Now I know somewhat about crabs but I was told to get crabs legs so asked a very polite worker behind the counter and they pointed to the freezer case in the corner of the store. When I left New Jersey and moved to Providence, I was in a bit of a panic as to where to find wild-caught salmon and other brilliant seafood such as I'd been enjoying for 14 years (10 of which I traveled 40 minutes each way to purchase for ten of those years) from the awesome Esposito's Seafood Market in Oakhurst. I stumbled across Diggers Catch--and panic over--have been in seafood heaven since. Generous portions, excellent freshness, incredible RI clam chowder, etc. Bill, staff and product are the best! Amazing store. I highly recommend going to Digger's for all of your seafood and beyond needs. The staff is very friendly and always brighten my mood when I go in. To be completely Fair, I do not buy that often. For the person that is more of an expert at fish, they might tell you that it is Perfectly Natural for a fish to smell and taste fishy. I was always taught that if a fish is too potent, there may be something wrong with it and not to eat it. I spent about $30 on a pound of small bay scallops and a pound and a half of scrod. I was unwilling to throw it away simply because it smells fishy. So we did end up baking them. The fish was perfect... Maybe I'm not used to fresh just frozen? Maybe someone could fill me in lol. I will say this staff is super friendly, and willing to talk with you about items and how to cook them. They seem super cool and down-to-earth. At the end of the day I'm just glad that I do not have to scale a fish. It may be expensive but I'm worth it.

I found both at Andrade's. I always shop around, and Andrade's prices were great - significantly lower than anything I could find in the area. The lobsters were properly feisty and Nick was very helpful, selecting six two-pounders for us with equal-width tails. (Important for presentation!) I remove the claws, par boil them, and add the meat to the stuffing. (An old trick I learned from Jed Hanley's Fore 'n Aft back in the day.) Although the claws' shells were thick, and actually required a hammer to crack them, I don't think I've ever gotten so much meat. I also bought a pound of peeled and deveined shrimp and a pound of excellent, fresh and sweet scallops for the stuffing. This year's result was among the best I've made.
