Great Food, Wonderful Ambience, & Great Service My 8 year old son and I went here to eat lunch after an appointment downtown. It was a bit hard to find but then again, it could have just been me as I am lousy with directions, even with using the gps on my phone. I had the two enchilada combo w the beef option. My son had cheese quesadilla. Both tasted great and even my picky son tried poking my finger when I tried to finagle another quesadilla piece. The side salsa that came with my enchiladas was really yummy. It tasted very different from normal salsa and very fresh. If it wasn't salsa, please let me know what it was. The service was prompt and the waiter that gave us complimentary nacho chip baskets with salsa dip took it upon himself to make sure it was the mild salsa. He must have noticed I had a small kid with me and deduced that I may want the not so spicy option on the salsa. Just small things that make you know he paid attention and made a calculated guess. Overall, the experience was wonderful. I would want to go back there again in future. I would be happy to recommend this place. read more

Holy smokes. This place is delicious. Some of the entrees are a little pricey, but the portions are enormous. I got a 2 combination plate, and it was huge. Their ceviche appetizer would have been enough for a meal and then some - it was so fresh and delicious. I got an enchilada and chile relleno, you can taste how fresh and homemade this food is. We will stop at Diego's every chance we get. The "NO RULES" margarita is to die for, especially with cazadores ;) read more

We have been here quite a few times and this time was probably not the best experience we have had. The food is always consistent. The carne asada is my favorite. Unfortunately the service wasn't the best this time. When we first put our name down, they said fifteen minutes and it ended up being forty. Also, they don't have pitchers of margaritas! Delicious food and cool spot. Bellied up the bar and was so thankful for good service and to be momentarily removed from the rat race called Bend. Highly recommend this spot as a refuel location after a day hike at the beautiful Smith Rock State Park. Whoever Diego is, he has figured out how to compliment delicious food with excellent service. We had a great dinner at Diego's during our recent visit to Redmond. The wait wasn't long for a Saturday night, but boy was it worth it. The service was prompt and efficient and the food was really terrific. I had a seafood chile relleno and my husband had to ranch steak. Both were cooked perfectly and the portion sizes were beyond generous. The margaritas were well made and also larger than usual. Everything was great, we will surely visit again! read more

Their chips and salsa was amazing! I can eat bucketloads of it. Their food is okay. Kinda tough to compete with Mexican food in LA but they aren't too bad considering the location. I got an order of 2 halibut tacos ($15). The only problem was that one side of the taco got super soggy so it was challenging to eat it like a taco. Their beef taquitos are pretty good - stuffed with lots of meat (not like your typically thin and meat deprived fried..things...). Located in the heart of old town Redmond we found this incredible authentic mexican /New American restaurant! We were ordered the gulf shrimp ceviche which came plated on large tostadas piled into avocado ans shrimp ceviche towers perfectly seasoned an fresh! We also were delightfully surprised at the Chef's execution of the seafood penne pasta! Rich and savory and perfectly seared gulf shrimp and sea scallops with generous lumps of crab meat! OMG! Any seafood lovers dream! It was all at once buttery but light and a hint of crab innards! We also ordered the Carna Asada which was accompanied by grilled jalapeño peppers and green onions! We just picked up a takeout order today from Diego's. They came out to the car, ran the payment and brought out the food & drinks with a smile. Can't ask for better service! And all we can say for the food is WOW, that Wow Burrito special for $10 is incredible! I had a pulled chicken burrito and my husband had a ground beef burrito...neither of us could begin to finish them! SO big and also SO good! Would we go back again for a repeat lunch? Absolutely! Located in old downtown Redmond, this little gem of a restaurant serves a surprising mix of entrees. The selections vary from more traditional Mexican plates to pasta and burgers. I wish there were half ratings because this should be rated a 3 1/2 stars. I had the dungeoness Crab enchiladas. These were excellent and more than I could eat. Friends had the ceviche, excellent and a pork stuffed ravioli with a cream sauce-a weird combo of flavor that didn't work for me. Very busy restaurant. Get there early. They have a patio out back. The restaurant is dark inside and long and narrow, so seating is a little awkward. Friendly staff and busy atmosphere. read more

