WOW! Internet, TV and Phone

WOW! Internet, TV and Phone

I really wish there were more cable & Internet providers in Knoxville, however there is not so basically you pick your poison. When moving into our house we actually had a choice between WOW and the other provider (which my mom hated when in her apt, so we chose to go with WOW, plus they also do not cap their data for internet). For the 1st year we didn't have any major issues, just annoyances.. we would loose connection on WiFi occasionally and for some strange reason on the cable audio would go out no matter which TV you were watching, also we kind of hated not being able to search for shows, you have to know what day and time to record, otherwise you miss out. However even with that our monthly bill was reasonable for phone, internet, cable and all the boxes we had compared to the other company. 2 months ago we decided to downgrade our cable some to save money and from there everything went downhill. The next month when I got my bill it was outrageous!! I called customer service right away questioning it and was basically told that our "promotion" had ended so all the money we were saving had ended and while we were saving a whole $13 everything else was back to full price Let's just say I was not a happy camper when I was told a month earlier when I changed my plan that I would be saving more. I then asked what promotions they had and was basically told there are none for "existing" customers only "new" customers (I had a problem with this since without "existing" customers, you don't have any), if we didn't need the Internet and phone, I would have cancelled everything right there. So I told them I was going to look for other providers and hung up. We decided to get rid of the cable completely and returned all of our boxes, which is going to save us $100 a month (and with a big family to support, that is alot). We had to go all the way to the office to return the stuff and while I was there I was talking to the Receptionist about my issues and she told me that the call center is not allowed to give discounts and if I ever had any issues to come there rather than calling because they are able to do more to help. She was also telling me that they now offer a new 1 gig Internet and with the special promotion it will be even cheaper then what I am paying now (since we use A LOT of Internet here, with at least 5 people on at all times), that it would be better than the 110 mbs we currently have. You do have to sign a 2 year contract, but hey its not bad when we don't plan on moving anytime soon and we know our price will always be the same for the next 2 years. We may get cable again one day, but I doubt it since we mostly watch things online. Over all I would recommend going to the office if the call center is unable to help you like they did me because the office is way nicer and much more helpful.

Quite literally the worst company and customer service ever. I moved out of my apartment and…read morecancelled service. Dropped off the equipment at the Knoxville drop box and they continue to tell me I didn't drop it off and I owe them $235. I've called multiple times and can't get a single person to try and help me with this. Will never recommend or use again. You also cannot go into the office. The doors are locked and "closed to the public" and there's no in person customer service

We recently moved up to Andrews NC and needed Internet Service. I tried three different companies:…read moreFrontier, The Cable Company, and SkyTek. Frontier was one of the most frustrating efforts in my 64 years. I tried to get service, never received service, and paid for the work and now they have billed me for a month's service. I've called eight times and now understand why they have a class action suit pending. Because of my location, I wasn't sure The Cable Company provided service. I called them, they were very nice and said that they thought that it could work for me. They checked it out and I never heard back from them. Doesn't inspire confidence. Finally, SkyTek. They said that they thought that they could provide service. Came out and verified it could happen (within 3 days). They let me know it was doable and asked when I'd like it hooked up. Two days later it was done with no muss and no fuss. The two guys came out, knew what they were doing and got it done. They asked where I wanted it installed and then did it. They double checked things and found an installation error (one was a new employee) and fixed it. Before leaving. It's good quality, reasonably fast and only occasionally glitches when streaming. When I've contacted them, I've gotten an excellent response. I can't say enough about them. If you're reasonable, they seem to be as well.

Will was the rep who "helped" us, or didn't help us. He said we had to call transfer services before my mom could upgrade her phone. So after being on hold and on the phone with the transfer services for over an hour. Will told us we must do this before she could upgrade her phone. So we did this and then got back with Will. Then he tells us we have to wait 3 months before Verizon will recognize the new account as a loyal account. He was very flippant with his responses. My mom has been a customer for 30 years and the number has been with Verizon the entire time. He was so rude and completely not customer service oriented that my mom stated that she mind as well just switch to spectrum and he shrugged his shoulders and said ok. My mom walked out on him and it was all I could not to absolutely cause a scene. This pathetic excuse for a Verizon rep should not work with customers, he is utterly useless. I walked out after my mom to calm her down. About 15 minutes later, I see him walk out the door to leave to go home. If he used his brain, which is in the lump two feet above his ass, then he could have passed us off to someone else that would have been more helpful.
