This shop is a very decent asian restaurant regarding the general low percentage of asian population. They are not those road-trip American-Chinese restaurants that only offers Americanized Chinese food. They are actually pretty modern and well-thought. QR-code ordering menu. Authentic special menu. Chinese-owned. They also have Americanized Chinese food but most of the population go there to eat the grilled fish. The dimsum was decent as well, juicy, flavorful. The cart was only there in weekend mornings. Location is great as it's just right off airport. The staff was friendly as busy as they are, they are servicing everyone nicely while answering many Togo order calls. read more

They have all day dimsum and we ordered nothing but dimsum so can't speak to non dimsum items. Food was great and staff made sure the teapot was always filled up. Amazing service overall. Even the rice was tasty. Only wish they had the rice rolls which was missing from the Dimsum menu. read more

I'm not sure why the rating for this restaurant is so low. We came for Sunday dimsum and it was phenomenal. Service was quick and great, the ladies were all so helpful and nice. Food came out hot and tasted amazing. We've had dim sum in Charlotte and Duluth area, but this is our favorite. My husband even said it was on par to the dim sum in California. We live 2.5 hrs away but will easily make the drive back for when we crave dim sum. read more

Dim Sum House - pork shumai, shrimp shumai, shrimp hargow, pork soup dumplings, tofu skin with pork, chicken feet - Dim Sum Near Me - Morrisville, North Carolina

Food was surprisingly good. I was craving dim sum in a barbecue state. Spare ribs in black bean sauce, stir fried udon noodles, Chinese broccoli, sui mai, eggplant stuffed with shrimp and sesame balls were all delicious! I love chicken feet but these were not good. It had a weird aftertaste and not as tender. The beef stew was okay but I wouldn't get it again. Soup dumplings were dry. Gyozas were not crispy. There's a bit of a language barrier with the servers. I asked for no onions/scallions in the fried rice or stir fry udon. Upon checking my receipt, it was marked "no veg" and when I asked my server she said "it's just easier to say no veg." I told her we would've liked the carrots and bean sprouts, just no onions/scallions. The conversation was a fail so I gave up. The fried rice lacked color but had nice flavor. Ambiance is great. Wonderful decor indoors with ample seating. I would return when in the area again. read more

Overall, pleasant experience on a Saturday during lunch time. They pushed dim sum carts and there were many options both steamed and fried. I liked that they had a menu with pictures if you needed it and that they also came by and named all the items. This is helpful especially for people enjoying dim sum for the first time. This made me believe the waitresses were rather attentive and welcoming to first time guests. When we selected our dim sum they made sure to cut it so that it was easy to share and they also reheated items so they were hotter if they came off the fried cart even without us asking. They also refilled our water several times and checked on us. The restaurant is spacious and has a lot of room outside for parking making it an easier place to bring more people for dim sum compared to other dim sum options in the Triangle area. While I believe the service and the restaurant interior/exterior made the restaurant a great candidate for future visits I do want to note that the dim sum did not seem traditionally Cantonese or up to dim sum standard. There were some dim sum items that I've never seen served in Hong Kong or at traditional dim sum restaurants. Out of the four items I ordered, not all of them were excellent either. Particularly the soup dumplings did not really have soup in them. That being said they still offer the classics like shrimp dumplings, siu mai, and others on the menu but I will have to go back and try them since I ordered other items this visit. The pricing is roughly what you'd expect to see at dim sum restaurants in this area. Overall recommend to visit if you enjoy dim sum experiences. read more

Was not expecting Dim Sum House to be is good as it was. A very modern restaurant with attentive staff. My only issue was that I came to find out they had a different menu that I had to ask about after my dinner. I asked why was I not offer that when I came in and was told I did not look like I liked spicy food. Nevertheless the dim sum menu offered not only dim sum but different dishes as well. Everything was served hot and tasted great. I will for sure go back and try the different menu next time. read more

This place was great. I was missing good dim sum for quite some time. This place really got the spot. Service was a little slow, but nothing that was too bad. It did allow us to eat a little more in peace and didn't feel rushed, so that worked out in the end. The ambiance it great and matches the food well. We'll have to venture over again in the future. TL;DR When a restaurant has a 3.0 score on Yelp, believe the reviewers and go somewhere else. Came for weekend dim sum because they have traditional cart service here. What they don't tell you is the carts sit in the middle of the dining room with the food getting cold, and when you order it they take it into the kitchen to reheat it. When I told my server I wanted "fresh hot dim sum" he told me it was all fresh because it had been made today lol. The food might have been ok when it was hot but this whole meal was a disappointment. read more

