Every item you'll find is in great condition and the shop itself is a remodeled old home. You'll notice that the ladies that work there are incredibly sweet and I've personally known one of them most of my life. Great lady. During Christmastime, Deanna and her husband cut out and paint wooden ornaments. Since about 2006, my siblings and myself have gotten an ornament from her every Christmas. Our tree is literally covered with them -- which makes for great memories. Even after I've moved out, I go back with my family each year to pick out another ornament. The store also smells wonderful -- bringing forth a sense of comfort. I hope this shop remains as it is for a long while. If you're passing through Winchester, which never takes long, consider stopping at Cashmere Cat. It can be difficult finding worthwhile things to do in a small town - so consider this a helpful tip.

I personally fought the urge to go home with the magnolia silk wreath beside the front counter but my mom ended up buying a kitchen tea towel and oven mit. From the moment you see the front window display at Cozy Nest you'll know this isn't your average small town gift shop filled with trinkets, Cherished Teddies, Precious Moments and Wooden Willows angels (no offense to you collectors out there). Conveniently located a few doors down from lunch at the Montage Cafe and cappuccinos at The Coffee Pot and you couldn't ask for a better Saturday morning in Greenville. I was impressed with the prices given what the items are. My only complaint was that the shopkeeper seemed to have a friend in while we were there and never greeted or engaged with us which would seem like a great marketing opportunity for a newer business. We'll certainly be back and I imagine this scenario isn't always the case.

Food (lots of jams and jellies), coffee, homemade bread and baked goods (made in Greenville with the flour ground at the mill), home goods, jewelry, and clothing. The outside is somewhat misleading as it normally is with antique stores - it's much larger on the inside with the main building with an additional back area full of even more goodies. They have an amazing selection of everything - coins, china, magazines, postcards, furniture, mattresses, jewelry, knick-knacks, records, assorted collectibles, country charm-type stuff, primitives, Americana - everything you'd expect at a great antique mall, and generally all of it is good quality stuff at very reasonable prices. The staff is so helpful and friendly - if you need something, they will not hesitate to assist you, and if you don't need help, they won't pester you. For being a small-town store, they certainly have a lot of great treasures to be found. Of course, some of these treasures require a little more digging than others, but all of the wares in the place are organized rather well, so finding what you're looking for is rarely a problem. Overall, if you're ever in the Portland area, you should definitely pay a visit to the Jay Garment Antique Mall - you won't be sorry. It's a must-visit for any antiquing excursion in the Central Indiana area.
