The first time and last time I had Dimassi's was at their Cerritos location 3 years ago. It wasn't exactly good enough to get me to come back, but I did think about giving it another chance. Fortunately for me they opened up a location much closer to me, so I figured this was a sign to give it another go! I remember it being pretty bland at the Cerritos location, but not this time! The food in general was much more flavorful than I remember. Flavor aside, I do like their variety of different salads! Huge fan of being able to enjoy different types of salads/greens. Me being me, I could not help myself from getting a few scoops of rice. Like, come on. A huge round skillet with a heaping mountain of delicious golden yellow rice... How could you not!? Plus the chicken looked so good too. Loved the lamb shank. Very tender and goes perfectly with rice! Also unlimited dolma, falafel, and kofta? Amazing!! I mean, the kofta was a bit dry which is to be expected after sitting out in a heat lamp, but it was acceptable. Speaking of dry, the chicken was definitely overcooked. It was mushy and dry which is kinda crazy considering it was all dark meat. That means it had either been sitting for awhile or they just really overcooked the living hell out of it. I went during a Monday night, so it was expected to be a little slow. No one really came around to pick up empty dishes, but they did eventually. Besides that, it was very clean. The whole place is white marble, so it's really bright inside. Also drinks seemed to be included which is really nice for those who drink soda, etc. Overall it was SO much better than the last time I had Dimassi's. It's also A LOT closer, so I will definitely be stopping by again soon! read more

There are lots of salad and chicken options, a couple hummus choice, sauces, other proteins, rice, drinks, and desserts. - Favorites - - salads: Kale Caesar salad Arugula salad Fatoush Tabouli Broccoli salad Lamb - super tender Baklava was very good. Jam cookie was just ok. Potato salad, pinto beans, and chickpeas were good. Falafel was crispy and yummy. Rose water was not bad, light sweetness. There were a lot of other dishes I didn't get to try on the right side. Need improvement: The kebab was very hard and dry. One of the chicken dishes was a bit dry. The ice tea was very watery and kind of murky. I really didn't like it. Interior - huge and very spacious, numerous tables and seats. The bathroom was ok. We dined on Saturday around noon. I was surprised that it wasn't very busy. Upon walking in the restaurant was bright and smelled of cleaning solution but not in a bad way. I did find the restaurant to be slightly too chilly. Drinks were included in the price which was nice. The food was labeled well and presented nicely. I especially liked the hummus and baklava. My family and I finally found another good place to have lunch! We went around noon and were surprised it wasn't crowded that time. Service was splendid. Price was reasonable for how much good quality dishes they had. $32.99 for ages 10 and over on weekends and holidays. It looks so beautiful, neat, and clean inside. It smelled fresh too. They've got a huge dining area with spaced out tables and more in the back behind the dessert section. There are a couple of nice private dining rooms too. There's a huge variety of fresh and delicious food to choose from -- salads, veggies, sauces (omg their garlic sauce is soooo good with everything!) and various meats (fried, grilled, and slow cooked) like lamb, beef kebab, chicken, and fish. Everything is seasoned well, not salty or oily. To me the star is their lamb shank! So, so good! Unbelievably tender, tasty, and juicy, melt in your mouth. Limited one per person, but it's okay because it's enough with everything else. Their fried chicken was juicy and tender inside and crispy. The other chicken dishes were delicious and tender as well. First time visiting this restaurant. The hostess Suzanna was very nice and welcoming. The restaurant is bright and clean. The layout is similar to some Asian restaurants, no ambiance. The buffet consists of a ton of food choices. I tried quite a few. Some were better than others. Certain dishes looked kinda dry, probably from the heat lamps. There is also a small dessert bar as well as soft drinks. For the price, it is a deal because you will definitely find something you'd like whether you're a vegan or a meat lover. I finally got to check this place out! It's a huge, clean restaurant with multiple salads, soups, breads, rices, dips, chicken, fish, and beef. I enjoyed the warm pita with the dips. Some of the salads were good and some black flavor and dressing. I didn't care for any of the chicken I tried. I did like the kebabs, but they were all burnt. I liked the lasagna, random, I know. They also have a dessert station with baklava and a few other pastries, and a little bit of fruit. There's also soda and coffee included in the price. Bottom Line Up Front: What? A Mediterranean buffet? So uncommon but pleasantly satisfying. The Food: Going to an all-you-can-eat (AYCE) restaurant is always about setting the right expectations. If you're expecting a 3-star Michelin experience, you'll be seriously disappointed. After all, AYCE is about quantity, not quality. Fortunately, at Dimassi's you'll get a lot of the former and a solid amount of the latter. Yup, the Mediterranean food (leaning more toward Persian style than say Greek) was enjoyable and just