Mom and I realized there were a couple of things we needed for a destination wedding we were to attend in a couple of days. Since neither one of us are from here, my friend (who accommodated us) suggested we go to Firewheel Town Center, "You're bound to find whatever it is you need there." This is one of the place we hit. We didn't find what we needed, but we did find a few bargain buys! So, that turned out well! Some of them were heavily discounted, so we were glad to have made the stop. I did a lot of reflection after this stop. All the stops I made at Dillard's (not necessarily this one - this is a first) we're always good ones. I was at Firewheel Town Center to go to a different store and stopped in on my way out. The store was very clean, in fact a couple of ladies were washing the front sliding glass doors when I entered. I found the store a little difficult to navigate as I'd never been in here before. I finally found the store map on the wall by the internal escalators and sure enough, the ladies departments are all located upstairs. Men's, shoes and cosmetics (including perfume-whew! gave me a headache walking by this dept) on the first floor. Both the men's and ladies departments have huge selections! They could use better signage to mark the escalators, since I had to really hunt for them. I like how the ladies clothes was displayed, by designer and color family. Horrible customer service. The lady at the register in the shoe section was supposed to exchange me some uggs online for a different size. Said she needed to put the money on a gift card then proceeds to tell me they aren't any available online AFTER PUTTING MY MONEY ON A GIFTCARD. Like isint it your job to check first? I usually find a lot of what I am shopping for, however, today no one wanted to help. Two associates working the register. One is ringing and one is bagging the same customer. I asked to have an item checked for availability and the response was, "everything is on the floor." The response should have been, let me check the system and we can order it for you and shipped to your house for free. Please train these associates. read more

I have to say that I went to Dillard's at Firewheel for what I thought would be a quick visit. Just needed to grab a new shirt and tie for my husband and didn't want to go out of my way to Northpark and fight traffic. I was so pleasantly surprised at what a beautiful store this is! Mall shopping ain't what it used to be, and I have been sorely disappointed on so many trips to awful Macy's that I pretty much gave up on department stores all together. Everything about this location shines. Clean, orderly (hangers actually evenly spaced on racks!) salespeople visible and friendly (someone in each department I visited greeted me) well stocked, quality products. Found exactly what I was looking for and was so delighted by the whole experience that I continued to shop the women's department. The women's dress, shoe and handbag departments are beautiful. Would have shopped every department if I had more time. It is evident that this Dillard's location is very well managed at every level. They would not take my return which I had a receipt for and it was unworn. They stated I needed to return to the location I purchased it at which is 30 miles away from where I live. The manager, Joseph, was rude and condescending. You just lost a 40 year customer. read more

Employee came up to my pregnant wife after needing to sit for one second and told her she would ruin the bed and needs to get off. My wife asked if they had any benches or anywhere to sit at all and the employee said no. Where are pregnant women or senior citizens supposed to sit if they need to take a break? I've shopped this little Dillard's store for years, especially for Grandchildren's clothes at Christmastime. Early this December bought Christmas gifts for the family, and at checkout, saleslady sold me a $12 cookbook that Dillards was selling to raise money for a charity. I paid, she bagged everything up for me, forgetting the cookbook, and I left the store for other shopping that day. About 2 weeks later, I wrapped our gifts for Christmas, and found no cookbook in the bags. I noted this on my receipt, to take up with the store if and when I had any exchanges or returns after holidays. We went to Dillards tonight to make my returns, with my original receipts, and ask about the cookbook issue. At the Customer Service Dept upstairs, a manager said "promotion is over, we don't have any more cookbooks". I explained that the book had been purchased at stated price and in good faith, but saleslady forgot to add the book to my bags of clothes I purchased for my Grandkids...so if they have no more cookbooks, I would want them to refund the $12 or at least give $12 store credit. A 2nd manager was called who arrived with a negative response, offering me only $3 for a cookbook they sold me for $12 but did not give me. This Christmas, I spent over $1,200 at this store location, but apparently this store management would rather lose a long-time customer at this Dillard location... over a $12 error that his store made... than keep a customer happy. I will not shop at a store where they treat customers this way. read more

