I love my neighborhood Dillard's!! Quality of clothes, variety of brands and great sales whe they have them. Store is clean and well presented displays. No help on floor and even finding a cashier was a challenge. The men's section was ridiculously overpriced compared to general quality of the selection. The styles were banal at best and boring and unimagined at worst. I don't see much of a future for this store, I'd rather take my chances with Amazon and given the lack of customers present, so would everyone else. read more

I received a very expensive coffee maker as a gift and unfortunately it was a dud and I had to return it. I was so geared up for a nasty experience after reading all the negative reviews about returns, but, it wasn't negative in any way. The lady in the kitchen department not only took it back but ordered me a new one to be shipped to my house right away. She was very nice and knew exactly what to do and was pleasant and professional. Maybe they learned and are hiring better people now. read more

I went to Dillard's for the first time ever, last year and have been putting off updating my review until I can get the name of the wonderful man from NY that is a former master stylist, who saw me wandering lost in the cosmetics aisle and recommended some awesome Bobbi Brown eye pencils and eye shadow crayons to add to my (sparse) cosmetics collections (I used to sell Mary Kay and AVON many years ago but now I very rarely adorn myself with makeup or jewelry). I've been happily unfashionable since 1972...but perusing this store, which was slightly out of my area but in an easy to find locale, might change all that. The store: well laid out and most employees were either friendly, laid-back or both. Department stores can be intimidating to those of us who don't frequent mall-type stores. I will get his name, he is simply wonderful and such a happy, pleasant person. You can't miss him...he's shaved bald, rather tall and regal and the day I went he had on a nice scarf. read more

Wow, I have to take my hat off to the following super stars of Dillard's Department Store located in the Wiregrass shopping mall. Bayan in perfume and Selma Loretto and Laura Shifflett who worked in sun glasses. They all were very helpful with the sale of my Gucci Sunglasses that I brought since I could not take them off. I will never buy something from this store ever again. I was misled and lied to just so that I would open a credit card with them and then once I tried to return my dress they told me it was over the 30 day return policy although I was told I had 90 days to return it and then accused me of wearing the dress (when it had tags on it). They then proceeded to fight with me and tell me that I couldn't return the dress in the condition it was in and that their policy never said I had 90 days to return it. However when I searched up their policy on the credit card returns in front of them, I found that it was a 90 day return policy and they still wouldn't accept the dress. This dress costed $300 for a wedding that is in January, so the dress hasn't been worn and I'm now out $300. Horrible customer service and incompetence in knowing their credit card return policy. read more

On a Saturday night, my daughter and I walked into Dillard's to purchase lip glass at the Mac counter. After entering and many steps inside, a person who worked there approached us and said "I need to inform you ladies about something ". My mind raced and I wondered if we were in danger. The person follows that statement with the store closes in two minutes. I was relieved that nothing foul was going on, so I said that we are going to the Mac counter. Then the person shows me the time from their phone, and repeated two minutes, two minutes to eight o'clock. As we proceeded to the Mac counter, the person continued to call out two minutes behind us. The people at the Mac counter were amazing, per usual, and upsaled my purchase to include an eye liner. We left promptly after our purchase out the nearest door, making sure to not rile up the two minute person. Not sure what thier goal was. read more

I'm very disappointed at this location! I'm a store manager and I know how customer service is suppose to be presented. No one greeted or assist me with my selections. As I'm walking into the fitting room. I'm followed by a old male security guard. He knocks on my door and says "Security". I said excuse me and opened the door he disappeared. I'm a middle aged female trying on dresses and he should never have followed me into the fitting room. I felt violated and very uncomfortable. I will never shop at this Dillards location again based on the customer service and the security. The store manager Cathy needs to be notified and needs to take action. I have shopped at the Wiregrass Mall location several times. Not overly impressed. Their sales are great, but it's a hassle - if you want to purchase from several different departments, they expect you to check out in each one. I don't believe the sale people are on commission, so this makes zero sense to me. If they base sales by department (which is what I was told by a sales person), surely their computer system could tell them how much was purchased at each dept based on the barcode? Another challenge is returning an item. You have to take it back to THAT dept. Again, a hassle and makes no sense to me. read more