as good as some average sit-down restaurants. Of course, not every dish is amazing, but you'll find more good than bad. Note: The lamb shank was melt-off-the-bone tender ... but unfortunately you only get one per visit. A second serving can be had for another $14.99. It's the only item on the menu that's restricted. The Setting: It's located in what used to be a Marie Calendars in a strip mall at the corner of La Palma Avenue and Imperial Highway. It'll be easy to miss if you're just casually driving by due to the parking lot design. Thats a shame because Dimassi's would definitely be more popular if it was in a more accessible location. Still, the interior is modern and clean with plenty of tables and chairs. The Service: The entire staff is friendly but there's not a lot of them. Being a buffet, it's basically self-service, so not too much interaction. A busser did come occasionally to clear our used plates, but it looked like he was the only one clearing tables. They might be short staffed? The Conclusion: If you're big into Mediterranean food and want a rare chance to get nearly unlimited quantities, Dimassi's is the go-to place to be. It's hard to beat at $27.99 a person for dinner -- especially give how much prices have gone up everywhere, this is actually a fair price with great value. read more

Damasis Mediterranean Buffet is such a great find. The quality of the food really surprised me, especially for a buffet. There are so many options and a lot of healthy choices too -- fresh salads, flavorful kabobs, and plenty of Mediterranean dishes to try. They also have a nice selection of drinks and desserts, including fresh fruit and Mediterranean sweets. The lunch price is a great value for the variety and quality you get. Service was quick, the staff welcomed us with great energy, and the whole place was very clean -- even the restrooms. They also accommodated my little dog, which I really appreciated. I'm here to write an update to my review since I finally gave Dimassi's a try on a weekend ($32.99) when they serve lamb. For the price, I do not think it's worth it. Each person can only get one lamb shank and personally, it wasn't for me. I love lamb shank and honestly, they did it well. It just wasn't for me because it had no gamey taste. While the texture and tenderness were perfectly, it just wasn't gamey at all for my taste. Now, they offer another braised lamb dish that was so good and had the gamey taste I was looking for. However, even with that, I don't think it's worth the price point. Actually a good buffet experience. All the meat was tender. The salads was good. They have it split off between a vegetarian-only section and a vegetarian-mixed section. The dishes aren't clearly labeled with something like vegetarian so it's a bit harder for those without basic English skills to eat. But, they keep the place clean and they keep the food well-stocked. The lamb shank was alright. You have to ring a bell for it. I definitely wouldn't pay an extra $15 for it. The fried chicken is super light. Since we came here for Thanksgiving, they had turkey and it was surprisingly moist as well. My new favorite Mediterranean go to place! The place is immaculate and spotless. Beautifully decorated throughout. The food is so fresh and delicious. So much selection too. Their rose water is incredible!!! Everything is self serve but the staff is very polite. Just a heads up, this isn't like other buffets where you pay before you sit down. They charge you at the end. Why does this matter? Well if you go for a late lunch thinking you can have dinner as well, when you leave you will be charged the dinner price. Just didn't want anyone to be surprised. They also didn't have skewers or koobideh. Chicken and meats were bland and dry. Fish tasted like the cheap frozen kind, they had no shrimp or other seafood alternative. Desserts were not good. Baklava was soft and oily. It tasted like old oil on top of that. Main entrees were highly disappointing. I gave this 2 stars to be fair because the restaurant is clean, had a good ambiance, and they had some good items like: - Bread (made fresh) - Hummus - Baba Ganoush - Garlic Sauce - Lentil Soup BUT NOT WORTH $30 PER PERSON... The "Coming Soon" sign was up for so long that I DM'ed Dimassi's Instagram page to ask when they were opening, and somehow they decided to open the next day! Anaheim Hills/Yorba Linda definitely needs more buffet places, and I'm glad one opened up right by our house. It's located right between Pet Supply Warehouse and CVS, with plenty of parking. Dimassi's was really clean inside, and the food was organized. The starting position with the plates are at the very far left. Then you go down the line of salads, different types of hummus, pita bread & chips (which were delicious!), proteins, rice, etc. Desserts and beverages are on the far right in its own section. Everything we ate was actually really good and well cooked. Meats were juicy and tender. They were quick to clean up the tables - we got up for a short time to get drinks and came back and our plates were cleaned up before we got to finish them, so best to finish your food before getting up! We would only go during a weekday lunch, as the dinner and weekend prices do increase quite a bit. Also keep in mind that you pay after the meal & the prices are based on the exit time - dinner starts at 4pm, so if you come at 2-3pm and leave after 4pm, you will pay the dinner price. read more