Customer service is terrible!!! I bought a pair of shoes on line. They were too small, so.... I went to return them and was told they rang up damaged!!!! They look perfect to me and the tags are still on them. I never wore them!!! Did they make a mistake or did they send me damaged goods that I could not see?!?! Regardless, they would not return them and now I have a pair of perfectly good shoes that I cannot wear!!! Nobody was willing to help me or give me an explanation as to why they rang up Damaged. I guess they didn't know either so it was easier to say they could not take them back!! I will never shop at Dillard's again. Terrible customer service. Good luck!! read more

Customer service horrible ESPECIALLY JUDY! I have gone there mainly to have charms added to my bracelet out of the blue there's these "rules" only Judy know about that doesn't allow them to add charms to my bracelet because I didn't know if the charms where purchase in Dillard's due to it being a gift. I know it was all due because her age and because she shakes a lot and is to old to stay steady because she turned on the machine and the worker she was with he said he didn't want to learn so then she came up and told me about this. Every time Judy is the one that helps me there's policies that won't let her but whenever it's someone else there's no policies and no problems. read more

I have shopped frequently at Dillards for many years. I have rarely returned merchandise that has been passed their 30 day policy. I recently purchased a comforter set for our new home, and once we moved in I realized the colors would not work. I went in 10 days passed the return policy wanting to return the set for a store credit. I never took the set out of the original package, and the manager was called. He would not issue a store credit which in turn I would have spent in the store. Instead of issuing a store credit, I was turned away, and Dillards lost a good customer. read more

When I asked why, she says "because you can't". I say "ok, why though?" "Because you just can't." OK lady, you lost a sale and a customer. My shopping experience was good ( especially shoe dept) until I got in my car to drive away. Security chased a woman out of the store and I almost hit them both. He had a physical altercation with the woman ( he actually grabbed her and punched her) luckily she was able to get away.so he continued to chase her . Whether or not she did anything you can't assault someone and continuing the chase into the parking lot puts bystanders at risk. CALL THE POLICE. read more

Well maintained. Sales are pretty good especially during Thanks giving & Christmas! Got some great brands stuff for a decent price. Not all Staff members are helpful, some are very reluctant to help/answer. Online shopping at dillards is not that great.. prices seems to be better at stores.. the Online only items have a poor quality and sizes are not apt as well. Got 2 dresses for a 7 year old which runs pretty small.. and they can't be returned as I got them on sale. read more

