I'm done with this location (still love their wine store) - no matter how pleasant the moment may have been throughout the store, the cashiers at this location are horrific... the absolute worst. In an experience that mimics my previous review, but this time with the eye rolling Dymond S. who would not utter a word to me despite my attempt at pleasantries - yet she would stop the transaction to say hello and see how someone (who was obviously a friend) was doing whilst the friend was walking out the door. Then immediately back to ignoring me. She then proceeded to throw my Veuve Clicquot into the same bag as the Tiger Sauce - with nothing but a small paper bag to contain the shards should they have busted against one another. And then without a word or even eye contact, held my receipt out for me to take. What is wrong with this location that their cashiers can't just be decent human beings and employ basic kindness to customers? We're not asking for a parade or to be fawned over, a simple response to a kind hello would suffice. But you choose to be nasty, without provocation, and I just cannot understand why. read more

This place is so fresh and they really have a great selection! The meat is A grade top notch and so it the service here. Their bakery section is also wonderful. They have the best of the best here and I love coming to shop in this market, it is clean and low lit in here for a nice cool atmosphere to shop in. Theres a whole section dedicated to wine like a whole wine cellar in the side of the store. I don't drink so I have not been back there but I bet it's where everybody comes to get the party started. read more

I shop at this store on a weekly basis. I am always happy. Today, 5/31/26, I was extra impressed by Gia my cashier. She was amazing.

We got some incredible steaks from here! Of course part of that is in how they are cooked (kudos to my husband for that) but they were delicious! We also found a few items here that no one else around carries. The services was just okay - no one greeted us or offered help, but I like the ambiance of the store, overall. Well, I usually enjoy shopping here because it's a pretty good store but today I was in sticker shock when I noticed the prime ribeye was costing $25 a pound. The staff here was so extremely welcoming. We purchased 15 pounds of crawfish from the deli counter, not knowing that there was a separate restaurant counter. They accepted us into the restaurant anyways and allowed us to eat our crawfish, they provided drinks. They asked us where we were from. They talked to us for quite a while. They taught my less experienced friends how to open up the crawfish in order to compete with me who was bulldozing through them. Great atmosphere. Customers of this supermarket should be aware that many of the shelf prices are not what you are charged at the checkout. For example I was there this past Saturday and selected some jelly. The shelf tag for this item (double checked that this was the tag for the particular item) was $3.99. It rang up for $6.99. Long story short they would not honor the price. If they expect people to trust their pricing scheme then they made a bad decision. The way I was treated by the employees and manager (Blaine) was beyond disgusting. I even called right after and left a message for a call back from an owner. It's been 4 days and no call which leads me to believe that the owners are complicit in this scam. I realize the pricing errors occur but the lower price should be honored. The owners have lost a regular customer for life. I have no doubt the practice of overcharging at this store continues on a daily basis. So when you shop here you should check pricing carefully. Goodbye for good Mr. Acquisipace. read more

A true Covington jewel. Maybe the best (probably not BIGGEST, but....) wine and spirits section that I have ever seen. Don't look at two or three prices and think you can't afford shopping here....I can promise you that on certain items you will consistently save money here...meats are excellent and pricing is market or better. read more

This is a great local grocery store with a plethora of cheese and wine choices! There are also lots of local items with Italian flare! If you are not from Louisiana and just in town for vacation or passing through you should stop and visit! Pick up items for an amazing Charcuterie board and eat a nice picnic at the river or lake! I went to this store yesterday and picked up a muffuletta that are made at Central Grocery in N/O and it was great very fresh. The people that worked in the store were very helpful with the questions I had to ask. Can't wait to go back and do a walk about in the store. read more

They have good quality meats but always at the top of the local price range. I also buy Kemps Ice cream as they are the only store that carries it. Probably the best grocery store in Covington. Fair prices, friendly service and locally owned. They have a fantastic selection of gourmet cheese and an extensive liquor section. The deli has tempting aromas of baking bread to go with all of that delicious cheese. I also noticed lots of locally grown produce which I love supporting. There are many local brands, but lots of local brands that you'd expect from a chain store (if that's your preference). But did I mention the selection of cheese? This place is amazing. The wine/beer/liquor selection may be the best on the Northshore. It seems as if they have more selection than even Martin Wine Cellar. The rear of the booze area has a wall of refrigerated coolers. In these coolers are beers you can purchase by the six pack, case or individually. They have nearly every beer I have ever tried or wanted to try. Even with all this selection, I stayed local and got a six pack of Mardi Gras Bock by Abita. The liquor selection was equally amazing. There must have been 30 or more high end single malt scotch brands. In a locked case there was even a $1500 bottle of Cognac. There were several hundred, if not over 1000 different brands of wine. If you need some adult beverages, come here. You will not be disappointed. The grocery store part is smaller than the bigger chains, but it was well stocked with specialty items. The meat area had homemade sausage, whole filets and ribeyes as well as all regular meat items. We also tried their cookies and a king cake. Both were excellent. It looks like the deli makes Po-Boys, but I haven't tried them yet. I highly recommend Acquistapace. read more

I always come here for artisan cheese's, charcuterie, and craft beer. The store has an entire addition to the old building dedicated exclusively to beer, wine, and spirits; and the selection is staggering. For Father's Day, I wanted to buy Pop a nice single malt Scotch whiskey, but didn't know that much about the product. Another customer, apparently an avid Scotch enthusiast, pointed out two bottles: one smooth and the other heavily peated. Both turned out exceptional, and the prices of each was approachable for an entry level neophyte, such as myself. I have seen the light. Thank you, Acquistapace's for opening the door to the nuanced world of single malt Scotch whiskey. Who was that other customer? I don't know. Like children on a playground, we didn't exchange names. Sir, if you're reading this, and recognize yourself, you have gained a convert to the peated preference. read more

