One of my places to get seafood or fish and chips. They have really good and large portions of fish and chips. They also have a clean environment with plenty of extras available like tartar sauce or hot sauce. The service has always been good here. I like buying local and because it's close. First time customer this week and it was very disappointing. I purchased the sole stuffed with crab and it stunk old fish as soon as I opened the container. The whole house smelled like rotten fish and it should not have been sold, but thrown out. It went straight in the garbage (outside) and a waste of money and will not be returning. Worst seafood ever. Bought a bag of snow crab legs and they were bad. The smell was off, but I thought it was just me. Looking closer and ew the meat looked so funny. Legs were extremely anorexic too. Barely any meat at all. Where are you guys getting your crab legs, Lincoln Woods??? LOL no but seriously! Then the guy said the price had gone up to $25.99 a pound but gave it to me for $20 a pound. Why because they knew they were bad?? This is what I get to cheating on Pacific Seafood Market! I really only come here on special occasions because as most of us know, seafood can be pretty expensive. But it's not because CC's are themselves expensive, it's that I want to impress my wife or dinner party with a variety of options of sea creatures but on a budget. Look no further than CC's, where you can get stuffed lobster you merely throw in the oven for less than $10. Or tuna steaks under $15/lb that are brightly red and downright beautiful beasts of yellowfin. Scallops that are some of the cheapest around but still huge and meaty. It's a typical New England style fish market but what makes it a bit different is that they are located on the busy Mineral Spring thruway which at rush hour, can be difficult to get out of (especially if you are turning left). Sure, they aren't on the coast but still close enough to get some of the freshest catch available that day. I don't know of anything they don't carry you may want, unless it's super exotic like jellyfish. It's a RI stuffies headquarters and they have a variety of those already made up, ready to throw in your own oven. That's another thing that keeps drawing me back here, who wants to take the time to stuff their own lobster when you can get them pre-made? I asked how long and at what temp and the guys are quick to chime in how to cook your goods. The parking lot is a bit tiny and can get busy at times and like I said, it's not the best of locations but if you are in Providence looking for a top notch seafood market with excellent customer service, you've come to the right place. read more

I stop by on way home after the gym. They are one of the only places around that has fresh catfish. I used to buy the oysters when they were $20/lb typically got each one for around 75cents, couldn't beat that price. They have since increased the price to $1.25 a piece. I can get them less at the dozens of restaurants that do buck-a-shuck. I have never had a problem with spoiled items. I buy my fish and cook it within 24 hours like an intelligent person. They do always have what I want and they have it when I want it. However more than anything what I want it's for my fish not to taste fishy...and you know exactly what I'm talking about. To be completely Fair, I do not buy that often. For the person that is more of an expert at fish, they might tell you that it is Perfectly Natural for a fish to smell and taste fishy. I was always taught that if a fish is too potent, there may be something wrong with it and not to eat it. I spent about $30 on a pound of small bay scallops and a pound and a half of scrod. I was unwilling to throw it away simply because it smells fishy. So we did end up baking them. The fish was perfect... Maybe I'm not used to fresh just frozen? Maybe someone could fill me in lol. I will say this staff is super friendly, and willing to talk with you about items and how to cook them. They seem super cool and down-to-earth. At the end of the day I'm just glad that I do not have to scale a fish. It may be expensive but I'm worth it. read more

Omg I felt like I was on an episode of Punked. First- There are waaaay too many people crowded inside. Then the snarky, rude cashier basically ignored me when we asked if the clams were wholebelly and had her nose hanging out of her mask. But wait... there's more... the guy running food out of the kitchen, completely maskless, was screaming out people's order names while simultaneously dropping F bombs like crazy. Then when a different, more sane food runner starts calling out people's names, the snarky cashier then yells at the old people asking if their food was ready. The food was just ok. Fish and chips were ok but the whole belly clams were weak. I never do Yelp reviews but this really annoyed me. We are trying to open up schools. Put your damn mask on and cover your nose. And while your at it why don't you appreciate your customers a tad? read more

It all began when I went to my local Stop and Shop to buy some shrimp. They had removed their fish counter and replaced it with an assortment of slimy looking things under plastic and frozen bags of shrimp and clams. I live in the ocean state for Pete's sake. My grocery store should not be selling frozen shrimp from Guatemala. I made it my mission to find a place that sold fresh, local fish and came upon Captain's Catch. Not only has the seafood not been sitting in a freezer or on a plane or truck for days, it's very reasonably priced. Cheaper than Whole Foods. They make their own stuffies that are incredible. Just heat them up in the oven at 325 for 20 minutes, and on Fridays, they do fish n' chips. They also have fresh lobster AND once I was running late on a Sunday so I called and told them, and they said they would stick around to wait for me. You can't beat service like that. read more

This place is amazing. I've been here a few times now but haven't reviewed it. We had a seafood Thanksgiving this year and I placed my order last week. It was ready for pickup Wednesday at the time I specified and everything was fresh and as asked. I ended up modifying my order when I arrived and the manager and cashier were so gracious. Everyone loved dinner last night! Sure, it speaks to my cooking skills but more importantly to me it was the freshness of the food. This is the first seafood market that I tried from our new Elmhurst neighborhood. Everything is clean, well marked and reasonably priced. People were helpful and friendly, offering free parsley to go with. I got schrod, salmon and stuffies to bake at home. So far, so good. I think we have a new seafood market. Clean, delicious and fresh seafood! This is a seafood market but they cook up orders. The calamari is my favorite. I've only had it about three times but I love it! I called in my order to Captain's Catch on the night of the big March storm at 5:25. We had lost our electricity at home and wondered if they would be open. The gentleman who took my order told be it would be ready for 6:00 and that they were a little behind. No problem I said. I left my house only 10 minutes away and got there to find they had lost their electricity. Thinking I was not going to be eating Fish and Chips they completed everyone's orders that had called in and did it in the dark. Because they had no electricity their credit card machine wasn't working and I had no cash. No problem he said come back tomorrow and you can pay us then. Love this place! Freshest seafood around! We get fish from here at least once a week. I get salmon, housemade stuffies (YUM), and they have the best shrimp coctail around! They make their own coctail sauce, you can get regular or spicy, spicy is my favorite. They have fish and chips on Fridays and it is cod and french fries and is delicious. The clam chowder is flavorful and fresh-tasting, but even better, they have some of the best fish and chips around. It isn't overly breaded or too greasy, but just perfect.
