We had a great experience at Dig World in Katy! We visited first thing on a Tuesday morning, which was the perfect time to go. The park was not crowded, and our 2-year-old was able to spend as much time as he wanted at each activity without having to wait. It started getting busier around 10:00-10:30 a.m., so I would definitely recommend arriving early. Our son absolutely loves tractors and big construction equipment, so this place was a dream come true for him. There were plenty of hands-on activities, and he had the best time exploring everything. Even though it was a hot day, there was a good amount of shade throughout the park, along with lots of picnic tables where families could sit, relax, or enjoy a snack. There is also a nice playground, which gave our toddler another fun option when he wanted a break from the equipment. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, and we especially appreciated that they had two family restrooms available. There is also a concession stand for snacks and drinks and a gift shop at the end, which was a nice touch before heading home. So the caveat with this is that you're not going to get a whole lot of time and these machine but without this experience, you wouldn't get any time at all. Parking: parking is a big lot, and it isn't going to be a problem at all for anyone that is looking to come here Value: so I think anyone who accounts here is going to enjoy it because you're not going to be able to have this experience anywhere else.m and it's a funny, interesting experience that will allow you to try a few things. Hot tip: it's so hot tip is depending on when you go.It is going to be hot and you need to prepare for that.I would highly recommend that you bring fans and understand that you're not going to be covered at all. In one or two of the machines you might have a fan that's blowing on you but its HOT. The kids had a good time at the place. Happy the lines were not crazy long. It was a very unique experience and with the drive. There are about a 3 tracks rides and about 2 areas of cranes we could use to pick up different items. And an excavator area to dig. We got lifted and also a bouncy area which was nice. There was a playground and sand area to play in. It's nice for the amount of people that were there. It would be awful if there were much more people cause of it being outdoors. Came here for a different experience and it was a birthday party this time. Everyone is under the big covered picnic thing with tables and they have a lot of space. The attendants were on point. Kids got to do all the things but it's crazy on a Saturday so take note of that. Also looked like football crazy people wearing all of their college stuff out there. Dig World is mainly for the kiddos... but I'll be honest, we hosted a friend's 49th bday there to fullfill her dream of "playing in dirt with big machines." Dig World is located in the Katy's Mills Mall parking lot. It's ~3.5 acres of activities, ranging from excavator games on a Cat mini and a steering course on a Skid Steer Loader to ATV courses and a 40-foot boom lift. And if your littles are too short to opperate the machine, they are allowed to sit on your lap. There's a refreshment stand (that sells beer), shaded areas that are perfect for bday party setups, a bounce house, gift shop, restrooms... We went on a frigid cold Saturday morning, and - what felt like - were the only ones there for the first hour. Kids loved it. I don't think I saw one tantrum at this place. Possibly when it was time to leave for some folks. This place gives you at least 2 hours which is plenty of time to ride all the vehicles. I will say go earlier or on a slower day. We did and only waited in a longer line on one of our last rides. My kids had a blast and were tired when we got done. I guess it was all the excitement. Not sure how often we will be back because it was a drive for us. I can't say I totally dig this place, but my son still enjoyed it. If your little one is into construction vehicles, he or she will enjoy this place. As long as your kiddo meets the height criteria, he or she can drive a skid steer, control an excavator, or drive an UTV. If too short for the ride, no worries, they can still sit on your lap as you control the machine. One admission covers unlimited rides. You'll just need to get back in line to ride again. Other activities include a big sand box with toys and panning for treasures in water (i.e. fossils). My only gripes about these two activities is that the sand box isn't covered from the blistering summer sun and the panning activity is expensive (each bag of sand is about $10-13 [as of June 2023]). Many of the little construction toys are also broken, but the kids didn't care. The staff is generally friendly except for a few that we encountered which were mostly nonchalant. On one particular ride, I noticed that one family got to stay on almost twice as long as I did, which I thought was a bit unfair. The exit is through a gift shop. Bring blindfolds for your kids so you can make it out of there with money left in your pocket (just kidding). They have water fountains and air conditioned restrooms. Tip: Bring an umbrella and hat for shade. Bring your own sun screen. The sand box play area gets really hot for toddlers. Heat stroke is a real danger during the summer. read more

We learned about Dig World via social media and were excited when our travel plans changed and we had the opportunity to bring the kids here. It's not a very big place, but it offers a few unique experiences that the kids really enjoyed (from 3 - almost 8 years old). They really took to every opportunity to try the excavators and loved going back to try again after they got the hang of it and try some more. The skid steers were fun to operate since they were so simple, but wished there was a place we could practice some skills with it beyond driving. The UTV was great to let yougner ones steer but it took the longest since there's only one. Overall the kids had a great time. It was a bit pricey, but the generous military discount did help some. I could see if you lived near here, this being a great place to take the kids for an hour with an annual pass. I wouldn't necessarily divert on my trip to come here, but at the same time it is a unique experience (I've never seen anything else like this where we live) so if you have kids that just love construction vehicles or need something different for them to try, this is worth it. read more

This a very interesting concept to let's kids experience the work of construction equipment. Really a fun and safe way to try the equipment in an organized setting. We spent about 1.5 hours here before it got too hot (in early October). We never had to wait for any of the equipment. The only wait was for the atv/golf cart item as there was only one and it was a very popular item for all ages! In terms of the experience, you get 3-4 minutes on the excavators and the kids can do by themselves if they are the right age. The kids in our group were under 4 yrs old so an adult sat with them while both kid and adult navigated the equipment. In addition to all the digging equipment (skid steer and excavators), there was a gem mining station. You had to buy premade gem bags which range in price from the lowest around $7-8. We bought 2 bags and split them between 3 kids. These are essentially dirt bags with gems inside and you wash them with water through a screen to remove the dirt and only have rocks left. It can be a bit procedure for a brief 3 minute activity but the kids loved it. read more

This place is such an awesome time for kids and adults!! I learned about this through a family friend that brought their daughter here, and I must say, we had a blast and we will be back!! Dig World opened back in April out in Katy near the mall, easy to get to and find! I would definitely recommend going early so you don't have to wait too long in line. You can purchase tickets online and it shows which times of day are busier than others so you can plan accordingly. There are so many fun excavators and tractors to get on and we had fun on all of them. From digging dirt to stacking cones and riding around the track. They have where you can find stones, fossils and rocks in water as well and you can purchase the bags of dirt/rock for the kids. Lots of open space, they had a playground, jump house, and other areas for play and seating. A truck where you can purchase snacks, beverages and then a gift shop on your way out! Too cool for words! We randomly stumbled upon the establishment while heading to the neighboring Bass Pro. It was just about to open and we decided to check it out. For around $80 the family got to spend two full hours, more than adequate, piloting and operating Caterpillar skids and excavators. Bonus, the skids had air conditioning! Going up in a bucket lift was cool. The excavator challenges were cool but the best was just digging. If there was no line they would ask if you wanted to keep going. It was cathartic, digging to your hearts content. Finding simple pleasure in the power of the machine and your connection to it as you bring bucket after bucket of earth up and drop it a few feet away. If you really want to get crazy you put the dirt back... highly recommend! read more

My four year old loved being able to operate the equipment alone and with my husband. It was fun for all. We visited on Mother's Day and were pleasantly surprised that my ticket was free for the day. It wasn't too busy so no lines for the attractions. My only complaint is a bottle of water is $3.00, a little steep, and entrance/exit lines aren't well marked for when the park is busier (all mentioned on survey to park). Overall it was a fantastic day - two hours is plenty of time to do it all and have fun. read more
