This is the hot spot in Redmond Oregon. A great social atmosphere,super food and all around place to go. We eat here probably two to three times a week if not more. There is a full bar menu of drinks as well as a great happy hour food menu. Service has never let us down nor has any dish we have tasted. This is more of an adult social place however children are not turned away and are very much welcomed. The owners ( Pablo & Santana ) are very much know what customers want and how to treat them. If you have a special request just ask and they will do their best to get it done. Each year in April they hold the Diego's Annual Spring Fling Car Show. This will be the 6th one since they opened Diego's. The show has grown from 48 cars to 260 cars last year. It is great fun a huge draw to help the downtown area of Redmond. We came into Redmond for the weekend and unfortunately for us, discovered this place on our last day. My husband had an amazing seafood pasta and I had a carne asada burrito... I dropped by this place on the way back home from out of town and was very surprised how nice it is. We got seated quick and our food was out fast as well. Went for lunch on a weekday so it was fairly empty and we had our waiter almost to ourselves. Husband had the grilled ham and cheese, which was delicious. I had the Diego burrito with the carne asada. The flavoring of the rice in the burrito was so good, that I found myself leaving the meat out of most bites (I'm just not a big meat person and there was a lot of it in there). Our glasses never went empty, and the lunch prices were pretty reasonable. We looked at the dinner menu and it looks like it is mostly bigger sizes of the lunch entrees (although the lunches were big enough), but much higher prices so I think we'll stick mostly to lunches here. Our 3rd time dining at Diego's tonight and the entire experience continues to be top notch. Incredible service, great drinks, and above all, absolutely phenomenal food. We had to get the Pork Carnitas again as it has never disappointed but we also decided to listen to other reviews and try the Pork Osso Bucco. Listen to me now, you MUST GO NOW and order the Osso Bucco. Absolutely freaking amazing. Of course we had to order the tableside guacamole again and the No Rules margaritas are the tastiest freshest drinks. Definitely worth the money and time. We stopped here for dinner and got a variety of food, all of which was great. It is a large step up in food quality from a typical taqueria but didn't lose the authentic aspect of the food. I had the carne asada and had to hold back from licking my plate clean. I tried someone else's chicken and it was also really good. The food wasn't greasy at all, which is hard to find with Mexican food. Also, they make the guacamole in front of you and it was delicious! The margaritas were pretty good as well. We are big fans of diegos ever since moving to Redmond. It's always been our go to for tasty and fresh Mexican food. However , our recent visit has changed our minds. The overall quality of the food has gone downhill unfortunately. Everything on our plates has tasted as though it was reheated and prepackaged ; no fresh taste at all. The chicken and beef were bland and had no flavor at all. The black beans were more of a bean mush and the rice was a bit undercooked , getting hard pieces in each bite. The overall quality decline has unfortunately made us decide to no longer dine here. read more

Great place for a variety of excellent dishes. Fantastic appetizers. The fresh guacamole is well worth the price. The drink list is interesting as well. Although we were there on a Monday night, the place was packed. So we sat at the bar, which didn't alter the quality of service or dining experience. Our server was amazing. He was extremely attentive, very nice, helpful with our menu questions, and gave us as much chips as we wanted and we definitely took full advantage of that. I got the pork carnitas ravioli and my boyfriend got the Carne asada. It was all amazing and our soda cups didn't even have a chance to ever be empty because the server was on top of it. Always good, sometimes too good as it it a wait to get a table. Try the tableside guacamole and flatiron steak. Great for kids with an outdoor seating patio. We try to stop here every time we are in downtown Redmond. It is worth the short drive from Eagle Crest. read more

This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Went a couple weeks ago and we were so disappointed. Had the seafood chili relleno, the seafood and sauce was good, but the chili was tough. Another person had the Whiskey smoked brisket and doubted it was actually brisket or smoked. Tasted like stew meat in an overpowering bbq sauce. Drinks were good, but $100 for dinner for 2 and lack of quality meals makes it pretty certain we won't be returning. read more

