Trek Bicycle Burnaby - My bike getting serviced

A few months ago, I brought my bike in to fix a slow leak in the rear tire and to find out how…read morethose new fangled thin ventiles worked to inflate the tire with my hand pump. They replaced the tube and recommended a protective strip around the inside of the tire to prevent thorn punctures. I rode it for a few months with the rear wheel having an annoying little bump with every rotation. I thought maybe that protective strip was bunched up a bit and would eventially straigten out. Instead it got worse and eventually the tube was pushed out from under the tire and displaced the tire so it started to rub once per revolution against the frame of the bike. I eventually had to half push, half carry the bike up to Trek from Marine Drive and Royal Oak where it got to the point where the bike was un-rideable. Trek very quickly replaced the tube and straightened out the tire so I could ride it home while they ordered in a thornproof tube for me. A few blocks from the shop, the tube exploded with a sound like a shot and the tire completely came off the wheel and was flopping around sometimes at right angles to the wheel. Meanwhile the remains of the tube was wrapping itself around the hub. It was mostly downhill to the nearest sky train station and the shop was closed by then, so I coasted to the Edmonds sky train station mostly on the rim. The next day, I stuffed the wreckage into the trunk of my car and drove back to the Trek shop and said please just fix it. A few days later, I got a text that it was ready to pick up. When I showed up, they brought up the bike and said they had to replace the rear wheel and put on a better tire which was thorn proof. The woman I was dealing with said there would be no charge and refused my offer to pay for the wheel since I did ride on it for a couple of km downhill. I'm very impressed with their integrity. The new tire and wheel made the 5km or so ride from the shop to home with no problems and no more of that periodic bumping which was so annoying on the old wheel and tire combo. I'm pretty sure they've learned from this experience and won't be offering that thorn-proof overlay on the tube anymore and will instead recommend replacing the tire with a tougher one.

I've been a few times now, it's pretty close to where I live. I've had my bike serviced here…read morebefore (flat tire etc.) and have bought accessories here. The staff here are pretty friendly and helpful. They have a decent selection of bikes and things but like most bike shops cuz of covid they can run out fast. They are a Trek store so that's what they carry the most and Bontrager. They used to take appointments online but I don't think they do that anymore. The store is a good size and clean, I believe they have two floors. There is lots of parking as well. Overall a good place to get your bike serviced and to get accessories......

Two weeks after I bought my bike the pedal started sticking so I brought it back, they changed it for me without charging me. It's not a super big store but they have a good selection of helmets and other accessories. Bikes do go fast these days in the time of covid though which is why when I found the size/color and brand (specialized) I wanted I bought it right away. I'll be back when my bike needs to be serviced or I need any accessories......

The folks here are always so pleasant (and also patient)…read more My wife and I decided it's time for our daughter to get a new bike. We have barely a clue on what to go with and certainly required advice for the right bike. While their supply was limited, he was able to recommend a bike that fit our daughter perfectly. He allowed our daughter to give the bike a test in the parking lot and didn't rush any decision. In fact, another employee did a quick tweak to the bike and let my daughter go for another spin to see if it made the use of the gears any easier. We also learned that they have a buy back / trade in program for children's bikes since the kiddos tend to outgrow their bikes quite quickly. I recommend anyone in the area to include this place when seeking out a bike. I bought my previous bike from them about 10yrs ago and remember the same high level of service and support.

Great business. Great people. Great product. But the follow up service is suffering. Very Slow…read morereply to email or tickets. No one answers the phone. You get a voice machine stating they do not call back and ask people to log an online service ticket. Basically they are understaffed to support the simple questions from buyers. Also I am an electro mechanical engineer and their on-line install videos forget to include many steps. There are no paper instructions in the kits. Nothing!. Had to find a utube video from some else to solve the issue. So even though they tell you the instructions are on line, they are poorly done and incomplete. On the Good Side. They have resolved problems and questions when you show up at their door.

Prospective customers should approach ENVO and their retail subsidiary, EbikeBC, with significant…read morecaution. My experience with both the Veemo trike and the company's post‑sale conduct has been unacceptable. Four months after purchasing the trike, I have still not been able to ride it, and the company has shown little willingness to take responsibility for the condition in which it was delivered. Before purchasing, I was explicitly assured that I would receive advance notice of shipment, including a delivery date, and that the trike would arrive fully assembled and ready to ride. Neither commitment was honored. Instead, the trike arrived with multiple defects that rendered it unsafe and inoperable. These included: - A wiring connection too short to reach the display screen, preventing the trike from powering on - A brake disc installed backwards, with stripped hardware - An accessory power switch that did not function - Handlebars that rotated freely to the point of becoming vertical - Fenders that struck the frame, preventing the trike from turning When I reported these issues, EbikeBC insisted that the trike was "operating as designed." One representative even claimed that the fenders were intended to hit the frame during a turn--an explanation that defies basic mechanical logic. I requested a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) three times, as required under EbikeBC's own terms of sale. Each request was ignored or deflected. Instead of honoring their contractual obligations, the company advised me to revisit the initial setup to avoid "significant restocking and return costs." At EbikeBC's direction, I obtained a professional inspection from a certified bicycle mechanic. The findings were unequivocal: "At time of inspection, the vehicle was not delivered in a safe or ready‑to‑ride condition. Multiple assembly deficiencies were present, including critical steering and braking faults that would ordinarily be identified during basic final assembly and quality control checks. While several issues were corrected, functional defects remain that cannot be resolved without manufacturer intervention." Despite this independent assessment, ENVO and EbikeBC continue to insist that the trike was delivered in road‑ready condition. This position is not supported by the facts. After twenty‑eight emails, a formal inspection, and months of waiting, the trike remains in my local bicycle shop, unusable. Based on my experience, customers should be aware that once payment is made, meaningful support may be extremely difficult to obtain from EbikeBC and ENVO, even when the product arrives in unsafe condition.
