A majority of all buffets generally fall into a 3 star rating for me, but this buffet out in the boonies doesn't have that great of a selection. The service ranged from weird to average. I say weird because I find it odd when the owner walks around nonchalantly eating an entire cucumber and just sitting wherever she pleases. I suppose that's fine with me. The food is your standard quality from a buffet and there's definitely better Chinese food out there.

Pretty good buffet. Loved the dumplings and crab rangoon. The rice was so-so. Food was replaced quickly which is a bonus at buffet.

Went in on a really cold snowy day and the food was immaculately hot and fresh.

There aren't a ton of restaurants to choose from in Monticello so we took our chances on Golden…read moreKitchen. I was so glad we did! Quick take out service (you can also eat in), yummy fresh food. It's not on the menu but you can replace any chicken dish for tofu. The servings were large so we're unable to finish ours. I abstained from the hotel breakfast to finish my Chinese in the room. Yum!

We ordered a take out order on a Sunday and picked it up just after noon. We ordered Szechuan…read moreChicken marked as "Spicy" on the menu, and Mongolian Beef as well, and Egg Drop soup and a single egg roll. The staff that took the order over the phone and handled the transaction we I picked the order up were very polite and pleasant, and also very efficient. But like most restaurants the most important part is the food. Overall we were not very impressed with what we received. Normally Szechuan foods have a rich spicy flavor, or a least a nice spicy kick or punch to it. The chicken I got came in very sweet brown sauce with no heat at all almost like they forgot to add the Szechuan peppers (or at least red pepper flake), the veggies were a bit over cooked, and the chicken had little to no flavor. The Mongolian beef was in the exact same sweet brown sauce and was so lacking in beef my girlfriend questioned if it was in fact a vegetarian version. She counted two pieces of beef in the whole serving. The rice was slightly over cooked almost like what you would find on a buffet table at the end of the lunch rush. The soup was flavorful with plenty of egg, and the egg roll was crispy but similar to what you find the in the freezer section of an Asian market. Not sure if we just hit them on a bad day, or if this is how the food normally is. Most likely it will be a long time before we try them again, if at all.

Foods so good here even after 10 years. Maybe we are older, the sauce for crispy tofu is a bit too…read moresweet, but the tofu was fried very well, and flavor overall is still really good. Both scallion oil and numb oil noodles are really good and good value too at $6 each. Flavors are on point. Luroufan special was also good $8 and they give quite a lot so easy to split among the kids. Meat is tender and not overly sweet. The scallion ginger fish fillet was probably the best, and they give a good chunky pieces of fish that is not breaded, but the way they cooked it. The meat trunks stayed together intact. The flavor is what you expect from traditionally steamed fish with soy sauce pour over at the end. Super pleased with the options. They have an interesting self serve utensils, takeout boxes and the tea is self serve too.

Service was very satisfactory - fast and friendly. However, the food was too salty and not fresh,…read moreespecially the chicken, tasted dry like having been frozen for some time. The pork intestines were a little smelly within some bites. Some part was cooked okay while there was literally salt on the other part. Rice tasted not good as other places. Price is even higher than the other authentic Chinese restaurants. Sorry but I give a 3/5, and I won't order again.

The food is the finest Asian fare around and avoids the common error of over spicing the food. The Mapo Tofu is remarkable and each of the items we shared in our group excelled in its taste and presentation. The decor is simple and elegant amplifying the peaceful mood that surrounds the diners. Each server was polite, gracious and accommodating without hovering or intruding. The two dishes we ordered were a bit on the sweet side, which isn't atypical for the dishes themselves, so kind of an error on our part. They had celtuce so we had to order it, it was tender and light and flavorful. The dumplings is good but a bit meat heavy than I would've preferred. Skin is very thin, like wonton skin. The scallions pancakes are perfectly panfried. The Beijing yogurt is not at all correct, it's stickier than I'm used to and not as smooth and flavor is a bit flat than the actual ones. Coconut pudding was unremarkable, doesn't stand out. Overall, the foods were good. We probably could've ordered better.