The food was good for some and some were just okay but honestly it was a bit pricey for what it was. I did like the ordering system. The restaurant is Big it can handle big groups. It just isn't the best for dim sum in the area so I probably would not go back. read more

This was an okay place. It's definitely a cleaner place for a typical dim sum joint. The food was average to above average and the waitress was attentive. We came at noon ish after gym on a Sunday and it wasn't so busy. We ate some normal stuff but if u looking for the shrimp paste/roll they don't have it. They do have other shrimp options though. I would say go try and see if u like it. read more

So sorry to come here after so many years and receive a bad experience. I've enjoyed the upgrade in decor, dim sum pricing value and excellent selection, presentation and food quality. Congee is a rare dish to find in Raleigh and I've been coming here for it exclusively for several years. The problem? condiments - as a creature of habit in this situation, the hot chinese mustard (usually found in togo packets) is hand made here - I've always found this to be a nice touch. Last night - there was much communication breakdown at first as to what I was asking for. At one point siracha mayo was brought out. So maybe a combination of lost in translation and new staff was the problem, but after 4 trips to the kitchen and asking other servers, someone would have had a clue about MUSTARD!! Finally,I've given up on it, as the soup is getting cold and the server comes back again with an "chef who makes it was out - so no one else can do it" excuse. And to make matters worse, the server kept repeating herself over and over. Yep, the soup is definitely cold now! I'm no pro in a chinese kitchen, but this item starts with a mustard powder and some water...like wasabi paste - maybe the "chef" makes some personal choice additions, but in a pinch - I would have appreciated an attempt at the basic product. After such a long time of consistency - I did not truly enjoy my food (now cold) or experience. If you don't have an item, fine. Just don't beat me over the head about it. read more

Inside is filled with lots of authentic Asian symbols and posters. Really gets you in the mood for dim sum in my opinion. The service is fine nothing bad nothing to brag about either though. The food is top notch. Love the variety in dim sum and little plates to try. I just wish I had taken photos of the food. When you wanna try new dishes go here and do it. You won't be mad. Decent dimsum close to where I live. They have most of the essentials. The buns are pretty good, the turnip cakes were a little plain, the fried taro was kept in the fridge for too long; you could taste that it wasn't fresh. My boyfriend's dad had the Mongolian beef, which was very tasty. My boyfriend had the mango chicken, which was both sweet and savory. Both entrees were relatively high quality. Service was okay. They brought us forks for my dining partners, but the first two brought over were extremely dirty. After I told them I wasn't going to eat the fried taro, they went ahead and remade it without extra cost. I was pleasantly surprised that they did, which is why I'm going for four stars. The ambiance is only okay as well. I do worry for this business though. read more

I haven't gone here since they changed owners I decided to stop by for Dim Sum and ordered around 6 items, the food was tasty but the portions have declined substantially. Example; the shu mei have gone from 4 to 3 and what really caught my attention was the Chicken feet, 99% of Dim Sum restaurants will serve 4 feet but today I was served one and a half feet cut length wise. it's really too bad as they were tasty. Prices increased but that's OK but if they continue to be penny wise and dollar foolish folks will go to Hong Kong or Asian Bistro. Thank you read more

I believe the restaurant is under new management now and it's called "Hot and Spicy." It's by far the best Sichuanese food I've had in the RTP area. We ordered fuqi feipian, water-boiled fish, laziji (the spicy dry chicken thing), and dry pot cauliflower. All were so good! We also got soup dumplings and shrimp egg rolls mostly for my son, and they were also delicious as well. I wonder if they will redo their yelp listing because I'd imagine the poor reviews are from previous management idk.. And it is a bit confusing because the restaurant has the Dim Sum House sign on the front, but the staff are wearing their Hot and Spicy shirts.. read more

Definitely isn't going to ever be considered for best dim sum in US, but is it the best dim sum in NC? That remains to be seen. We came for Saturday lunch. About half the restaurant was filled, so the ambiance was a bit relaxed. Service isn't bad at all. Did not have to wait for anything they just came right up with the carts. Your average price is probably around 30$ per person so it's on the pricier side. Food is decent. If authentic dim sum is an A then I'd give this dim sum a B, maybe B-. I can finally cross Dim Sum off my bucket list. Since relocating from Queens New York I have been struggling with finding quality Asian cuisine in North Carolina. Today after traveling back in town with my 10 year old, we were famished and decided to have Dim Sum after 1:30 p.m. When we arrived we practically had the dining room to ourselves. Service was excellent. When the first cart rolled out our server was kind enough to explain the dim sum experience, menu offerings and suggestions. I had the barbecue pork baos, chive and shrimp dumplings, fried jalapeño calamari, Sticky Rice & pork, crispy mini shrimp rolls, jasmine flower tea and my favorite egg tarts ! My daughter enjoyed all the dumplings, sticky rice & pork. She cleaned her plate. When we arrived it was after the brunch rush. I was warned some items may not still be available, fortunately we ordered everything we wanted. All the food was fresh and flavorful. Seating is plentiful here and service was excellent. read more

