijuana (I don't know). Order on the app and they tell you to pick up your pizza and salad in 30 minutes. Then you show up and the suggested time and your pizza slice is cold because it was probably ready in 15 minutes like they used to tell you. Then you get back to your office only to find out they didn't put your salad dressing in the bag, no napkins, no fork. Seems like a recurring theme on the reviews here. Drink: Sweet Iced Tea has a nice balanced flavor--not too sweet! Cost for a large drink is $1.95 and pitchers are available for $4.30. Service: Order at the counter, pay, and they call your name. It takes about 20 minutes for the pizza. The Service personnel are courteous and efficient. Ambiance: It's a fairly large place (similar to a Pizza Hut in size), with many tables and booths. All tables were clean and an employee was constantly clearing tables, filling napkin holders, etc. Summary: Good food, good service, clean dining area, and good prices means 5 Stars from me! I order from Dion's several times a month and it's usually very good. The only complaints in the past have been the long line (which is not Dion's fault, I know they're just that good!) or that sometimes when I get there, they haven't even made my order and I've had to wait longer than expected (this doesn't happen so often that I want to stop going). However, I've noticed lately that the price of my usual order fluctuates every time I order it. It's the same exact order to the person on the phone every time but when I get to the window the cost of the order is always a different amount and I never know how much money to have ready. This never used to be a problem until this month. I check the receipt and the order is always registered differently. Sometimes I get charged an extra topping cost for ordering something on the side and sometimes its registered as having ordered 2 sides. One time they were charging for an extra pizza that I never ordered! I'm finding this increasingly inconvenient as I usually have the money ready before getting to the window and now I'm having to hold up the line even longer because it wasn't the same price as it was the last time I ordered. read more

Never had the pizza, but have taken subs to go during my lunch break several times. The subs are loaded, come with a side (chips or fruit) and are customizable. They'll really do whatever you want, but if you want to customize an existing menu item, it means you can't use their online ordering system. I get the Italian sub with turkey instead of ham. The small (6in) side is more than large enough for lunch. I always feel quite full when I'm finished. The wait time isn't too bad, even during the busy lunchtime rush. However, the parking lot can fill up and make getting your order a challenge. There is a drive-through, but I've never used it. Definitely better than subway/Quiznos/Jimmy John's. There is a Jimmy John's on the corner of Eubank and Centrsl, but it worth the extra 2 minutes to get to Dion's. read more

It's Dion's, an Albuquerque staple. So what else can I say? Great pizza, a number of great salads, green chile ranch you'll quickly get addicted to. However there's a few annoyances. I order online to make for a quick lunch. I select "Dine-In". But why bother asking? Half the time I'm given my food in Take-Away containers & a bag. Save yourself the money for the containers, save me from having to dig out my meal from a bag and eat it from to go containers in the restaurant, and since you changed your trash cans, it's harder to every thrown away. Then your employees need training in something as simple as loading a napkin dispenser. I can't remember the last time I saw one correct. Upside down, backwards, the napkins & holders are actually designed to be loaded a certain way so you're not trying to dig out the napkins. That short side should be faced outward and up so you can grab it instead of claw at the block of napkin. read more

Over the course of the last two years traveling to Albuquerque I've been to Dion's a handful of times. Mostly for lunch during hour long breaks during all day meetings. A few things that always stand out during our visits - its controlled chaos during rush hour (I still don't know how more people don't complain given the confusion that sometimes exists) and the servings are MASSIVE. Overall, the food is good and the staff somehow manage to keep everything under control - mad props for that. Of course, as some have previously mentioned, during rush hour things are slow. Which normally wouldn't be a huge deal, but when you only have an hour and there's about a 10 minute commute back...it's not great to wait 20 min before you even get your food. I wish they had more seating; as most of the time it's a struggle to get tables/seating for our large-ish parties. read more
