Unique concept, great flavors--but the setup left us puzzled This place had a quirky, almost cafeteria-style setup that caught us off guard. No hostess when we walked in--just a basket with menus and a clear expectation to fend for ourselves. Ordering involved walking up to a lone register, selecting everything upfront (soups, salads, mains, drinks, dessert), and tipping before any interaction or service. That felt a bit premature, especially since there wasn't an option to simply request another drink mid-meal without repeating the process entirely. Water was self-serve, with empty cups handed to us on a tray, along with a table number stand to place wherever we chose to sit. We opted for the patio--less noisy and free from the Chuck E. Cheese-like energy happening inside. The bread and dip? Absolutely phenomenal. Three petite slices served with a rich olive oil herb dip that was easily the highlight. We regretted skipping appetizers (mostly fried), though the Caprese salad sounded promising in hindsight. For mains, we tried the Friday special--shrimp scampi. The shrimp arrived separate from the noodles, which was fine once we combined them. The portion felt underwhelming given the oversized plate. Our server made two brief appearances--to deliver the bread and then the entrée. Drinks were okay. I ordered an adult lemonade that tasted great but came in a tiny glass. I considered a second, but the idea of trekking back inside, reordering, and pre-tipping again wasn't appealing--especially with a wait of 15+ minutes for that first drink. Dessert was tempting--gelato looked amazing. If we return, it might just be for a to-go treat. Overall, the food wasn't bad, and friends have had great experiences with their catering. But the dine-in experience felt fragmented and impersonal. I'm curious to try their Lutz location--though takeout sounds more appealing than navigating this format again.

I really want to like Mandola's but it's still average at best. I used to think that their sauce was salty and today it lacked flavor. I got the cheese ravioli and requested cheese on top. It was bland. The bread they serve at the table is yummy and I love that they have crisp Coke products from the fountain. It just hits in a good way when you have a nice crisp Coke! Staff was friendly. Seating is open -- you walk in and place your order at the register, given a table number and you choose your seat. Indoor and outside seating available. Dessert and coffee bar is separate and you pay separate too.

Walked in for dessert and got hit by a freight train of Parmigiano-Reggiano air. Ten seconds later I'm in line ordering a second dinner while shoving desserts in my pockets for later.

This might be the best full service/ quick casual family Italian restaurant. The concept is great! Step inside, pick up a menu, order and pay at the counter for all food and beverages, find an open table and take the number plaquard to display on the table and food is delivered. They will also bring out complimentary foccacio bread and an herbed olive oil for dipping. I went there on a Friday evening and though it was steadily busy, it was never over crowded. The staff was excellent in bringing out the food when it was ready and all was served at the proper temperatures. We loved all of the food from the kids meals of Ravioli and pizza to their pasta dishes and salad. Portion sized were reasonable and the prices were fair. I liked that the kids also got a small scoop of Gelato after their meal. The dessert area was very good with many sugary choices. Cakes and cookies, Gelato and Cannolis. All very delicious looking. The ambiance is very kid friendly but also bistro style with a big open kitchen where you can watch you food being prepared. There is also a small bar area for those who are just not hungry enough for a table seating. This is a great place for a birthday/team party or a family get together in a very casual environment.

Had an amazing experience for my first time at Mandola's. Autumn was a great server and hooked us up with some free desserts to try at the end of our visit. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Definitely will return

Mandola's is great for lunch or dinner. Super easy and convenient. You order everything at the counter and they'll bring your order to you when it's ready. They serve every table complimentary bread. For lunch I've ordered the Cheese Ravioli that comes with a side salad. For dinner I've ordered the Baked Ziti. Love the dessert bar with yummy tiramisu, cakes, cannolis and different flavors of gelato to choose from.

The food and service are absolutely great. You come in grab a menu and then you go to the order place when you're done eating they have we get one free dessert. This place is absolutely amazing. The cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen. They even have a change station for babies with diapers.

Their food is delicious! It's an italian restaurant with ranges of dishes, pizza, and pastas. They're super quick bringing out dishes and they give out bread and dip!! Which is so yummy i have to stop myself from eating it so i don't get full before the main meal! I'm pretty basic so i got a pesto mozzarella tomato chicken sandwich with fries and it was so good! My mom got a chicken dish with mushrooms and sautéed vegetables which i tried and it was also delicious! The place is nice to sit inside and decorated and their cafe has beautiful gelatos.

Unfortunately, since I last visited Mandola's two years ago, the quality of the food has decreased significantly. I ordered the cup of the Italian Wedding Soup and it was extremely bland and very salty. The focaccia bread used to be more flavorful, but it now was dry and lacked any seasoning. In terms of service, one of our items we ordered was forgotten about and we needed to ask for it in order to receive it. Items for one table also came out at entirely different times, which is not ideal for a group eating together. I hope Mandola's starts to emphasize an increased quality and care for their food.

