All my favorite dishes! Crab Rangoon, pot stickers, beef & broccoli, the angel hair pasta I don't know the name of, lots of shrimp!

Customer service: A. I came here on a Sunday and it was fairly busy. Nonetheless, my table was seated promptly. Our waters were refilled without having to ask and plates were cleared quickly. Cleanliness: B-. The floors could use some vacuuming but the bathroom and food area were clean. Quality of food: C. When it comes to rating a restaurant, food is what matters most. I don't want to be fooled by a great review because someone thought the bathrooms are nice. It's about the food. Don't rate a restaurant generously because you like the brand of soap they happen to use. The selection isn't vast by any means. You have your typical chicken items like BBQ/sesame/general Tso chicken and noodle dishes like lomein. Seafood options are limited. You have baked clams, bacon wrapped shrimp and imitation crab bake. The clams were a little dry but the shrimp and imitation crab are okay dishes. This is definitely Americanized Chinese. Most items are very sweet like the chicken and pork dishes. Nothing stands out as fantastic but this isn't the worst buffet I've been to. The fruit tasted like it was from a can but if you like the syrup flavor then go to town on it. A little boy was manning the register which made me laugh. Typical Asian parents putting kids to work before their teen years hit because hey, what's an Asian parent without their unrealistic expectations placed upon us and the life long stress we have to exceed those expectations right? I stopped for lunch at Sunny China Buffet almost as soon as it opened at 11:00 on a Sunday. All of the items on the buffet were very fresh and looked great. There are three buffet areas; appetizers / soups, entrees / sides and salad / desserts. I started with hot and sour soup and egg rolls. The soup was bland, but the egg rolls were fresh and crispy. All of the chicken dishes I tried (peanut chicken, black pepper chicken and sweet & sour) were very good. Lo mein noodles with vegetables was also tasty. All of the desserts appear to be purchased (almond cookies, pastries, pudding) instead of house made. I had almond cookies and lychee fruit (canned I believe, but good). A half dozen flavors of scoop-your-own ice cream sit in their own little freezer next to the dessert buffet too. One thing that made me smile was the baked macaroni and cheese that was on the entree buffet, clearly there to accommodate parents who want to go out for Chinese, and bring their kids along. Cheap buffet, but doesn't have a big variety of food. The food is very good although it is very Americanized. This place has been around for many years and if you're craving cheap food this is one of the best places in the area! I do think they need to switch out the food some more, sometimes there tends to be cold food laying around or dishes that are finished and are not replaced quickly enough, specially for lunch. I really like this place! It's been around for a long time now and I always know I can count on them for lots of yummy fixings. They are a little more limited on the number of options compared to other buffets; however, I think the options they do have are well thought out "classics". Seriously, the best Chinese buffet I've ever had. It does not have a huge selection (it's a smaller place), but everything it has is great. I love the mei fun noodles and fried scallops. They also have a variety of chicken dishes that are terrific. I come here twice a week. read more

Food wise, this place is amazing. But I paid with my card, left a $5 tip and went about my day. I checked my bank account and they'd charged me an extra $5! So I paid $26 when I was there and had a $31 charge later on in the day. Never again. read more

A long morning on the road and Chinese sounded good so here I am. I wouldn't say the staff is friendly but they are attentive and did well refilling my drink. The food variety is pretty basic with the normal selections for a Chinese restaurant, but some American choices offered as well. The food was good, hot, and fresh. I used to go here every Friday night. The buffet is still very good but service has deteriorated. I was seated at a table (although I asked for a booth). They kept seated people at the same table. We drove 40 minutes in for the crab rangoon and pepper/onion shrimp, that we found there last week, while in Urbana. After arriving and getting one helping of the great food we had been anticipating, they pulled it off of the buffet and refused to make more. Saying that they were out for the evening. I know they were not out of shrimp because they replaced the pepper shrimp, with a shrimp vegetable mix, on the buffet. I will not be going back after the refusal of the management to serve what is normally on the buffet and rude service following the request. read more

My family and I returned to this Chinese buffet restaurant because of their good food but this time we had a bad experience with them, their food is good but they are lacking in customer service. First, their pricing is deceptive, what you see at the door is not what they charge you, they charge two dollars for their drinks, you would think that it will be included with the meal.They went behind our backs to ask my two younger kids their ages,while we were eating they were staring at us and talking in their language, the look on their faces tells it all.Lastly we were there roughly thirty five minutes when they brought us our bill, We had to leave because we were uncomfortable,am not sure that we will return to this location again. read more
