Why haven't I written a review yet when I've been coming here for years. I love this place and I rave about it to anyone who'll listen. It doesn't smell in here, it's always very clean and in order and they also have a good selection of stuff. Everytime I've come I'm always greeted and any questions I have are answered. I usually come in for little neck steamers and clams. Occasionally I'll get the whole snails and some stuffies. They have all types of stuffies! Lobster, crab, clams, shrimp etc etc. my favorite are the shrimp and quahog (not spicy) ones. They're so tasty and the prices are average prices for seafood markets. I absolutely love my seafood from here and I'll only get it here. They do have fish, live lobsters and tons more- and I believe on Fridays only they have hot food. Although I've never tried it yet. read more

Went here for the first time and was pleased. A friend of mine who is a fisherman once told me that if I smelled fish or bleach at a fish market to leave. This place just smelled fresh. I bought stuffed sole, sea scallops, steamers, quahogs to make chowder and coleslaw. Steamers were from Maine. I had just bought steamers from Dockside and they were not local, probably from Maryland. Big difference! The coleslaw was yummy, on the sweet side, the way I like it. I will I usually go to Dockside on Warwick Ave, or the Fresh Catch in Providence for my lobsters, clams and clams. But we happened to be in Apponaug and decided to stop by and get some steamers for an out of town visitor. It is very clean and there and no smell of bleach. They have all types of very fresh fish, shrimp (raw, cooked, and stuffed ready to cook) . As well as clams (all types) and of course, lobsters of all sizes. The prices were market priced so it was on point with other fish mongers. Because it has been a very windy week and the seas were rolling , the steamers were $7.99 per lb. Sticker shock but no one was going out to dig them for the last 5-6 days. Normally in RI steamers run $4.99- $5.00 per lb, with them going as low as $2.99-3.99 in summer. Regardless, we bought 5 lbs and steamed them at home and served with melted butter. They were fresh, not sandy and we all enjoyed them immensely. I had picked up octopus salad for my husband at home, and he said it was delicious! Great flavors and lots of octopus. Perhaps next time I will get him the snail salad I will definitely return if in the area. Server was friendly and knowledgeable as well. read more

I saw a food recipe in a RI magazine that mentioned Fis Chic breading and found out this place carries it. While here, I couldn't resist trying their Fresh Fish and Chips. They were right on the money!! Great home made tartar sauce finished it off perfectly. read more

So sad this used to be our "go to" for seafood. The website had them open until 5:00 on sunday. No indication that they would close early. I walked in at 3:50 pm and was told , in a quite unfriendly tone, "sorry we are closing up". I said, but aren't you open until 5:00? The answer "not today, it's father's day" (which is exactly why I was there actually). So off I went to Dave's Market to surprise my husband with lobster. The service there was friendly and helpful. As I drove by captain's catch on the way home, there were about three cars in the lot, another pulling in, most likely assuming they were open until 5:00 as posted, as i did. Next time, go to Dave's Market. A much nicer experience. read more

I come here at least 2-3 times a month, and the fish varies in freshness. Twice in the last month the fish that I brought home to cook wasn't fresh, and I ended up throwing it in the trash (and it's not cheap) and had nothing for dinner. I wish their freshness was a bit more consistent, afterall, the reason I go to a fish monger, instead of the supermarket for my seafood is for the quality. I don't mind paying a premium, but at least make it worth the money. read more

I recommend their fish & chip and the clam cakes, they are both very good they use haddock fish nice and white and flaky. Their fresh fish is exceptionally good and reasonably priced. It is a small place, but don't over look this place, you will be glad you went there. read more

I dont know if the regulars for this place understand what this means...I do not. Rule number 1 for whomever it is managing this establisment. I adore lobster and this place has it (imagine that) Price goes with the market so I am not saying the prices are a steal or anything but they were fair. The place was clean and had a lot of options. They steam lobsters for you if you give them time in advance, because you know that no one really likes to kill the adorable sea floor walking creatures. The have a ton of pre-prepped stuff too like stuffed lobster too. To be from Rhode Island is to love sea food. I love sea food and establishments that provide it to me. Nice work guys. I usually order fish and chips which I can never complain about except they charge extra for cole slaw which comes standard every other restaurant that serves fish n' chips. My mistake was ordering the seafood platter. First for the good...The fried clams, fries and fish were good even though they only gave a 1/2 portion of fish. Now for the bad...the calamari were cooked so much they were like elastic bands and the bay scallops were so overcooked and brown that it was more like chewing overcooked chicken (I never realized that you could ruin deep fried scallops.) Lastly I called in for my order and was told 30 minutes, I arrived 30 minutes later and it took another 20 minutes later until my meals were ready. If that was the case I would assume the food would be cooked properly. read more

Went in before closing and was able to order take out fresh seafood from a seafood store. I ordered the fish and clam cakes. The fish was delicious and the clam cake consistency and taste were great. Mine were a little burnt but probably because they were closing but everything still tasted really good. The staff is very friendly, little tables to eat at if you choose and very clean. read more

Good local joint. They do fish & chips on Thursday and Fridays that are tasty. The fish is always fresh, sometimes a bit averagely priced. Every now and then they will have crazy good deals on freshly caught local stuff. I much prefer going here over a Shaws or Stop & Shop type market. Recommended if you're in the area. read more
