Words cannot describe how much I love Dinner Done. So, you know Hell Fresh and Blue Apron? This is similar but way better. How is it better? You don't have to cut or prep anything. Here's how it goes at my house: - Night before, we take out a meal to thaw in the fridge (unless it has now thawed cook option) - The day of, we Turn on the oven - Pop in the meal - Set an Alexa timer - Ten minutes before that's supposed to finish, I prep a veg or make a salad - One and a half minutes before the timer goes, I microwave a pouch of rice BAM. Dinner is DONE. There is more than enough in the package for two people. You could definitely serve three people if you had heavy sides. We've ordered probably thirty different entrees from Dinner Done, and loved all but maybe three of them. Our favorites are Beef Burrito, Caprese Chicken and Catalina chicken. The selection changes monthly I think, with some favorites that are nearly always available. You can order online and they offer Curbside pickup as well. There is also a discount automatically applied if you order enough, don't ask how I know that. I think Dinner Done saves me money, because I can go to Publix for ingredients for one meal and spend $25-way more than this costs. Dinner Done has literally saved my life. I have two little kids and I work full time; I love to cook and am pretty picky but these days I just do NOT have time. I've tried to do Hello Fresh and Blue Apron, both are tasty but too time consuming and I never know if I will have time on a given week to make the food before it goes bad. Even unpacking a Blue Apron box is a lot! Dinner Done solves ALL of this! There is the occasional mean I don't completely love but it's probably 95% of the meals I've had are delicious, and I have been ordering for several months. If you are on the fence, give it a try! Why 5 stars? Because the food tastes great and we only have to do the easy part! --- --- --- My wife and I have been visiting Fitlife Foods just about every week for years. We do our best to eat healthy during the week and don't enjoy cooking, so it's been a Godsend. But with that many Fitlife meals in our rearview, we've gotten a bit tired of the options and felt like we needed a little break. I'd been wanting to try Dinner Done for a while now, so it seemed like the opportune time. We've now eaten a handful of items and they have all ranged from good to great. We've tried bourbon chicken, loaded mashed potatoes, shrimp milano, meatballs, schnitzel, spaghetti and meatballs, pina colada cake and a few other things that I'm forgetting. I suppose the shrimp milano was my least favorite out of the group, but it was still a very solid meal. The bbq meatballs and loaded mashed potatoes was probably my favorite concoction. We haven't participated in the cooking experience of what Dinner Done offers. With a newborn in the house, I don't foresee us having time to do that anytime soon, but maybe someday! The only negative to Dinner Done is that I enjoy the meals so much that I end up eating well beyond a "healthy" portion every night. The portions are listed as for "2-3 people, depending on hunger," so what happens every night is that I end up eating at least two portions worth, because what's left after we both eat never seems to be quite enough to save for leftovers. I had a fantastic experience here. I was a little hesitant at the initial price of the meals. $100 for 4 meals, sounds a bit high. In actuality you are able to split the meals into two making at least 8 meals at that price that will feed 2-3 people. These meals are made with good cuts of meats, fresh herbs, and high quality ingredients. I went with a group of girls as an event. They served us appetizers, wine, and soft drinks beforehand. As a bonus to the group event they gave us a dessert to prepare free of charge. I was a little overwhelmed to make the meals, but the instructions and food are all prepped to easily put the meals together. I've had a chance to try each meal I prepared, and they are all unique and nothing I would normally prep at home. Bourbon chicken, chicken herb stuffed pastries, flank steak, and broccoli cheddar stuffed chicken. They all come with labels, so anyone can cook them the day of. I even gifted a meal to a friend who just had a baby. The only meal we didn't love was the bourbon chicken. Mostly because it had too much fresh garlic. In the future I will watch how much I add. Some of the meals come with a rice side but most are stand alone. You can purchase sides for a very good price. Large helpings for around $5. I bought the Asian green beans and twice baked mash potatoes. The dessert was a delicious chocolate puff pastry. I made it when the in-laws were visiting and they were impressed! I REALLY like this place. I've only been once, but I love the concept, the people and the end product. High quality ingredients at working stations with recipes YOU follow and make yourself. Then, you take the food home, freeze it and cook it later. All you need to do is go to the grocery store and buy some side dishes, and BOOM! Dinner is done. When I went, there were about 30 of us, and there was plenty of elbow room for us all to whip up our meals. The prep tables are big and the work stations are sanitary as well as orderly. We've been to Dinner Done many times over the years and it's a great help for busy people who want to prepare their own meals. I imagine it would be especially great for working moms. One thing we love is their Valentine's Day menu. They pre-prepare everything and you just pick it up (fresh, not frozen) to cook at home. They make it really simple and include EVERYTHING (even butter for the rolls and chopped parsley for garnish). You end up with very few dirty dishes and have a great time at home without fighting the crowds and paying too much for some stupid prix fixe menu. A family member gave my 90 year old mom a gift certificate, so she could get some homemade frozen dinners & not cook. The store is very clean & fairly well laid out. This is not a new concept. They have the various stations for people to run in & put together a good meal or several. The selection is listed, all the ingredients you need to prepare dish have been misen placed for your convenience & aluminum to go containers are also in reach. The concept started many years ago, I believe with blue apron. I can appreciate the concept of making 