Spaghetti and meatballs at DiMartino's in Covington.
    Mike H.

My wife and I have enjoyed lunch several times at DiMartino's in Covington, but tonight we did dinner. DiMartino's takes on an enhanced elegant ambiance in the evening and the menu reflects this. Service was very good as always. My wife enjoyed her favorite lasagna, which was quite good as usual. I had the salmon with vinaigrette glaze and it was quite good as well. It's easy to get salmon too done, but no such problem here. Succulent and tasty, just as it should be, with the glaze adding just the right zesty edge. The house Pinot Grigio was excellent with the fish. I also had a very good Caesar salad that complimented the fish and the broccoli side. In this case, the broccoli was somewhat tough with a slightly overpowering parmesan covering. Perhaps a little more butter and a little less cheese would be better? On the whole, dinner was great and we highly recommend DiMartino's for both lunch and dinner.

    Dinner Grilled Garlic Chicken

Update: great dinner. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana. It came with a great salad. The eggplant was delicious. The dinner grilled garlic chicken was also delicious. My first time here, I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. I was expecting 1 piece of chicken pounded flat and breaded. It was all cut up on the bread with very little cheese. Not impressed.

    Redfish and gumbo.

Stopped here for the first time. Had their redfish with side salad and gumbo. Not overly busy with great service. House wine was very good. Fish and gumbo were very good but plating could be improved. I'll be back but will probably try one of their Italian dishes.

Proof of purchase and cost fir the supposed large French fries

Food is tasty, however $4.50 for a large French fry is too much for what you actually get. I also don't know why their muffaletta is never thoroughly heated, the cheese is NEVER melted and I always have to put it in the oven when I get home instead of just diggin in!

The Eggplant Parmesan is the BEST in town! Their food is so under rated. It is one of the Best places to eat on the Northshore!

I recently started stopping by here often, once I found it! This is another one of the "hidden in a…read morestrip mall" businesses. Native North Shore folks might disagree on that point, I'm not sure. Being a native New Orleanian from Orleans parish & spending almost my entire life in New Orleans (Orleans parish proper) strip malls are a foreign concept.( At least the very large strip malls are. ) Metairie, jefferson, Kenner & the West Bank areas all have some larger strip malls. In uptown New Orleans the closest thing to a strip mall was Riverbend restaurant(1974-1987) (which became an Eckerd's then a Walgreens), Gennaro's Cleaners(before it became Gennaro Luke & Son) & Hibernia bank on Carrollton ave. In any case, I really do feel like driving into (hidden from view/ no signage on the street) strip malls is fun! You never know what little gem you might find. I discovered the North Shore Mandina's this way! What was I talking about? AAH yes, the whole reason I'm typing: Back to reviewing a liquor & smokes store: Town Crier on Hwy. 22 in the strip mall where Walgreen's & Rouse's are located. I like this place for the following reasons: - Ample parking in front - great if your in a hurry & just need a bottle of wine &/or alcohol - Competitive prices - Staff at all locations I've stopped in have been friendly ( hwy 59/ 190 by little Wal-Mart This is what it is. What it is is done as well as well can be done, for what they do.
