I've had this place saved forever and I'm glad I've finally got to try it! My best friend and I spontaneously visited and we had a great experience. We enjoyed the duality of having both KBBQ and Shabu. I also liked how big, modernized, and clean the interior is. I'd definitely revisit again if in the nearby area.

I've been going here for almost two years with my boyfriend now fiance. This place never misses and I love how the fan extends down. I dont have to worry about smoke getting in my face. Good quality meat, seafood, sides! Really good service always. Nice ambiance

The food was amazing, service was great, and I like that you can grab your own sides and sauces. Will come back again to try their shabu! Only had the bbq but it was delicious. Portions are pretty big if you're just ordering for yourself btw. Good vibes too

Came here because I was craving soup/shabu shabu but my partner didn't want soup and just wanted meat. The price is good and I like that they have an option where you can do the kbbq and the shabu shabu. We came here Sunday afternoon and it was not very busy. We were seated quickly. The restaurant is fairly big. There is a buffet section near the front of the restaurant. All the Korean side dishes are at the buffet. They had a fairly decent selection. They also had some hot items like egg rolls which were pretty good. They had radish paper at the buffet but it was oddly thick and crunchy. Only time I had radish paper that actually tasted like biting into a raw red radish. I did not like that for the shabu shabu they give you a prepared selection of veggies/soup toppings. They had the thick noodles which were not very good. I wish that they could have these items in the buffet so that you could grab what you want instead of getting this prepared tray. I also wish they had different noodle options. I did the beef broth and shrimp broth. The broths tasted watered down and were not very savory. The only upside was that the meat cuts were tasty. I think they have a good selection of meat items and would come back for the kbbq aspect of this restaurant but I would not recommend the shabu shabu part.

I always come over here to get bbq during happy hour. They have an abundance of buffet options. I really like their sushi range. Their bbq meats menu is also great too. Overall their price is good.

Food is great. The meats are tender. A lot of Buffet selections available. Price is affordable. Service is great. We came on a Friday afternoon after work. Lots of people and everyone was enjoying their food. We love the premium beef brisket and pork belly a lot. The place is also clean. We Will surely back here again!

I came from Maryland for vacation and was looking for BBQ and Hot-Pot near me! I came across this restaurant, and I decided to give it try, this place is great, I have tried my different BBQ places, but this one has to be one of my favorite! The service is great and so is the food! The overall experience and environment is very good and to the point! Big shout out to my server Jonathan, great server and he took his time to explain the menu for me! I would definitely recommend for people to try

My family and I had been eagerly anticipating our dinner at Bwon Shabu & BBQ, a restaurant I had bookmarked on Yelp for quite some time. On Friday, July 3, 2026, we arrived at the restaurant at 4:50 pm, just a few minutes before it officially opened at 5:00 pm. We placed our names on the waitlist and were promptly seated as soon as the doors opened. The meat was absolutely delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the self-serve side dishes and salad. By 6:00 pm, only half of the restaurant was filled with patrons, which was a pleasant surprise. We decided to order more meat, and it arrived promptly at our table. The customer service was exceptional throughout our meal. For two adults and one child, our bill came to $80, which was an incredible deal for a satisfying and enjoyable dinner. The restaurant has ample seating. Whenever you arrive, you'll be seated.

So glad we finally came back and gave BWON another visit. Over 4 years ago, it was still Covid times and dining out was still weird. Now, the buffet is open and sushi is fresh, the panchan is so much better, the bbq and shabu meat options are still great. The shabu broth options are still flavorful. Not sure if the happy hour deal is daily, but on a Friday from 5-6pm they give a 10% discount for HH! Staff is still super friendly. Service has also sped up as well. Oh, and they give marshmallows on a stick to toast over the flame and chocolate syrup to dip in for dessert. Yum! Just missing the graham crackers lol.

I ordered the spicy miso soup, and it wasn't very good to me. I don't know exactly how to explain the taste, but I like the spicy miso at Shabuya much better. The meat and the black dipping sauce were the only things I liked. The squid didn't taste fresh either, but I understand that it was probably frozen. We have to order through a QR code, and the staff brings the food to your table. Sometimes the food came quickly, especially the vegetables, but sometimes we had to wait. After placing an order, we also had to wait five minutes before we could order again. The staff were nice when they helped us, so that was a good thing. However, the restaurant was very hot and stuffy. They had vents for the smoke, but the air was still really hot. Maybe the AC couldn't keep up. It was honestly too uncomfortable to sit and enjoy the meal(maybe if night time it might be cooler). If you have seen my other reviews, you know that I normally don't write reviews this negative. This is honestly my first time. The food just wasn't good to me, but everyone has different tastes, so other people may enjoy it. I'm just sharing my honest experience because I really love good food. This was definitely a one-time visit for me. Two stars for the food. Service 4 stars

I went with the beef soup base and got the beef chuck tender and chuck roll. I was really impressed by the variety of seafood, vegetables, and noodles/ramen they had available. Everything was fresh and tasted good. She had the best playlist going and we just talked about music and it was great!! Can't wait to come back!!

