Ordered the seafood platter, was suppose to be spicy but wasn't at all the garlic was overwhelming the dish and i couldn't eat more than a couple bites which was just four shrimp . I came in here for a quick bite after some exams and the food was so good and fresh! They are a bit pricey but the dumplings and tripe were worth it! Everything was good and fresh and these were some of the best dumplings I have ever had!! I didn't eat in but the inside is very pretty and could easily be a nice dinner location! Upscale dim sum, served without pretense. This is a place for dumplings in a comforting atmosphere. We ordered the pork soup dumplings, mixed mushroom dumplings, and fried pumpkin balls. The mushrooms were delicious with a slight woody flavor, served in a gelatinous rice dumpling. The soup dumplings were served in tins, rather than directly on paper in the steamer, and there were no spoons. It certainly reduces the risk of the dumpling tearing, which happened with a mushroom one. The broth, pork, and casing were all simply prepared. The pumpkin balls ended up being the highlight of the meal. They came out hot with a crispy exterior to the sweet batter that was soft just under the shell that formed. (We should have given it another minute on the table to let the outside cool and the custard center more time to warm up.) The decor reflects the restaurant's consciously familiar approach. The general design resembles Chinese-American restaurants of the 70s and 80s, with pictures of temples on wall hangings and actual 80s style chairs at each table. But in 2025, the chairs read as delightfully retro and the hangings lend an airiness and light to the whole space. And the price is right. I was super excited to try this place because I've heard great things about it! Ordered the sesame chicken, crab rangoons, and pork soup dumplings. The sesame chicken has good flavor, however the chicken itself was a bit tough to bite because it was stringy. The crab rangoons were really good! If you like more savory crab rangoons compared to sweet ones, definitely try this out! The soup dumplings were also pretty good, just a bit doughy. Overall, the staff were very efficient whenever we asked for anything. This spot is also great for bigger parties like families or birthday parties. I was so excited for this and omg I was NOT disappointed! The menu was super easy to read and work through, the waitress gave up plenty of time to figure out what we wanted but as soon as we were ready she took our entire order! The food came out at different times which was great since we ordered so many things! The first thing probably came out less than 5 mins after ordering and filtered out slowly. I had no complaints on ANYTHING the pan fried noodles and the pot stickers were probably my favorite but honestly I don't know if I could truly choose one thing. I WILL be back! read more

AMAZING dim sum on the University of Illinois campus! I wish places like this existed when I was a student here. I came here for a recruiting trip for work and we were starving after doing interviews all day. Dim Sum sounded perfect. It's not too filling but gives you variety and so much flavor. The staff here was super friendly and attentive. You can tell they care because they'd be watching from afar if you seem to like it or need anything and come right away! The food was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. Enough so that I forgot to take pictures of everything when it came out because it smelled so amazing. The spices and seasonings were perfect. We ordered shrimp and mixed mushroom dumplings, stir fried flat noodles with pork, Mongolian beef, and crab Rangoon, and it was all perfect. I really like the Mongolian beef. We got chili sauce on the side which added some heat. I also had a Thai coffee and that was refreshing. I will definitely be back for more when I am on campus next! read more

WOW, Just wow! I just found out I've never really had really exceptional Chinese food until last night! We did a bunch of dim sum, Mongolian beef, general tso's, sweet and sour soup. They were able to manage my father's salt restrictive diet. Service was freaky fast and efficient. I'm sad because we have to go back to Michigan and I am seriously going to miss this place. The restaurant staff here were very kind, and the restaurant was maintained sufficiently. The food however, wasn't terrible, it was okay, however it was lacking in flavor and was rather expensive. I would eat here again just to explore the options and maybe see if there's more to them, but I had ordered the shrimp crepe with soup dumplings, with a side of fried rice and Shumai. The shrimp crepe and the soup dumplings were decent quality, but the shumai tasted as if it was once frozen and steamed. Overall, it was not a bad experience per se, but it doesn't stand out like Michelin star dim-sum restaurants like MingHin do. read more

Dim Sum is such a nice place to go to! Love the warm, relaxing ambience that there and the nice music. Every food we got was delicious, but the salted Egg Custard Bun was the best thing that I had ever eaten. This was my first time going, but I will probably go there again. All the waiters were nice and the food always came quickly. This is my favorite restaurant by far and I really like it. The Black Salted Egg Custard Buns were so pretty. The shrimp and chive dumplings were also good. If you like spicy food, try the spicy boiled fish too. :) read more

Delicious food, clean facilities, attentive and courteous service. We have visited for dim sum, and it is so fun and tasty to get little servings the table can share! We liked the soup dumplings, pork egg rolls, duck dumplings, and colorful oatmeal balls. They got the order correct which was great, and kept it all straight even as we added more items.
