    Sesame chicken
    Serena D.

I was super excited to try this place because I've heard great things about it! Ordered the sesame chicken, crab rangoons, and pork soup dumplings. The sesame chicken has good flavor, however the chicken itself was a bit tough to bite because it was stringy. The crab rangoons were really good! If you like more savory crab rangoons compared to sweet ones, definitely try this out! The soup dumplings were also pretty good, just a bit doughy. Overall, the staff were very efficient whenever we asked for anything. This spot is also great for bigger parties like families or birthday parties. I would love to try other dishes if I were to come back!

I was so excited for this and omg I was NOT disappointed! The menu was super easy to read and work through, the waitress gave up plenty of time to figure out what we wanted but as soon as we were ready she took our entire order! The food came out at different times which was great since we ordered so many things! The first thing probably came out less than 5 mins after ordering and filtered out slowly. I had no complaints on ANYTHING the pan fried noodles and the pot stickers were probably my favorite but honestly I don't know if I could truly choose one thing. I WILL be back!

Crab Rangoon - unique flavor and look vs what I normally see. Delicious and perfect crispiness.

AMAZING dim sum on the University of Illinois campus! I wish places like this existed when I was a student here. I came here for a recruiting trip for work and we were starving after doing interviews all day. Dim Sum sounded perfect. It's not too filling but gives you variety and so much flavor. The staff here was super friendly and attentive. You can tell they care because they'd be watching from afar if you seem to like it or need anything and come right away! The food was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. Enough so that I forgot to take pictures of everything when it came out because it smelled so amazing. The spices and seasonings were perfect. We ordered shrimp and mixed mushroom dumplings, stir fried flat noodles with pork, Mongolian beef, and crab Rangoon, and it was all perfect. I really like the Mongolian beef. We got chili sauce on the side which added some heat. I also had a Thai coffee and that was refreshing. I will definitely be back for more when I am on campus next!

Bright, clean, cheery atmosphere. Friendly and attentive service. Delicious dumplings. I wasn't a fan of the chicken curry but I was expecting Thai style so now I am aware.. this was more a chicken dish with curry spices. Vibes are Family friendly but also great for a date night.

i've been here several times with friends. it's the perfect spot to try a little bit of everything and split the bill later lol. the soup dumplings are the best and the cucumber salad is a crowd favorite every time!! the vibes in there are very calm and relaxing. the food comes out in a timely manner.

I would like to give a four star since the food that we ordered were delicious as expected, and the dining environment was excellent since it was newly opened. (I went there some weeks ago so I couldn't remember the names of these foods. Sorry about that!) However, we waited for a long time to check our meal. The service might be further improved. Additionally, the price was higher than we expected. I've also heard some bad comments about their food (saying like reheated food or something like that), so I would say the eating experience really depends.

A very clean and comfortable facility. Bright. Nice tables. Good dim sum such as har gow and shu mei (sp?) i could eat here a lot. Nice to have such a place close by. Staff very attentive but wise about not being overbearing. Cucumber salad is spicy but very good

The two dishes we ordered were a bit on the sweet side, which isn't atypical for the dishes themselves, so kind of an error on our part. They had celtuce so we had to order it, it was tender and light and flavorful. The dumplings is good but a bit meat heavy than I would've preferred. Skin is very thin, like wonton skin. The scallions pancakes are perfectly panfried. The Beijing yogurt is not at all correct, it's stickier than I'm used to and not as smooth and flavor is a bit flat than the actual ones. Coconut pudding was unremarkable, doesn't stand out. Overall, the foods were good. We probably could've ordered better.

The meats, the…read morebroths, the sauces, the complimentary drinks- this was one of the most exquisite dining experiences I've ever had. Actually, all of my previous "most exquisite dining experiences" were also at Kung Fu BBQ. As usual, Kung Fu BBQ, and its exceptional owner, Helen, have set the bar impossibly high. I ordered the excellent Half & Half Pot (Original-Spicy), and I was informed this broth had just the right amount of heat by my dining partners (Will M. and Mia). I also treated myself to: The Sliced Fatty Beef, NZ Prime-Aged Lamb, and the Kurobura Pork. THESE MEATS ARE TOP QUALITY and melted in my mouth following sufficient bathing time in the bubbling broth. To make my meal (which remained within the 100 minute time limit, as it is very reasonable) even more memorable, I enjoyed the Quail Eggs and Imitation Crab sticks. We also ordered the rice which I was informed was perfect in soaking up all the savory sauces. Did I mention the sauces? Helen graciously offered to make our table the house dipping sauce, free of charge! I challenge anyone to find a more dedicated restaurateur, I doubt you will. Helen is the epitome of a gracious host, and she went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable dining experience. She actually took the time to chat with us about her restaurant and its practices,. Her attention to detail was evident in the high-quality service, and the staff, as usual. However, I did not encounter Mateo, during this visit. If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times, Kung Fu BBQ is the crown jewel of restaurants in Champaign. It is my favorite place to eat on this planet. Similarly, Helen is the most kind and generous owner on this earth. She puts her heart and soul into her business. I can't recommend Kung Fu BBQ enough and encourage anyone looking for a truly remarkable dining experience to visit this incredible restaurant.

But that being said there were a lot of GREAT things about this restaurant so I'll start there. The restaurant itself it's so moody and vibey I LOVED it, was such a good place for a date night, our waiter was so attentive, helped with all of our questions and a very patient with us as we worked through the menu. 10/10 service! We got the dumpling and pork bun appetizer and both were AMAZING, seriously the pork bun?? I could have eaten 1000 of them. Next was the sushi, I got the Atlantic hand roll and another member of the table got the rainbow roll, both were very fresh and flavorful, highly recommend. Next was the entree, I got the pork belly ramen, as a huge ramen fanatic I was SO excited, especially following up our appetizers, the bar was set high and unfortunately I was so disappointed. The broth was not very good and everything so extremely salty, I couldn't even eat the mushrooms in the bowl because they soaked up so much of the broth and it was like a salt bomb in my mouth. The pork belly was cooked well and I did really enjoy that, but for a $20 bowl of ramen, it really fell flat for me. I also got the sweet heat cocktail, and it also wasn't for me, cocktails are so personal so it's not that I wouldn't recommend someone try it, it's just that I didn't hit for me, and that was the general consensus of the table. While I had a great night, I would probably try a different restaurant for Asian food before I came back to this one!
