The Lobsters were steamed perfectly and served with drawn butter. They were 1 1/4 pounders with a shell you could crack. The lobster was sweet. Delicious. See photo. The outside kitchen at their home is well equipped. Before lobsters were served, they made homemade Clam Cakes. They were perfectly cooked with crispy golden exterior and crumbly interior. Outstanding. In addition, NE and Manhattan Clam Chowders were served. My favorite is always the homemade Portuguese inspired "Stuffies" my cousin serves. She prepares them with chopped fresh Quahog clams, finely chopped red pepper, a little bread crumbs, hot sauce, and spices. Then, they are baked in the Quahog half shells. Full of clam bits, they are superior to the ones you get at seafood restaurants that are loaded with bread crumbs. She got the recipe from her Portuguese MIL.

I sat down in the deli to enjoy what I came for and I tried the snail salad first. It was so delicious with a lot of flavor. Reminded me of my mom's cole slaw but with snails. Next I tried the clam chowder and that was the best ive ever had. It was so delicious and milky. Lastly I tried the stuffies and they had a really good taste that ive never had before. I traditionally make baked stuffed lobsters…read moreon Memorial Day Weekend and this year, with six of us partaking, it was especially important to find lobsters that were high-quality and reasonably priced. I found both at Andrade's. I always shop around, and Andrade's prices were great - significantly lower than anything I could find in the area. The lobsters were properly feisty and Nick was very helpful, selecting six two-pounders for us with equal-width tails. (Important for presentation!) I remove the claws, par boil them, and add the meat to the stuffing. (An old trick I learned from Jed Hanley's Fore 'n Aft back in the day.) Although the claws' shells were thick, and actually required a hammer to crack them, I don't think I've ever gotten so much meat. I also bought a pound of peeled and deveined shrimp and a pound of excellent, fresh and sweet scallops for the stuffing. This year's result was among the best I've made. Thanks to Nick, David and all the staff at Andrade's for your help. We'll see you soon.

There are some staff that seem bothered or border on rude. This was NEVER the case in the past. I was there today and when an older woman asked about crab when she was at the fish counter, she was told "right behind you"...no smile from the staff person...almost annoyed..he could have said "ma'am..its in the cooler behind you". Courtesy goes a long way..and it only takes a minute. I am happy to say the staff person who worked with me was extremely helpful...I am one to want the perfect piece of fish..I'll admit, but never to be bothersome...at 14.99 a lb on sale for haddock...I do like to choose my dinner. I think some customer service training or a reminder that we are the customer is invaluable. Wholefoods is up the street now..Tony's does work with them...I've seen their trucks in Providence...but I'd rather give my fish/seafood business to Tony's. Food for thought.
