What a pleasant treat it was to meet Ms. Emma, such a sweetheart and to hear her tell us about the preparations to make her pralines. Emma also bakes petite pecan pies, lemon loaf, rum pralines, pickles, okra... Such a cute shop!! She gave us some samples of the pickles, okra and pralines!!! The line was long, always a good sign. The friendly staff made the experience even better. When our food came out, the crawfish seasoning was one for the books. But those oysters may have been the best I ever had. The hamburger was also a delight. The space is cool. I love that they have a spare sink to wash your hands after the crawfish. Great touch! Maybe it had been sitting for a while, I don't know, but the flaky pastry had lost some of its flakiness/crispiness and had become a bit chewy instead. One odd thing is that you get your food bagged at the checkout counter, which is separate from the food counter. This doesn't sound bad in theory, but meant I ended up carefully holding 3 hot sandwiches, a small takeout container, and a menu while waiting in line at the checkout counter.