What started off as a great introduction went completely downhill…read more We were served by a female with facial piercings and tattoos (not that it matters however important to identify her). My friend and I ordered the 12 piece total 2-item combination. We both ordered 6 pcs of shrimp and 6 pcs of rib eye for the upgraded price. Our plate of protein only came out with 4 pcs of shrimp so we questioned the server why this was so. She tells us its actually weighed out to 4 ounces and not "pieces" which the menu clearly states. We asked her if this was a new rule because we had dined here literally the week prior. She proceeds to tell us "idk who served you but it's always been like this. I always tell our customers its weighed by ounces" (she did not inform us prior to ordering). We sat for a bit but felt we were being kind of cheated because of the discrepancy from last week's experience. We called her over again and literally told the server we were not trying to pick a fight and we just wanted to clarify due to the discrepancy from last week's meals. She stated "you probably got less rib eye and more shrimp, hence 6 pieces of shrimp." However this was not the case, because we know how to count and its 6 pieces of each item in the 12 PIECE COMBO. So, eventually we asked to speak to a manager. She left to get Kozen (?) her manager and when she came back with a male server(?) she told us "the managers too busy - but he'll allow it this one time but like I said its always been by ounces". From there on out, she proceeds to ignore us, starts coughing (pretty obnoxiously and grossly, might I add) and speaking loudly to those around us, cursing and being overall unprofessional. If you're going to say your food is served in ounces and not by pieces as your menu states, you best be telling ALL YOUR GUESTS before they order regardless if they're returning or new. We had lost our appetite, could not even finish our food and were just trying to rush out because the whole situation made us feel so uncomfortable. She made sure that we were ignored and put to the side and the male server who came down with her tried to mitigate by checking in on us, however we had already been put off by female server and her unprofessionalism. Due to this lack of professionalism and overall extremely uncomfortable and disappointing experience, we left 0% tip (which btw, is extremely rare for us). Overall, the food itself is still delicious as always, but we'll likely only patron when Roger and Cesar are working (because they at least, know how to count).

I can understand how business owners, managers, servers, and customers are all caught within the vicious fluctuations of markets and so on. However, what I was recently served at Kaizen Shabu last week was, to my mind, an egregious example of a restaurant offering well below the bare minimum of what should be expected for the prices listed (and my photos will show this, I believe). At the outset, I want to say I have no grievances with the servers. Our server was kind, attentive, and was elegantly multitasking. Bravo. Now, the food: we ordered the salmon "sashimi" plate, and what we were handed was a platter of the thinnest, grainiest, obviously-thawed and poorly sliced salmon I've ever eaten in my life. I was a bit shocked. At Cal Shabu Shabu (and other shabu places I tend to frequent more often), sashimi is... sashimi. It *looks* like sashimi because it IS sashimi: a piece of salmon purchased by the restaurant and knife-cut into appropriate portions depending on what portion size the customer has ordered. It is sashimi that gleans in the light, where the striations of fat and tissue are visible to the naked eye on the fish itself. As you can see from my photos, we were served paper-thin salmon that I could barely peel off of the plate with my chopsticks without ripping the fish into smaller, grainier pieces. It was all but inedible, in my opinion. This is not sashimi, and to serve such a thing for the price listed is beyond atrocious: it is an outright deception. Now, onto the side of veggies and noodles that come with every order of meat or fish. Perhaps the cooks could not be bothered, but what I received was broken tendrils of 2-inch udon haphazardly thrown into a bowl. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the chefs, with a dwindling supply of food nearer the end of the night, or if this restaurant truly does not care about the quality of what they are serving customers. Again, I think my pictures speak for themselves. I used to love coming here as the atmosphere was chic, and the servers are so kind. After my last dining experience, however, I cannot justify the price of my bill in the face of the quality of the food I am being served. I won't be returning, sadly. I hope the manager has an opportunity to look at these photos and perhaps reassess what can be done to improve what they are serving their customers.
