Based on the great reviews, I called Damon to help me fix my desk top. I have not used it in 2 years (since we moved here) The clock would not stay current which created security issues and I could not connect to the Internet. I googled it on my phone and had no luck. I explained it to Damon and he said-sounds like a battery issue (in computer lingo) and that's about $2 at Fryes. So I pull off the side of the hard drive and there is a simple battery (that I had a ton of at home for my little tea light candles) and it was fixed!! I actually found these guys on Yelp and thought there is no way that they have gotten nothing but 5 stars and great reviews. I stand corrected, they offer an amazing service. I called about a week ago for my Mac that had died. Damon was giving me instructions over the phone on how to fix it myself. I have never heard of an IT company doing this. I ended up grabbing all the components he recommended and took my computer by the shop. I showed up earlier than they were supposed to be open but they were already there. They were very honest and took time to explain what was going on. Four hours later they called me to let me know that my Mac was finished. They even threw in some extras. I took my laptop in for problems with the headphone jack and charging port. Damon was able to take a look at it immediately, discovered that the charging port problem was actually my adapter being broken and gave me advice for what new adapter to buy, and then opened up the laptop and made some minor adjustments to the headphone jack. Everything was done within 15 minutes, and he even replaced two screws that had gone missing, all free of charge! It's quite simple, in a time where follow thru and reasonable pricing has been lost in the shuffle, Damon has brought it back to life when servicing my computer. I was in a pinch with a failed hard drive and TWO external backups that I "thought" would be an easy restore to a new hard drive but was I ever wrong. I just had my computer fixed by Damon at Digital Dummys Computer Services. He is awesome! I am known for pinching pennies, and I can assure you his prices are very reasonable. I had this computer given to me by my son. The computer worked fine, but there was no sound, and it could only connect to the internet wirelessly. When I first called Damon on the phone, he tried to troubleshoot the problem with me over the phone. That impressed me, as most repair people want you to bring the computer in right away so they can start being paid for their services. When it appeared that it was a more serious problem than what could be fixed over the phone, Damon did suggest that I bring it in to his shop. Being very concerned about how much a repair bill could run me, I asked Damon up front how much it could roughly cost me. He told me that he would try and fix it for free! Right at that moment, I was becoming a huge fan of Damon and Digital Dummys Computer Services. I quickly drove over to Damon's store and he started working on my computer. I watched him as he tried to install free drivers from the internet, and do many other methods to repair the sound problem. Unfortunately, the sound card on my computer was bad. At that time, Damon suggested I go and buy an inexpensive sound card from Fry's and he showed me how I could install it myself easily. To me, this was quite unbelievable! Not only had he just spent the better part of an hour troubleshooting my computer, but he was also recommending a competitor and showing me how to save more money by installing it myself! It was reminiscent of the scene from Miracle on 34th Street where the Macy's Santa recommends the customers go to Gimbels because Macy's didn't have the item the customer needed. Because I am so inept when it comes to computers, I mentioned to Damon that I would like to go buy the sound card from Fry's and then come back and pay him to install it for me, so I could be assured it was done correctly. At that point he said "Let me check around and see if I have a spare sound card." He found a good used sound card and installed it. Voila! The sound works perfectly! Damon installed the new/used sound card, fixed my internet connection so now it connects through an ethernet cable as well as wirelessly, got my 2 DVD drives working, and optimized my computer so it runs super-fast. Damon also installed a program that protects my computer from viruses. He did all this for what I think was an incredibly reasonable, if not too low of a price. So, I did a search yesterday here on yelp for a Laptop repair service close to my parents. My Dad needed to clean his up. I called Damon and he said, "If he could get it soon, he could probably have it back the same day." Well, above and beyond is what he did. My Dad quickly brought it over and stayed as he was done in less than half an hour. He even updated his virus software. As my Dad went to pay him, he refused to take his money and said that he hadn't been there long and it was an easy fix. WOW! What a GREAT guy! To top off his great service, my Dad had noticed after he left that his little mouse thing that plugs in the side was missing, so he called up Damon to ask if it had fallen off there. This is the kind of business that is worth of driving to even if you are not local. My Asus laptop appeared to have a DC jack problem. I was expecting to wait at least a couple of days to have it repaired and expected about $75 in costs. To my great surprise he called me and said my DC jack was just fine. Within several hours i picked up my laptop. He did ask if I had animals because he cleaned it out and found animal hair inside the computer. I feel so grateful I expected to pay $75 because he opened up my computer to diagnose it. Instead, he told me there was no charge. Absolutely can't say enough about the service here. I brought in a desktop tower that wouldn't start. After assessing the problem over the phone, he went to work immediately when I arrived. After only 10 minutes or so he was finished and I was back in business! He dusted out the inside of the computer and carried it to my car.