1 or more meals to take home to eat or freeze, but I have some problems with the concept also. Actually you have no idea of the actual quality of the food you are using. There was staff visible & no other customers, but no personable interactions, explanations or assistance. When I asked a question I recieved a curt, short respose, that's it. Going to the prepared frozen meals, they are not just your meat & potatoes. It is foodie oriented, with most dishes, my mom having never hear of, picky eaters.... beware. The sizes in my opinion are greatly exaggerated. If it is to feed 3-4 people, on the entrees, they are not including hard working men & women, that are truly hungry when they get home. They have "petite " selections, but after thoroughly searching the freezer section I found 1 entree. Besides entrees, they offer sides, appetizers & desserts that are frozen. The jury is out on the prices, since I do not agree with their stated serving size. I tasted an initial meal of bolagnasie, from the first offering my mom got, it was good, but nothing special. Due to the food choices this is definitely not the answer for our aging population. I see it geared to the millennial's. Yup, it's tastier than most store bought frozen meals, but at what price & not knowing all the ingredients. The store bought items must list all ingredients, but again you have no true idea of the quality of ingredients, that is a personal problem for me. I really know the store should take classes in customer relations & attitude. If my mom had gone without me, there is no doubt she would have left empty handed. How did I just discover this place?? Apparently it's been here for 12-years and I've been in Carrollwood for 10-years and never knew about it. Dinner Done offers quick and easy solutions to dinner. How many times have you worked late? Picked the kids up for a late soccer game and are just too tired to start cooking? Sure fast food is an option.. but just not healthy. With Dinner Done, you prepare 4 meals for $94.50. Since it is just my hubby and myself, I split each of those meals in half for 8 meals! We tried the Walnut Rosemary chicken on Sunday night and it was delicious! There were 5 chicken cutlets that I prepared earlier in the week. My hubby had 3 and I had 2 and I served it with a veggie on the side that I provided. My hubby is out of town tonight so I will be preparing the Curry Chicken dish I put together since he is not a fan of curry. If you don't want to prepare your meals you can pay a little extra and have them prepare the food for you. And for another additional fee, you can add delivery service. I actually found the preparation fun. If you bring a friend it can be a fun 2-hours. They serve wine for while you cook or water. I was there in the afternoon and had brought my own water but it's good to know for next time. There are about 12-13 recipes to choose from every month. And if you go 3 times within 16-weeks, you get $30 your 4th visit. That essentially brings your price down to just $84.50 for the 4 meals! I will be back at the end of August for sure! :) read more

My husband and I have been here twice now and we love it. We look forward to going each month now. Since there are only two of us we have a hard time finding good recipes for just the two of us. We usually end up wasting a lot of food. Dinner Done is awesome because we can split each meal into portions for just the two of us. They're a little pricey but you're paying for the convenience and not having to clean up after yourself. The first time we had no idea what to expect, so here's a little bit about how it goes. When you get there they give you a sheet with the recipes you picked and paid for in advance. The sheet also tells you your shelf number (and they will tell you verbally too). The shelf is in their freezer and it's where you put your meals as you complete them. There are various prep stations around, each counter has 2 recipes listed. You can go in any order you want, we usually just go to whichever station doesn't have anyone first and then figure it out from there. Each station has prep directions, such as mix 1/4 cup of oil and one egg in the mixing bowl...you prep your meal as stated or you can divide it into two containers to get two meals out of it. They have a wrapping station where you wrap each finished meal in plastic wrap and then you put it on your shelf and move onto the next meal. Everything is raw. You don't actually cook anything. Everything is kept in plastic containers with spoons to correlate with the measurement you need. We love this idea because we both hate tomatoes but love onions and garlic. So if a recipe calls for tomatoes we just don't put them on. Likewise, if a recipe calls for onions or garlic we add a bit more. You can personalize it as much as you want. They also have a freezer filled with some premade meals and sides. We love the quiche lorraine, roasted red pepper mashed potatoes, and twice baked mashed potatoes. If you're a family of two you will love this place because you don't end up wasting so much food. The convenience factor is huge, but I stopped using them because despite numerous requests they do not offer any entrees that use organic ingredients or even just antibiotic free meats. Yes, this would cost more, but myself and others would be willing to pay a little more for higher quality. Have you priced cancer lately? Numerous studies have touted the health benefits of eating organic produce and antibiotic free meats. My wife recently tried this out and loved it. Food, ingredients and seasonings are all fresh. You still need to prepare and cook! But eliminate pushing carts through busy grocery store aisles, standing in line at the butcher and deli counter, reading the labels on a variety of seasonings and coming up with a menu all together and you've just cut down hours upon hours from the entire cooking experience. My husband and I always made enough picks off the menu, split them in two, and had enough for a months worth of meals M-F. We always found the portions to be sufficient and served them with a side of veggies and a starch. I have even gifted certificates to friends still residing there. And no we are not millennials. As far as the organic goes, that might be a plus, but certainly not required. Their model is pre-prepared food not specialty foods. That would have to impact the price.