This is one of our favorite places here in Redmond. Great food and atmosphere. It is a step above your typical Mexican food--love their green cilantro rice and refried black beans. However, it is not a place we would take a large group or our toddler as the seating doesn't allow it. Their fresh squeezed margaritas are wonderful! For us, this is a destination. We plan our trips from CA to our lake cabin in WA to stay overnight in Redmond so we can have dinner at Diego's. We discovered this wonderful restaurant 3 years ago and have brought our daughter and her family here on our way back from the cabin. They loved it, too! Also recommended it to my brother and sister in law - they stopped on the way to their cabin and rated it as exceptional! Every dish we have had is prepared perfectly. The variety is amazing and we have never been disappointed. They have a $20.00/bottle wine list with excellent wines to complement their excellent food. Prices are very reasonable. read more

In the past we have enjoyed dining at Diego's many times. However, this past weekend we were disappointed in both our entrees being excessively salty. Diegos is the only reason I drive from Bend to Redmond. Their food and service is amazing!! Honestly, I had some of the best salmon I've ever eaten and I lived in Seattle for many years so I've had some great salmon. Great atmosphere! Great food! I had the enchiladas del mar and it was a big portion and very good! They bring you salsa, chips, & water when you sit down and the salsa is good and spicy! My husband had the salmon and it was cooked and seasoned very well, he said the flavors and juices seemed to be seared into the meat! The margaritas were just the right amount of good and strong! The head person there seated us and let us choose our table, and came to check on us later after the meal had arrived, which was very quick after we ordered! We went on a Sunday evening and it was not busy at all. We were immediately greeted upon entering the front door and quickly seated. Our wonderful fresh squeezed margaritas were served soon after ordering. The entrees that we ordered were typical Mexican burritos and enchiladas but were some of the best we have ever had. The chicken breast meat in the burrito/enchiladas was well seasoned and tasted fresh. Everything was very delicious. We will definitely return the next time we are in Redmond. read more

Best Mexican food in the area! This place is usually packed by the time we arrive (for good reason) but it's worth the wait. The service is usually great, despite how busy it gets. We just tried the Ceviche and highly recommend it. We have had Diego's before and the food is some what expensive, but good. There is always a really long wait to get in to get food, but it's tasty so I don't always mind waiting a little for that. I downgrade this rating though, because of our visit tonight. As with before, there was a wait to get a table, so we waited. Others came a little while after we got there and were also told there was a wait. Shortly thereafter, they were given a table. When we asked why they got seated before us, even though we were there well before the other people, we got told it was because they have a baby and they wanted to give them a larger table. We were told that our table still wasn't ready and we would have to keep waiting. That is not the way a restaurant should work. If there is an open table, the next in line should be served. Whenever my wife and I are looking for a Mexican restaurant with quality food that we can always count on Diego's is where we go. Guacamole Fresco is to die for, And their drinks are generous and well-made. The wait staff is always friendly and the food is consistent do you know what you're getting into time after time. The only downfall Is that during the winter and the only available seating is really indoors and it is very very very loud inside the restaurant. Difficult to even hear the person talking across the table from you. During the summer there is outdoor seating in the back of the restaurant where it can be much quieter. Prices can be a little spendy especially if you're taking more than just you and a date out. Don't let that deter you from enjoying a fantastic dining experience. There is always more food than you can eat so you'll have enough to have a nice snack later on in the night also. read more

Diego's has been a favorite of ours for years, and our visit last night was, once again, just outstanding. Our out-of-state houseguest wanted to treat us to dinner, and he wanted a ribeye steak! I'm not much of a steak eater, but I saw it online on the menu, and off we went. We were a party of three, no reservation, on a busy Sunday evening, but our wait was less than five minutes. We started with a round of "no-rules" margaritas and some Tex-Mex eggrolls; the two guys both ordered ribeyes, and I had the pork carnitas ravioli. The steaks were beautiful, cooked perefctly as ordered. The ravioli was so delicious, it took a lot of control to not lick the plate! As always, the service was wonderful; just the right amount of attentive-but-not-overbearing, and things arrived at our table right on time. We have never had a bad experience at Diego's, or at the sister restaurant, Madeline's. Highly recommended! read more
