This buffet is seriously lacking, but from what I understand, there aren't a lot of dining options in the area. I would've liked to get a salad, but they only had iceberg lettuce and due to it's lack of nutritional value I thought that to be a waste of space in my stomach. The only other veggie options I saw were overcooked green beans (limp and watery) and broccoli chicken or pepper chicken. All veggies come sauced and with chicken, apparently! What I did get onto my plate was hit or miss. The trend seemed to be that the Asian options were the best. The general tso's, sweet n' sour and teriyaki chicken were good. The teriyaki had a few dry pieces, but I think they just weren't that fresh. The same with the fried shrimp. It was really hard and tasted old. The egg roll was mushy and disappointing, though. The macaroni and cheese was disgusting. The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted instant, but I have a soft spot for instant potatoes! A little salt and pepper and they were just fine. I had two helpings. I managed to find some plain ole steamed cauliflower that I paired with the clarified butter meant for the crab legs that were on special for Father's Day. The staff were nice and kept our plates cleared, but a refill of my soda was hard to come by. They do offer a 10% discount for seniors over the age of 60, which is nice. We finished off the meal with ice cream, served in individual cups. They also offered chocolate chip and mint chocolate chip that you scoop yourself... definitely not the most sanitary. read more

Great buffet restaurant on the north side of town. Plenty of seating and they will accommodate you if phone ahead for a larger group. Very large food selection and the food looks very good. Dry large salad bar and dessert bar too. Plenty of seating. The only drawback is the pricing is a little unclear so check out pricing to make sure you're ok with it. read more

They have a large variety of food that part I give them but they hospitality is lacking. I said thank you to the people for or five times. They just stared at you so I asked them in your country. What is the Custom when someone say thank you. She stared at me and then said you're welcome. I asked her why then when I say thank you to you and your staff you just stare I never got a You're welcome. My Grandson even said thank you for the Lady bringing him a drink. She just stared at him and then walked off it don't cause nothing to be polite to anybody so that was definitely a turn off to Me. than asked me was I gonna leave a tip? I looked at her and said lady that was your tip for the day. I don't mind tipping and I believe in tipping, but not when it's not deserved. read more

The Food is good and fresh. All the buffets were full and well stocked. Servers were nice and friendly. The price is fair for lunch. The building looks sketchy from the outside but worth the trip inside where it is much better than you think. Booths needed to be redone, ours was patched with duck tape. Overall I would come back someday if I'm ever in the Danville area again. read more

I went to Royal buffet. My experience was good. The food was delicious. I will go again. I did feel, however, that some areas could be cleaner carpeting needs to be replaced. Some of the booths were repaired with duct tape. read more

Great place to eat! Must try at least once! All you can eat buffet with many choice including American, Chinese cuisine, and dessert. Delicious choices and you can try things you never have without having to order a huge plate of it. Seriously check this place out read more

Much better than I expected great sushi great selection good price definitely the best of the area

Royal Buffet is awesome. Wait staff very helpful. Food is always hot, well stocked, and watched continually and filled when slightly down. The hibachi bar is raw food that is cooked to order. Doesn't get much fresher than that (be sure to tip the chef at the bar that cooks for you). We highly recommend this if you like a buffet. read more

I was a little reluctant on eating at a buffet during these times of social distancing. The restrictions they put in place impressed me and had my kids and I feel safe to eat here. The food was hot and fresh. Very affordable as well. The staff was very attentive and courteous. read more

Royal Buffet - Very clean facility. - Buffets Near Me - Danville, Illinois

My wife and I went there for dinner at 5:00 pm. About 85% of the food we put on our plates was cold. They still are charging full price for only half of the buffet being open. The sweet and sour sauce looked and tasted as if it had been watered down. I would not recommend going there at all waste of money and taste read more

We drive from near Indianapolis to eat here once a week because the food is so good. Steak that you can cut with a fork, prime rib, a full grill, multiple chicken choices, hot dogs and pizza. Full salad bar. Cant understand all the Karen's who expect perfection. The staff is nice enough, the price for what you get is decent. Water is good. Very rarely have any issues. It's a Chinese buffet to a good extreme. If you want perfection, go to an expensive steak house. If you want a good meal, eat here. read more

Disappointed, rude Chinese staff, food was not fresh @ 6pm looks are deceiving My daughter said bathroom was horrible. Not enough traditional Chinese choices. read more

Good place great food but the waitress (Amy) threw our straws didn't even asked for a refill once and started talking about us and looking at us with the other waitresses we talked to the manager about this and she went and talked to her. read more

Food is horrible service is good a lot of kids who are forced to come here don't like Chinese and the American food is terrible