I am a bit mixed in my review of the store only because they seem to be out of a lot of the product I wanted. I have had times where the customer service counter was not so welcoming, but most of the cashiers are. The reason they get four stars instead of three is because they have a great liquor department. We live in the same neighborhood as this grocery store and shop here several times a week. The store is very clean and well organized. The only thing that baffles me as a Louisiana-owned business, is why are the boiled crawfish so poorly prepared? I read other reviews about the crawfish being "dirty" and thought to myself, "surely the management team has sought to correct this" and tried them myself today. They were mediocre at best. And yes, they did not seem clean at all. It would just take one extra step to make them acceptable. Please correct this! read more

This is a cool store and I love the rennovations! The wine prices and selection can't be beat. Also, I love that they have the Nur's Kitchen hummus and domales by their deli section. This is also a great grocery store to get those special Louisiana items. The produce section quality and prices have really improved and now surpass other grocery stores in the area! Also, the selection of both staple (ex. evaporated milk) and different (smoked oysters) canned goods is quite good. If you're hungry and lactose intolerant you may want to avoid grocery shopping at acquistapace's - but honestly, who cares, the dozen or so cheeses you can sample on the fly will end up in your mouth anyway. And since they're stinky and imported and delicious, they'll actually go easy on your stomach. And then you'll dump about three pounds of various cheeses in your basket. Want smaller portions? Check out their 'nubs' and 'stubs' section where you can get two-finger sized slices of random assortments for $1-$3. Giant wine selection, too, though I didn't peruse. Decent produce with fresh colors and smells. They make their own sausages which were also fairly good. Not a ton of natural/organic foods offered but what there is is good. Fellow shoppers range from the hoity-toity to the super kind and down to earth (one man actually stopped to talk to us in front of the sausages and told us how he prepared them [with apple juice]). My lips are still pleasantly smacking from the Vincent 'gouda meets parm' hybrid we got. Lactose intolerance be damned! read more

So far as I can tell, this place has the best beer selection in the area. Crazy selection of singles, including a lot of Belgian ales. I'm not as good at judging wine selection, but there's definitely a large variety to choose from. As for the grocery availability, it's pretty well stocked. They have a bigger selection of unprocessed meat than I would expect, and also a reasonable array of locally-produced meats and produce. I found local sausage without corn syrup in it here, which is for some reason harder to do than you'd think. I don't remember the price comparison for groceries, since there are other grocery stores closer to my house than this one. But I can definitely say it's worth the trip if you're into variety in your beer. read more

Wine department - 5 stars! Excellent selection and prices! Higher end wines are as much as $10 a bottle cheaper here than in similarly stocked wine departments. Oh, also it probably has the best overall selection on the north shore! Truly a wineaux's paradise. As far the rest of the store, well, it doesn't match up to the wine section. There are some nice cuts of good quality meat available but there is no butcher counter. The produce department is a bit small. But service in general is excellent. What they lack in ambiance, they make up for in selection. They have a full grocery, meat, produce, deli, and beer/wine/spirits etc. Some things are higher priced than other places by they had a lot of good sales too. They have very good po-boys, largest selection of alcohol in the state, and lots of local items. I don't live in the area but I will go out of my way to visit in the future when I'm in town. This is probably my favorite grocery store ever. They have a largest assortment of cheeses and they're amazing! They also have a wide variety of wine and other liquors. Basically a third of the store is a liquor store. They have your basics that a neighborhood grocery store would have but don't expect to do all your grocery shopping here. I only shop here for wine and cheese and their selection is incredible. It definitely has the feel of the small town grocery stores of the past, since it is. In my experience, the staff was very knowledgable about the cheeses and was very friendly. It's truly unique in this day and age with so many chain grocery stores that are great for some items, but pale in comparison to Acquistapace's selection of high qualify cheeses, available samples, and knowledgeable staff about the cheeses. I hear the meat dept and deli are great too, so I need to check them out, but so far I have only experienced the cheese and wine and my experience was absolutely excellent. read more

I lived over here for a few months after Katrina and wanted to check this place out because I had heard so many good things about it. Unfortunately I never had a chance. Also unfortunately I'm back on the Northshore for a few months. This time I made a couple of runs to this place and am glad that I did. The grocery part of the store is small but very well organized with good produce, meat, drygoods, and baked goods all at a good price. You can usually tell a good store from the quality of its produce and Acquistapaces has above-average produce. The meat department is also well above-average with more than the national prepackaged stuff available. In other words, they actually seem to have a butcher on premises. Finally, they have an incredibly large selection, given the size of the store, of high-end cheeses. Really good stuff. But I really came here to check out the wine section. I heard what a great selection this place has, and I was not led astray. On the radio commercials, Adam Acquistapace says that it's the largest wine selection in the State. I cannot vouch for that, but I would not be surprised. It is organized a little bit differently than most wine sections or wine shops. For foreign producers, it is organized by country then by red or white than by region. This is fairly standard except that most places the reds and whites are together. So if you're looking at Bordeauxs, you need to look in 2 places the white Bordeaux section and the red Bordeaux section. Domestic wines are organized a little differently...in a way. They are organized by grape. So all of the pinot noir is in one section, then the merlot, etc. Not a bad way to do it unless you were looking for a particular producer which will appear in several places within the domestic section. And it's actually consistent with the foreign section since most regions within a country focus on a singe grape. So really the store is basically organized by grape. I'm no expert at wine, but the selections looked really interesting and were extremely well priced. I randomly picked up a Spanish tempranillo and a Sonoma red table wine just to judge the quality of the low priced selections. Both were $7.99 and both excellent. I will definitely go back. read more
