Would absolutely go here again for fresh seafood. The man working the counter was kind enough to cook our lobster for us. His crab cakes and stuffies were the best stuffies I've ever had. The lobster was fantastic. The shop was clean, organized and the food was so fresh. The variety of seafood this place had was impressive. We can't wait to go back and grab some swordfish and cod to cook up at home. I recommend this place for fresh seafood to cook at home or a quick bite to take out. read more

I ordered a plate of scallops. The boy working the phone said that if I wanted "sea scallops" it would cost me $2.00 more than the bay scallops. So I said I would like the "sea scallops" . When I got to there they were about to charge me more. I said there was a mistake. That I was told it would cost me $8.95 plus tax. He told me he made a mistake. I told him he made the mistake that he should honor the price he gave me on the phone. The manager came out of the back room and complained to me as if I were trying to cheat him. I told them I should be charged what they quoted me. after causing such a fuss they filled my order for the price they gave me. When I got home with my meal I realized they gave me such a skimpy order. I received only 8 sea scallops in the meal. I was treated rudely. The manager needs a customer relations course. On bad recommendation for the price of $1.00. I will not recommend people there anymore. The place has been under new management. It will probably happen again if they don't change there attitude. My co-worker suggested this place and I was up for some fattening seafood. I call ahead (even though I heard it doesn't matter) and place my order of clam cakes and french fries, give my name and inform them that someone else will be pick up my order. When my co-workers return and I open my order, I find FISH and chips instead of my order of clam cakes and fries. I call over and tell them that my order was wrong. The guy says that they lost my order and that one of my co-workers told them my order was fish and chips. I ask how my order was lost, he says he doesn't know. I aske if they will bring my order to me (the place is up the street). He sounded baffled and said they don't deliver. I thanked them and hung up. As for the food, it was eateble because I drowned it in tartar sauce, mayo and ketchup. Never again will I order from them, and I will tell ANYONE who asks that they are incompetent and that their food is mediocre. read more

Used to go there several times a month, I never had a bad experience until I bought some lobsters...3 of the 4 were fine but the 4th was dead in the bag that evening for supper. The next day I stopped in to tell them and I was told that I should have brought in the dead lobster! Really? I even showed them a picture with my finger in the claw. Then I was told by the owner, Mark, that it is fine to cook lobsters that have died in the past 6-8 hours. This was something that I did not know. Instead of throwing it overboard, I should have cooked it. I am sorry that I ever stopped back because after the tongue thrashing that I got I will never go back. Did he really think I was trying to just beat him for a 1.25 lb lobster? I guess he did because he didn't budge on making good. From my point of view, Captain's Catch in Warwick gets an F for customer service. read more

We purchased local sea scallops. I have had scallops many time before and cook them in sauté pan a little olive oil ,salt and pepper that's it. This time they were surrounded by foam as they cooked and we got thus wired gentian like stuff stuck to the thongs and pan. Some kind if chemical on them? Not that fresh! Went there and bought scallops and shrimp. The shrimp were ok but the scallops were clearly treated and not that fresh!!! If you are sensitive to Polyphosphates or are looking to actual be able to pan sear scallops stay away!!!!! read more

Was very disappointed with the fish and chip order I got today. The size of the fish was the size of a filet-o-fish. Literally 3 x 3. Didn't realize it until I was home. Don't bother calling in your order OR going to pick it up unless you enjoy being treated rudely, and WHATEVER YOU DO, do not, I repeat DO NOT order the clambakes. My clambake only had lobster, steamers, a couple potatoes and a yam! THAT WAS IT! I called to let them know, I was told to come in and get those items. PERIOD! I was TWENTY MINUTES AWAY! When I went to eat the food, the steamers were old, as though they were cooked twice (shriveled and dry), and the lobster was half HOLLOW! Please note, this is Captain's Seafood, NOT the Captain's Catch that used to be there. They are no relation at all to Captain's Catch, which was EXCELLENT. I know because I contacted Captain's Catch in NP! Don't be a fool - seafood is expensive - spend your $ elsewhere! read more