We are passing through from out of state and stopped in to eat. We definitely did not regret it! Great tasting, fresh food in such a beautiful atmosphere. Overall great food, great service, and we would eat here every week if we could! read more

I'm only giving a one star review because I'm not sure if you can give a zero, first of all the food was all absolutely disgusting. It was stale and seemed as if it was sitting there all day. I got the Buffay dinner which is supposed to be $14.59 and I ordered a water and they charged me $18.50. All in all I would not recommend this place it is putrid and after eating it I lost my happiness. Absolutely ruined my night. read more

Lots of good food. Our waitress is friendly. Except the lady on the front (hostess) she is so Rude. Told her we have our family inside already and have our table. And she was mad and tell us to wait. Anyway when we were enjoying our food. And she taking costumer to they're sit. She look at us and give us the attitude several times. read more

Food is excellent with many choices. Waitresses are polite and cheerful they are also wonderful with children when you bring them in. My favorite restaurant by far. read more

Wow, had been here before on a couple of different occasions. Food was typically average to average plus. Today, maybe the chef was off, had an bad day, or was dealing with sub par ingredients. That said, most everything lacked seasoning with several items tasting a little strange. Both my girl and I experienced significant intestinal issues, some starting before we left the restaurant. Seafood + Danville, IL = oh boy, not good!! read more

This place is dirty. And is Chinese food. Not American food as advertisers. Rude waitress.just stand and watch you eat.i will never go there again. Would not recommend. read more

if I can give it a 0 stars I would ! food was cold. i ended up getting food poisoning! on top of that I when we asked for the check we paid and I didn't leave a tip because I was very unsatisfied and the lady was upset because I choose not to give a tip. she pointed and said tip ! I said no so she left the check there and kept walking back and forth looking at us with dirty looks . DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

My Wife and I thought we would try the new buffet out. Looked at the food bars and it was almost the same as when the Hibachi Grill & Buffet was there. We picked a few items and went to sit down to eat. Most of the food we had was room temp at best. Even when you walk around there was steam coming out of the trays but still did not keep things heated. We went back to the buffet again to check other food. and tried it and it was the same. Then only seafood I saw was the fake crab meat, some kind of fake squid meat, and small shrimp from the Hibachi Grill and stuffed shrimp which was not that good. My wife saw one tray of fake crab meat Linguine some of the sauce was hard and crusty it had not been cooked today, more like yesterday or day before that. The woman at the register tried to give us a punch card and we handed it back and told her we will not be back. She did not say a word. read more

I went to the royal buffet and my experience was really good, the food was amazing and there was so much to choose from. It's very clean and you can't beat the price for the amount of food your getting. I will most definitely be going back! read more

We went about 30 minutes-hour before they closed, and everything was still good. I love the all you can eat style I just wish they had more ice cream selection and toppings (whipped cream, nuts, sprinkles, etc.) and a few more sushi selections. There were 4 trays of the same kind. read more

We go there alot since we live not very far from there, the staff has always been friendly and the food is always plentiful and very good.Thank you for all you do. read more

The food was ok. So the one star is only because of the food. A lot of it seemed like it was stale. But most of the food was actually good. Well, the food that wasn't stale was really good. HOWEVER. After we were done eating we wanted to sit and finish our drinks we had THREE of their "waitresses(?)" (cause all you do is take plates let's face it we get our own food so) come up to us and ask us to pay them, repeatedly they did this. Like can we please finish the drinks they we paid for? So after the third different person did this we just said screw it and went up to pay. You guys were really rude. It was my birthday, and you honestly ruined the whole dinner. No one wants to be rushed off when they just want to drink the drinks we paid for. Also please don't leave stale food out. read more

This restaurant is clean. Staff is very friendly. The food is very good. They have a good variety of food! Will definitely eat there again.

Service is ALWAYS great here!! The food is seemingly more American than Chinese other than a few Chinese buffet staples. I used to come here primarily for crab legs, but they are never really tasty (just plain bland and zero salt) so I end up getting steak bites instead. After 7pm, everything that should be wet is all dried up. Average buffet quality. If service suffered to match buffet quality, I would've dropped to 3 stars. read more

They were very nice, clean, helpful, and so reasonable with the prices. It was worth the drive all the way from Urbana, Il.

The food at royal buffet is delicious, fresh and the price is great, you have so many different options Chinese as well as American. Always clean and when ever you want something that's not on the bar they do what thy can to get you what your asking for. Most definitely will be returning. read more

Please, do not waste your money. Not only is it the exact same thing as hibachi, but I believe the food got WORSE. I had a fairly large party go to the restaurant and nearly every one of us got sick. It's not worth the money, or pain. I'm just hoping none of us got any type of food poisoning or anything. I will NEVER go back. read more