Dillard's in New Tampa/Wiregrass-Avoid at all costs! Frustration to the point of tears over a $35 return, and two and a half hours+ of my life I'll never see again. Don't let this horribly managed store ruin your day. There is no excuse on God's green earth why a simple return should turn into a three-ring circus, with you as the sport! As a local business owner of 25 years, I have taken the time to write this for those who shop at Wiregrass Mall in New Tampa/Wesley Chapel. My issue with them is solved: this is for you. We have many choices as to where we can spend our money. We can effortlessly order things online from any store, and comparison shop while we do so. No need to take the time to get in our cars and drive to a store where we will be mistreated. I went to return something from the Clarin's counter that was pricey and did not work as advertised. Two and a half hours later, after being humiliated repeatedly, treated like I was "trying to pull something" and even called names, I left with nothing but....wait for it....a store credit for DIlliard's!! Woo- Hoo! Like I'm ever going to use that. There was not one person in the store who knew how to call corporate and make a return without a receipt- a receipt I was told by phone 20 min prior to driving over that I "did not need". (The actual assistant store manager, Jenny Baretto, admitted the staff was undertrained and so now WE all know how to handle a return at Dillard's but they still don't)! WHY DID IT TAKE 2 HOURS TO EVEN GET A REFUND CARD? This store is dying. The employees are bored and angry: their salary is largely commission. Their inexcusable behavior illustrated this massive discontent, but you can google "Dillards employees" and read employee accounts of how badly they are treated to learn more. So, in turn, the employees mistreat their customers. I was subjected to nastiness by a woman with black hair and no name tag or common sense at the Clarin's counter, as my usual contact (a real sweet lady) was unavailable and busy giving a makeover. After dealing with the nameless lady with the black hair (yes, she refused to give her name), I asked for the General Manager of the store. A man who falsely identified himself as "the manager of the store", a fellow who looks to be about 19, appeared. He was nasty, mocking, snide, rude and above all, impotent. He didn't know a thing about returns, customer service, or common decency. His name is Andre' Giles, He finally sent me with a store credit to the customer service desk (after about two hours of bickering about nonsense- I spend enough money there, I'm recognized by the people I usually work with), I was given a store credit and told to go upstairs to "Gift Wrapping", where the clerk would put the money back on my card. The Customer Service lady was a Nazi in disguise. She refused to give her name, and behaved in the most unconscionable way, knowing her behavior was off the charts rude and grounds for dismissal. She was even more rude than Andre Giles and the black-haired perfume spritzer I'd dealt with downstairs. I will describe her: imagine your grandma but with the meanest eyes you've ever seen, covered in heavy makeup and eyeliner, wearing a bright red satin blouse, just spitting fire and fury, and you've got her. Oh, and give grandma shoulder length auburn/brown dyed hair, circa 1968, and take away her soul and you have this lady. Go to Dillard's while you're holiday shopping and stop in on the second floor "Gift Wrapping" to say hi to her. She's real. Upset that her tantrums would not deter me, she not only refused to refund my money as the fake manager, Andre' Giles had said she'd do (he sat there, smirking and refused to help during this!), she attempted to humiliate me, repeatedly. Finding I would not leave without my refund, she actually picked up the phone and pretended to call for security! Honestly- this could and probably will happen to you if you decide to make a return there. I left, called William Dillard II (he was, shockingly, unavailable) and then called the Wiregrass Dillard's, asking the operator SPECIFICALLY for the General Manager of the store. Spoiler: Mr. Andre' Giles is NOT the GM! No one seems to know his title.I did speak to the Asst. Manager, Jenny Barreto, and she was weaselly and non-committal. She offered no apologies for her employees' behavior, and stated she didn't know when if ever, the actual Manger of the store would return. Jenny promised to "take care of" my refund, but just as she was going to do that-SURPRISE!- we were disconnected! I finally called her and was told, "Jenny is on the phone" but she'd "call me back". Days later I'm still waiting. 24 hours later, I received a call from the district manager, Gene Heil. Intent on "circling the wagons" to protect his errant employees against Dillard's loyal customers. Nordstrom is the bomb. Go there. They care about their customers and sell great merchandise. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I bought a sun block lip balm and I put it in my gym bag when I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I threw the box away and when I used the lip balm this past Thursday it gave me a really bad reaction. I save my receipt but they would not take it because I didn't have the box. Really?? Over a box the rude store manager didn't not return a $25 item. I already had items on hold at the cosmetic dept to purchase in exchange well needless to say I walked out of there without purchasing them. They can say goodbye to my business. You need a box to do a return. Give me a break. She had the audacity to say she keeps her boxes. Well unlike her I am not a hoarder!