I will say, this is the most authentic Chinese place you're gonna find down here. The food is traditional dim sum. It is also pretty good. I'm writing this review and hopes that the owners or management see this to make some necessary changes. The good news is that we went there for Dim Sum on a Saturday morning and the food was excellent and so were the options. I did not check my bill although reading previous post maybe I should have to make sure I was charged properly it seems about right but could have been off, but that's not major concern right now. The main issues, and I believe these could be corrected in a weekend, is that the place is filthy. I feel fine right now so I hope that is only in the dining room and bathroom and not the kitchen. 1. Bathroom - mens room is gross. The wall separating the toilet from the urinal is, on the urinal side, rusted and bubbled. Clearly from the location this is from being pissed on for years. Replace it. The rest of the bathroom could use some deep cleaning. 2. The light fixtures hanging down over the restaurant I have clearly never been cleaned. You can see the dust all over the top of them. One of them is even broken in half right by the bathrooms, so you can see it's just Jagged glass hanging down. 3. Ceiling vents are caked with dirt. get a ladder and a spray bottle and clean it. I'm pretty sure that all the framed pictures around the restaurant are in the same condition. Furthermore, the ceiling where they meet the wall have excessive and visible from afar dust and webs. 4. The ceiling tiles, many of them are warped or water stained or whatever stain is on it. I'm not going to assume I know what it they're from. 5. The wall next to where we were sitting clearly had some repairs done to it and those repairs were painted over with mismatched paint. There's definitely paint peeled off and missing and some of the repairs like covering drywall screws are in need of re-repair. They might as well repaint all the walls so they're at least one color and fresh. Given the visible and obviously neglected routine cleaning, I would not be surprised if under the tables and chairs were in similar condition and I would not want to touch the floors with my bare hands. Just in case. I really don't want to think about the kitchen condition although that should definitely be priority in any food establishment. I'm giving two stars because of the food alone despite the questionable cleanliness of the kitchen, but missing three stars because of the cleanliness of the dining room and the bathroom. I really like dim sum, I really like the food, and we do not have many options for this in the triangle so I really hope management sees this because this could be an amazing place and a great food option. read more

We were greeted by a kind man with a cart and he described many of the plates and then also told us to not buy certain dishes on his cart because it wasn't good. I appreciate his honesty but that was kind of a weird thing to tell a customer. Then, a woman came by and listed everything on the cart as fast as she could when I asked what a certain item was she replied "I already told you." I was shocked at this awful way to speak to a customer. I said, "Well can you tell me again?" And then she said, "Well maybe you'll listen this time." WHO SPEAKS TO CUSTOMERS THAT WAY?? Any time we asked about a dish she would throw it on the table and add it to our bill. We finally stopped inquiring and just paid for what we had so we could leave. Would not return again simply based off how awful the customer service was. read more

PLEASE READ! As soon as we sat down the waitresses surrounded us with the food before we had a chance to look at the menu and prices. Kept giving us servings before we took a look at the food. Ask for a menu first and some time because each serving was priced separately. Food was COLD as well, we saw a cockroach on the wall at our table, walls and floor was DIRTY. OVERPRICED. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I even said thank you at the counter when paying and the lady did not even respond. The experience felt very transactional. I have had dim sum at other restaurants and I knew what to expect and I rate this a 0. If you really want dim sum wait to go somewhere else or it'll ruin your outlook on this cuisine. read more

This has been our go to place for dim sum and typical Cantonese food that we grew up with in NYC. The beef ho fun and Singapore fried noodle are some of my personal favorites. Some of the dim sum choices that stand out to me are shrimp and chive dumplings, shrimp and beef rice rolls, salt and pepper squid, stuffed eggplant, chicken feet!Good "wok hei" and the dim sum is well seasoned without sodium abuse. The other perk about this restaurant is the a la carte dim sum on weekdays! The people who run the place are welcoming, courteous and produce great foods. I wanted a good 10-minutes before the food came out. The food was fresh and hot! The chicken feet was fall off the bone, probably the best I've had. The flavors were on point. The shumai and Shrimp with chives were ok. The MVP had to be the sticky rice with ground pork. That was amazing! The texture was perfect, not too sticky or hard. The customer service was great! I couldn't complain. I left a generous tip. The restaurant started to fill up as I left. It's not a bad place if you are craving dim sum! It's usually busier on the weekends. read more
