This place is awesome! Only downside is that waits can be rough. They are small so there is limited seating and you could wait a while. But it is so worth it! This is a flavor its place as of lately. The General Tso chicken is crispy, hot, and delicious. The pork dumplings are so flavorful and the sauce they come with is incredible. We also love the baked and steamed pork bao. Unassuming Yelp led us here after a long day at the baseball park. Almost 5*, with all those reviews? Walk up, tiny parking lot, Bartopseating and self serve waitlist - about 5 or 6 tables to fill, a wait of around 20 minutes, tables seem to turn fast. One server with a smile, friendly fellow diners. Beer, hot tea. Order from the menu with a dry erase- we ordered almost ALL the dim sum! Winners- shrimp and pork dumplings, omg spareribs, the most flavorful steamed clam dish oh and the eggplant wrapped around a fried shrimp... perfection. We took around 5 FULL boxes home to TPA. Favorite place to grab Chinese around the Sarasota and Manatee counties. Best Shanghai-style dumplings I've had in FL. Shockingly (especially to my wife), I'm a big fan of their sauteed vegetables in garlic sauce - so fresh! Simple restaurant with terrific food at a very good value. Thus, it's hard to beat for dine-in or takeout. However, seating is somewhat limited... thus, I would suggest trying off-peak times or thinking about takeout. I was craving Chinese food on Christmas Eve so I went to Yelp and tried to look for the best rated Chinese restaurant nearby and this popped up. The restaurant was so busy and the takeout was ready after 2 hours but it was worth the wait. It's actually one of the better Chinese food establishments in this part of FL. The other places are trash. My favorite was the lo mien noodles and the hot and sour soup. It was one of the best hot and sour soups around. I also liked the fried rice and the Singapore noodles. The prices were very reasonable given the huge portions size. They really pack in the food containers very tightly and fully. Best of all, the workers were nice even being slammed and probably exhausted. I really want to come back for dim sum because of A. Their name (duh) lol and B. I haven't found a place with good dim sum around here yet and since the dinner menu surprised me, I am eager to go for dim sum. read more

Packed at lunch time; small,only 6 tables. Efficient, friendly staff . No ambiance. Does a lot of takeout business. Hot and sour soup was piping hot with less white pepper than most...very tasty. General Tso chicken was typical, pork fried rice had fewer ingredients than most with no vegetables at all. Sauce was good. Egg roll was nondescript. Good size portion for lunch . Lunch $8.95, soup $3.95 and tea was $2.50. Would eat here again, but would not go out of my way to visit. Note: I did not order Dim sum and I noticed as walking out it looked delicious. It has a small diner feel and is really clean and well ordered. My 9yo daughter's favorite thing on the menu is the Turnip Cake w/ a little hoisin sauce and I'm a massive fan of their Pan Fried Chive Dumplings and Chinese Broccoli. Came here with my husband for a short little date night. We needed something close and I wanted something a little different. This fit the bill. We arrived shortly before 5:00 and after a few minutes they were about six other people waiting along with us. When the doors opened at 5:00, all tables were filled with those of us waiting from outside. There are only about seven tables inside and a small bar area with four seats. Inside is extremely clean and no frills. All staff is very efficient and keep it moving. I was thoroughly impressed with our entire experience. Tons of dim sum choices as well as Chinese dishes. I felt I could best explain it to someone as a fresher version of typical Chinese takeout. We sampled a ton of dishes as pictured below. I ordered the House pan fried noodles as my entree and I was overly impressed with the quality of the chicken pork and shrimp as well as the veggies. Next time I will get the house lo mein as I like those noodles slightly better than these. But I'm glad I tried it for something different. It breaks my heart that my favorite server lost her job because " they have enough take out business so that they can get rid of dine-in". It was stated that they HATE dine-in". I don't know how you're gonna do steaming hot dim sum as a takeout for people to drive home and eat cold or soggy dim sum. I really liked coming and sitting down and having my pot of hot tea and having my egg custard tarts, and having my stirfry and maybe some dim sum. That's not gonna work now. I can't take a hot pot of tea home as a takeout. Also, on principal, I think it's kind of insidious for at least four people to lose their jobs one of them is a really good Server with a very pure heart. Another one is the prep guy who also helps bus tables a little bit. And the one that breaks my heart is the most is a very elderly Asian woman who does the dishes. Where the hell is she gonna get employed at her age? She doesn't speak English either as far as I can tell, that's why I think this is really insidious to shut down the dine in section, just because you think you can swing just a takeout. We have takeout Chinese places in Lakewood Ranch. We don't need another just takeout place. We need a place to sit down and enjoy ourselves with our friends and family. So based on ethics, I really don't see myself ordering takeout from this place because it still breaks my heart that these good people lost their jobs for no good reason I sent that instead of them, cutting out their employee costs and making more money, that they may find that their business will drop off by about half and they will be losing the money they used to make. read more

Wow, what a wonderful new year gem find! We are so excited to have this local chef driven Chinese restaurant near our home . Warm welcome and quickly seated for a late Friday lunch. Hope this does not spoil our chances to enjoy this new neighhood gem. Dim sum enjoyed included the shrimp and veggie, sesame balls, Chinese broccoli, veggie dim sum. We also devoured the crispy scallion pancake which was not greasy as is commonly the case Water and dirty and plates were routinely addressed. We order from here regularly- delivery via Door Dash. It is the most appealing of all the Asian non-sushi restaurants we have tried. The menu offers some amazing and unusual choices, including baby clams in black bean sauce, crispy baked BBQ pork buns and Hong Kong Style sticky fried rice wrapped in paper and seaweed. And, despite a large number of Chinese restaurants, we have t found one that really knocked out socks off. We have only been here once but Dim Sum Kitchen seems to do both amazingly well. I thank Chip E. of Bradenton for putting this on Yelp and giving so much information. We decided to go that night. We got there early and they opened right at 5:00 sharp. The restaurant is clean and beautiful. It's not huge but there are a number of booths and a large counter area for to-go orders. The dim sum menu had a variety of items. We ordered siu mai from the dim sum menu. They were delicious and quite large! There were 4 siu mai with chunks of pork and large pieces of shrimp. The dim sum chef really wonderful. We can't wait to come here for a meal of dim sum. We also ordered off the main menu. We chose an egg roll and Hong Kong won ton soup. The egg roll was scrumptious. You can tell it's made in house. It is so good that no dipping sauce needed. The Hong Kong won ton soup was also delicious! The won tons were large and filled with tasty meat. The broth was divine and I so enjoy the baby bok choy in it. Our entrées were House lo mein, Mongolian Beef, and Roast Pork fried rice. Everything was excellent and so flavorful. We were stuffed before the entrées came so had plenty to take home. They are still opening. And word has gotten out that this place is good because they were slammed with take-out orders being ordered, being picked up... plus the table service!! They have a Help Wanted sign and they could use extra hands. Be patient. There are so many to-go orders that, even though, it doesn't look busy inside, the cooks are always busy in the kitchen! They do amazingly well at getting the large amounts of food out fast-even with the small crew. I wish Dim Sum Kitchen much success. I hope they-eventually get enough business to open a larger dim sum restaurant with the carts. This area could definitely use it!! Oh, and open a restaurant just like this around Moccasin Wallow.