Been to Diego's a couple years ago. Was ok. They pride themselves on fresh margaritas not from a mix. Just returned to them for lunch. My how things have changed. The prices are outrageous. I don't remember them being so high when I was there last. The daily specials are $20. The day I stopped in was burritos. Seriously...$20 for a burrito? No way. Not even close to worth it in taste or value. Margaritas are $13 and up depending on tequila selected and other options. One drink, one glass. Another establishment I found is the same price and quality but the glass comes full plus's a tumbler with approx two more drinks is also included. I'm just no longer interested in going to an overpriced, non impressive place when there are 3 more establishments very close that offer super deals and very comparable, if not better quality, food. read more

We went again, this time for lunch. It was as good as I remembered. They had a very good mild salsa that was a bit sweet -- our family just loved it. We shared the arroz con pollo again, which was really tasty. Also, I was glad to see that the lunch prices were quite a bit lower than dinner. It felt much more reasonable. Great restaurant in quaint little Redmond. Good ambience, great service and awesome food. Kids loved their pollo chipotle and fish tacos. I liked their great margarita that was simple with just Don Julio, orange liqueur and lime. The chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful. Went here on a busy Sunday afternoon. The place is very hip and stylish. It is clear they think a lot of themselves and others must as well judging by the crowd. But, this place is in Redmond, not downtown Portland - foodie capital of the PNW! We were excited to try this place as our family from Bend told us it was very good. The menu is not extensive but offers something for everyone. Our meals came to us nice and hot but a bit boring - mediocre at best. The cocktails were okay. Service took forever - over 45 minutes. The prices are high and it is extremely noisy due to concrete flooring and loud music. Not our idea of a relaxing place to enjoy a great meal. read more

First stop in Redmond and wow we're we off to a great start. Diegos left us all thrilled with our dinner. Fajitas, Osso buco and halibut steak were all absolutely delectable. This is the kinda food you wish you could pick your plate up and lick it when you are done. The restaurant was clean and inviting. Stopped in for a late dinner and was taken off guard by how good everything is here. Being from Austin, I'm no stranger to outstanding Mexican food or BBQ... and was looking to see how Oregon compared. I didn't have high expectations. The menu is quite complex and daunting to look at, there's no evident structure other than appetizers, entrees, specialties, etc., so be prepared to spend a while looking over. I will say though, everything I read sounded pretty good! I ended up getting the texmex spring rolls. Pulled pork, pepper jack cheese, rolled up and fried with a covering of housemade BBQ sauce?! I think I will good sir, I think I will. Verdict? AMAZING. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area. read more

This place absolutely blew me away! My husband and I came here late in the evening about 9pm after searching for a nice place to eat for our anniversary. We were greeting right away and asked our table preference. The staff was very friendly. We were served chips and salsa while we looked over the menu. The menu was huge and had a TON of options. I had a very hard deciding what to get as so many of their dishes sounded amazing. They had a ton of seafood which is my favorite and all their prices were very reasonable. We started off with some margaritas, I really liked how you got to pick which tequila you wanted out of a large list. The drink was nice and fresh. I settled on the Seafood Penne pasta and boy was I not disappointed! This was the BEST seafood alfredo type pasta I have EVER had!! The flavor in the sauce itself was so unique and flavorful. This dish also packed a ton on different seafood with giant prawns and scallops. The portion size was also very large and I was only able to each half. As i write this review i'm eating my leftovers and surprisingly heated up really well. My husband ordered the Halibut steak and was also very happy with his choice. The whole experience was a good one. I will for sure be coming back anytime i'm in town so I can try some of their other menu items. read more

This is a Mexican restaurant for people who are too afraid to be near real Mexicans. Sure they charge $24 for 3 tacos but that's the price you pay to be served by Mexican people but not actually have to dine with them. This is a cute restaurant in downtown Redmond. Food and service are both wonderful. I had the seafood chili relleno with rice and beans and W had the brisket with mashed potatoes and beans. My dish was so rich and delicious. I ate too many chips (really good) before my meal was served, so I could only eat half my food. I can't wait to eat the leftovers tomorrow. W thought his brisket and the beans were outstanding. He didn't like the fried onions. I tasted one and found it to be chewy, instead of crunchy, and it tasted as though it had been fried in old grease. There weren't very many though, so it wasn't a big deal. The potatoes tasted like they were prepared from dried potato flakes, but they were okay. Overall, we loved this restaurant and we will definitely return. read more

It's as good as everyone says it is. I came from Portland and had to detour to stop in for lunch. The food was absolutely amazing, service was great, and my son even polished off his burrito. Could be the best Mexican food I've had in all of Oregon. Really, I can't think of better food outside of actually eating at some of the hot spots in Cabo.
