A restaurant and dinner theater located outside Covington, Indiana. A nice place with scenic views and good food. Famous for their dinner rolls. As much of their food as possible is made from scratch and from locally sourced ingredients. Our server Annie did a good job of making sure we had anything we needed and checked on us often in spite of also having a large group in her section to handle.

An Indiana institution! I enjoy stopping here for grab and go burgers or a sit down meal. Traditional menu options abound, with reliable service and old school ambiance. The yeast rolls are excellent as are the hamburger buns. Lots of protein and carb options for your appetite. They also have famously good apple butter and other jams for the rolls. The venerable salad bar has been replaced with ready-made items, a post-Covid adaptation. Get the hamburger and fries to go, with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles. You won't be disappointed!

My first time here and it didn't disappoint. The service was excellent and the food was above average. I started with the bang bang shrimp appetizer. The sauce in the shrimp was much better than a well know chain that serves the same dish. The broccoli soup was creamy and the broccoli was not overcooked. The rolls were on another level: hot, pillowy and fresh. You could literally eat just the rolls with butter and leave. For the entrée I ordered the seafood platter (I know it's a beef place) but I'm not a big steak person. The seafood platter was huge. Everything was fresh and not overly salty. I can't wait to return and try some of their other menu items.

This place is really good for what it is. It's not five star dining but it has five star service. Everyone one working there is extremely helpful and friendly. It located just I74 and we stop there every time we travel through this area. They always start you with great rolls served with apple butter and a strawberry jelly. They are always warm and delicious. Though they have an extensive menu we always go with the cafeteria style meal that changes daily. We have never been disappointed in anything we have had. This will continue to be a stopping point for us anytime we are passing through Covington IN.

The food is really good. The service was good. They have a nice setup here. I had the roast beef, green beans, and soup.

This place brings back the nostalgia from high school prom for me. Back in 1988 a group of friends and I ate here before our Senior prom. Well, I met one of those same old friends who now lives in Zionsville, IN while I now live in Charlotte, NC to relive our glory days. We had fun catching up and this place LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME. Now, outside they have added pretty flowers and a bison statue, but inside is the same brick and wood decor. Families still arrive from miles around to come to basically the middle of nowhere to eat here. My friend had the NY Strip and I had the 12oz ribeye. The ribeyes come in 4 different sizes, which was really nice to be able to select from. They didn't have horseradish cream sauce, but the waitress had them make some up for me. Nice ! The waitress was extremely friendly and we had a great view of their garden flowers and even watched a hummingbird fly around drinking from the flowers. We started off with their wonderful famous rolls with strawberry jam. Nice and fluffy with real pieces of strawberries in the jam. The salads were nice and they make their own ranch dressing. My steak was a bit thin but was cooked well and very good. It came with the salad, rolls, and 1 side. I chose a baked potato. My husband got the burger and said it was juicy. It came with fries. For 3 people, the bill was around $94 before tip. We would definitely come back and hope for many more wonderful years for the Covington Beef House.... as we used to call this place, being originally from Lafayette, IN.

TL;DR The steaks are dry aged upper choice. The menu prices include, your drink, yeast rolls, soup, salad, meal and a side. So while it may seem pricey at the face value, you get a lot for the money. There was a lot of hype surrounding this place from two people who eat here regularly and I was not disappointed (after reading other Yelpers). We all opted for fillets but the meat and potatoes guy in the group who got a burger. They grind the beef themselves and he couldn't pass it up. Everyone throughly enjoyed their meals. The steaks were cooked to the way everyone ordered them and bacon wrap was delish. The sides were plentiful. I took it easy on the rolls so I could finish my dinner. The waitress said pre-COVID they had a salad bar but we were salads in a bi They serve Coke products and beer.

Right across the Indiana state line on the West side of Indiana sits this little gem that serves up awesome hamburgers made with local sourced beef and many other items such as fish, steak, and chicken. We ordered two appetizers of onions rings, fried green beans and when they arrived we realized at that moment we were never going to finish either of them. The portions were huge and the freshness and flavor were great! They have many specialty hamburgers to choose from and the standards as well. I went with the Ellie burger with grilled onions and bacon jam. It was massive and delicious. My partner chose the mushroom and Swiss for a home run. The burgers come with your choice of fries, chips or Cole slaw. We both chose fries and they were really really good. We could have did just fine with the fries as our side but we splurged. The interior of the place is a little dark but warm and comfortable. There are even a few slot machines to entertain you if you desire. They were well-plated, but huge. And yet...the veil didn't slip. It was haute-cuisine comfort food goodness in what looked like a converted warehouse space. Unreal! Though turkey is often too dry, my stroganoff was moist and succulent. The sauce was much more than just cream of mushroom -- lots of flavor and not too much salt. We had a time of it. I'd happily come back here again and again.

The space looks great, it's clean, and the staff is genuinely friendly. Service was very fast, even with multiple large groups in the room. Noise was completely reasonable. If anything, it may feel "a little loud" to someone whose baseline is the quieter side of the Lafayette-area dining scene, but compared to bigger-city restaurants it was fully fine and well within what I'd expect. Overall, The Bryant would fit right in in a market like Oklahoma City, Dallas, New York, or Pittsburgh and wouldn't feel out of place at all. Highly recommended.

I thought I was underdressed, but the dress code seems pretty casual. Water was served in a cold milk bottle. I could not decide what to order; everything on the menu looked absolutely delicious. The menu described the items well, and when I asked the wait staff for their preference or any recommendations, she told me five different favorite items that are often ordered, which was nice, but was not what I asked. I finally decided on the strawberry-and-brie cheeseburger. I ordered it medium well with fries. I was really disappointed in the French fries; they tasted old and cold, and when I cut into the hamburger, it was bloody. I sent the burger back, and this time they brought it out well done. The staff argued that it was medium well, with blood coming out of it. And before anybody thinks I'm confusing the strawberry jam on the burger with bloody pink meat, please see the picture. Upon receiving the new burger, which was cooked well done, I found it to be very good. It was tasty and juicy. As I was finishing my meal, a young family came in, and their child was making a lot of noise. A gentleman told them that if the child did not calm down, they would have to go outside. When the family tried to speak with the gentleman further, he continued walking away and did not stop to answer questions. I was not sitting close to this table, and yet I heard the gentleman talking to the young couple. Had I not already received my food and been getting ready to leave, I would have gotten up and gone with the couple in support. I understand setting standards, especially when the restaurant is bustling, but at this point, as a server, I could only observe two other tables in the entire restaurant, and one of them was preparing to leave. If I ever returned to this area, this restaurant would not be one I would return to.

Also cute as a button as the old folks say. :-) She guided us through the menu and also made a few suggestions which we went with. We started with an app - cheese curds served with a sriracha dipping sauce. There is no way I was in Indiana. :-). The cheese curds were legit! They have a solid drink menu. We got the bare knuckles porter and an espresso martini. The martini was fantastic. No actual espresso so no caffeine. Not bad! My main was a BYO Burger. A top 10 burger for me. Smashed style and cooked perfectly with the lacy, crusty edges. I got the following - cheddar, bacon, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, fried egg, jalapeños and fried egg. Absolute money! For a side I got the truffle fries ($5 up charge) but well worth it! So damn good. This place is a gem and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I hope to be back to the area to try it again.

When we questioned it, the waitress couldn't clearly explain the charges or provide a proper breakdown of the receipt. Instead of helping, she became defensive and came off as rude, which only made the situation worse. I have no issue with automatic gratuity for larger parties, but not being transparent about it feels misleading. A simple heads-up would have avoided all of this.