When i visited this store the other day i was looking for a pair of white shoes and then i found a pair of paul green sneakers that I loved which were so expensive but I was ready to buy them, so i go up to a blonde old lady named Judy and ask for my size . She then tells me that she was busy and would be right with me even though it didn't seem like she really was but I let it go and waited. Finally when she came to help me she said they didn't have my size and wouldn't even check I told her I really liked them and she proceeded to tell me that the shoes wouldn't go with my skin color I was so in disbelief I threw the model shoes and left because I honestly couldn't be in the same place with her for one more second without committing murder.I could give a zero star review I would. The black gentleman at the lady's shoes department was extremely rude and picky in terms of giving different treatments to specific customer' s appearance. If you dress somewhat formal without wearing masks, he will be nice to you. But if you look are non-Caucasian, he throws things with force in your face, whether it's to helping you get another shoe size or ringing you up. He is just straight up rude. Until now, I have always loved the Dillards at Firewheel since it's opened. The associates have always been helpful and the quality of items has been great. Customer service has always been helpful. Till now. I have worked in clothing, jewelry, and department stores and understand policies but associate's words override policy where I've been. I was looking for a leather skirt for my daughter. l showed an associate a picture, on my phone, of the skirt she wanted. She left and brought me back a skirt.The skirt she brought was a very good possibility for the Christmas present. As she was getting ready to ring me up she told me that there was a 3 day return policy on this sale item. I said I couldn't buy the $86 dollar skirt then because Christmas was more than 3 days away. She gave me her card, said she would make an exception, and said that I could return it. I figured, that's nice with all this Covid stuff, and the store can use the sale if it worked. My daughter loved the skirt but it was too big. She went back to the store where she was snubbed by associate upstairs. She went downstairs and was told she could not return the item. She showed them the card but it did no good. When I got off work, I took the skirt to customer service and asked to speak with the store manager. I introduced myself, she did not. I explained to her what had happened. All she could do was parrot the phrase "It's corporate policy to not take a return on those sales items." I totally understand this policy. However, the fact that the associate said otherwise when I said I couldn't buy it should override this. Again she parroted " it's corporate policy...". When I asked if she was going to back her associate's word. Her response was, "I don't know what she said, I wasn't there and she's not here today." I then got upset as she implied I was lying. When I asked if she was calling me a liar she said, "I never said that." I said if the associate was here and backed my words then you would take the return? She parroted the corporate policy..... I inquired, so I can't trust anything your associates say? I should ask for a manager every time I shop? Again the parroting of "it's corporate policy..,,," Frustrated, I told her that I loved their store, shopped there since it's opening, spent a lot of money there, and even alerted the store of two thieves walking out with over $700 dollars of Jeans and other items (which the caught outside). She stood there like a stone. I the explained that I would no longer be shopping their if I was going to be lied to about an $86 dollar skirt that I wasn't going to buy until I was told that I could return. She told me "that's your choice." I was not offered any resolution to the problem. I wasn't ask why I needed to return the skirt. I wasn't asked if we should check for another size, I wasn't told, let me speak with the associate, I was given nothing but "corporate policy says the item can't be returned after three days." Great customer service. Really working for the business. It really hurts me that I will have to travel outside of Garland to another Dillards to do my shopping from now on. It will hurt the associates at the store too. Probably won't bother this woman, this store manager, who won't back her employee's word when you have their associate's card in hand and explain your story. I will not shop in store again. I feel swindled to make a sale. Maybe that wasn't the associate's intention but it certainly is the store managers. I have been trying to reach corporate about their policy. I Noticed that the last few times I've shopped at fire wheel mall none of the people are friendly and offer to help you unless you just stand right in front of them. Dillards really is going down hill. I don't know if it's new management because of the kids or what. When daddy Dillard was alive Dillards stores were stocked much better with nicer stuff and they weren't so expensive like now and the staff was friendlier. I have been to this Dillard's many times and each time I'm there I enjoy my experience. HOWEVER I went in a few days ago because I needed some new shoes. I wasn't dressed very nicely because I just left work so maybe that's why the teenagers there wouldn't help me. After looking around for 5 minutes nobody came up to me. I won't be back to the men's shoe section. Which is sad because I got a pair of shoes a couple months ago and loved my experience. I've been shopping here a lot lately and I haven't been disappointed with the selection of girls apparel for my 6 year old and then shoes for both of my younger children. I recently bought my 10 month old some polo shoes but I had to go switch the size twice and because I paid initially with a check, I had to wait until the 30th to get my money back for them after I did the initial return. That was kind of annoying because my check cleared awhile back but for some reason Dillard's had a policy on the return to have to get refund on or after the 30th. So I just got it yesterday evening. They must have had an awesome sale worth going to because coincidentally I went 5 minutes before closing time and the store was packed with shoppers! People were still trying to go inside as I was exiting and the security guard told them it was closed and the store would open again at 10am. read more

Don't even think about trying to buy a eGift Card from this antiquated retailer. I should have known better after reading reviews on their website, which said that people could not get their gift card orders processed... some internal issue with getting an order verified. Their 1-800 number is staffed with people who call themselves servants but who cannot fix any issues and the supervisors have no idea why the order can't be placed. It appears they run an old DOS program that requires upper management to approve every order. Not only can they not get the transaction approved and processed but after 24 hours their system automatically cancels the gift card order!!!! HOWEVER, the transaction amount stays on your debit card for a week! Hell, I only wanted to give my daughter a gift card for her birthday. Clean, stand alone Dillard's location in the middle of lots of fun dining and shopping. I really didn't like how the store was laid out. I couldn't find what I needed, and no one offered to help.