Absolutely recommend. 20/10 no notes!!!…read more Tucked into a plaza, I've seen this spot so many times and finally was able to check it out. The inside is a decent size with tables, cute decor and lots of plants. When I first walked in, I was taken back by how beautiful the pastry display cases were!! I had the hardest time choosing which pastry to get because they all looked like works of art!! Super friendly staff, great service but now to get to the goods: the coffee and pasties. This is a true authentic French bakery, no doubt in my mind. The iced salted caramel latte is the best I have EVER had. I could taste every flavor and it blended with the coffee perfectly. The ham and cheese croissant was so flakey, the perfect ham ratio and just all around fantastic. The pastry I got had raspberry jam and white chocolate ganache (I don't remember the name of it) and it was seriously the best pastry I've ever had. Most pastries can be too sweet, but this was just right. The jam tasted fresh and homemade (probably is!) and the white chocolate ganache gave it just a touch of sweetness. It is a little pricey so be warned: $48 for two coffees and two pastries. Definitely worth a splurge!!

The space is quaint, modern but inviting. The pastries are truly the star of the show. I stopped in around 4 PM and parking was easy to find. The service was also excellent. The person behind the counter was very welcoming and even helped recommend pastries based on our palate preferences, which made the experience feel more personal and thoughtful. What I ordered: two pastries, the strawberry Japanese cheesecake and the goat cheese carrot cake. The strawberry Japanese cheesecake ($15) was a perfect balance of fruity freshness and caramelized richness with a creamy finish. It was not overly sweet and the fruit and cream notes really stood out in every bite. The goat cheese carrot cake ($16) was my favorite. I would go back just for this. It was moist, rich, and had a tangy goat cheese filling that created a very creamy, complex flavor profile. So delicious. The prices are on the steeper side but I love a baker who knows their worth. Totally worth it for the quality.

They have four locations, and we went to the one in the Ybor City Historic District. La Segunda is an institution for Cuban bread and pastries, baking 18K loaves daily and ships nationwide via Goldbelly. Our niece's BF is Cuban, and he said buy anything with guava. In the box (see photo), we bought two each of guava flip (kind of a folded tart or empanada), guava turnover, and guava flip with cream cheese. All of them are delicious! I like the flaky guava turnovers the most even though they didn't survive the transportation across the country in my backpack as well as some of the others. Even though slightly crumbly, still yummy! I also bought butter cookies, sold by the pound. Those are relatively ordinary; I'll skip those in the future. Next time, we are carrying Cuban sandwiches home! I really wish I carried them home. I was having Cuban sandwich withdrawal. This location is older but functional; there isn't seating. Their customers know what they want, and everything moves FAST. If it's your visit (like it was for us), I suggest looking at the menu online to know what to order. The service is friendly, even though I can tell he was a bit exasperated that I didn't just yell out my order and I asked questions. I honestly don't fault him. Busy places have their own pace, and the customers are the ones to keep up. That's perfectly ok.

Cake. Latte. Bread. Pastries. What more can a woman ask for???!!! I was already swooning over the photos and menu options seen on Yelp and Google, but TASTING is BELIEVING and now I'm so glad that I can say it's everything I hoped it would be. It's like a little piece of Paris right here in Tampa! (I've been). So I've come for cake, stayed for latte and quiche, and because why not, threw in the salad so that lunch and dinner is taken care of, too! Okay, first off...what I got. The quiche is light and airy, and is basically a croissant with quiche filling instead of a quiche slice. I love croissants, so this was a nice treat for me that I could hold in my hand. The Salted Caramel Latte I thought was pretty unique, because yes, there's a PRETZEL on top of it (which I plucked off and ate the first thing when I got it. Tasted rich and delicious, and was a great companion for my food. Now, usually I don't bat so much as an eye for a salad, but that Korean beef salad looked fresh and yummy, and it would definitely take care of dinner for the day because, why not, while I'm out? It was a decent size too, not too filling, with a good variety of veggies such as cukes, carrots, tomatoes, on top of mixed greens with Korean beef, which was the only heavy thing on the salad so you don't feel weighed down. It's great to know if you're watching your waist line or caloric intake, Paris Baguette has you covered with no problem as the nutrition facts are listed on the menu so you can make an informed choice. Of course, their cakes are so good, you wouldn't help but want to indulge. Which brings me to my final point. When I saw MOCHA CAKE on the menu, I thought, OMG I have to have it!!! It's EVERYTHING I could want and more and I must ask WHY ISN'T MOCHA CAKE MORE OF A THING NOW???? The sponge cake was light and airy like a coffee cloud as was the buttercream, not too sweet, rounding out my whole meal in nice elegant, finish. The shop itself is cute, but Muffin and I ate outside since the outside area is dog friendly. It reminds me of those open-air cafes in Europe, especially in Paris, elevating my lunch experience with my dog. The staff is super nice and welcoming on approach, too. It's a bit of a drive for me, but it's really not THAT bad depending on when I go and the business hours help, too. I can't wait to go back and make this a regular spot whether I just want a tasty healthy lunch, or I seek to indulge!
