After a several month long remodel, the variety of products is outstanding and there is no better place in the area to begin your own remodel or small project. The store is attractive, easy to find and has very helpful associates. One of the best aspects of this reworking of an already excellent store was the addition of a Guns and Ammo section. There is a wonderful variety of long guns and handguns and Adam's prices are as low as anyone. Whether you need to rent a Bobcat or pick up a hard-to-find gun screw (seriously, Adam stocks these), purchase an AR-15 or a Purdy paintbrush, this store is an unexpected gem. If I lived further away, it would be worth the drive because of the collective home and hardware knowledge of the proprietors.

The team is friendly and will quickly help you find what you're looking for. It has all the small town nostalgia vibes of a Hallmark movie. During my brief visit this past weekend, I was able to find some great deals on vegetables (I picked up eggplants and jalapeños, perennials and annuals. I ended up snagging a full flat for $12 and purchasing two bags of pitting soil that were also reasonably priced. Didier also sells mulch by the truck-bed (smaller amounts are available). It's great to have a trusty option available like this in a small town like Union City to avoid the trek to the bigger box stores in Greenville or Richmond.

The land was later purchased (1917) by Frank Ball, of the Ball Jar Company and became part of his estate. The shop is filled with Indiana themed items that you can't find anywhere else. They have wonderful Bob Ross themed gifts, books, paint kits and even wigs if you want to do Bob Ross impersonations. Another shelf is full of Ball jars and assorted canning equipment. There were even lovely, hand crafted earrings made from old Ball jars. Local Amish popcorn and other Indiana goodies filled shelves. Garden decor and narwhal themed toys were featured. A clerk welcomed us as we entered and offered assistance. Supposedly they sell sandwiches, but I didn't see a counter for them. I did see a freezer with ice cream bars. Patio seating with umbrellas were in an outdoor area in front. The building is accessible and parking is abundant. This is a perfect shop for Indiana themed gifts.

I'm really not sure how to review this place. Since wine and beer making is my boyfriend's thing, not mine, I hung out with Charley the parrot while my boyfriend discussed various ingredients with the guy in charge (GIC). Things were slightly different when I went in a couple days ago. When I walked in, I was greeted by several slack-jawed yokels sitting on a couch staring at me like I had accidentally wandered in to their wake-and-bake. The GIC from before was sitting behind the counter and started to help me (I was picking up a packet of yeast for a wine experiment that Boyfriend wanted to try), but a very unpleasant woman (part of the couch potato group) decided to be "helpful" and proceeded to interrupt and grill me with questions I didn't know the answers to. "WHAT KIND OF BOTTLES ARE YOU USING? ARE YOU PUTTING HOPS IN THERE? YOU'RE GONNA BLOW THE TOP OFF THE WINE BOTTLE IF YOU USE THE 121 YEAST. ALL I GOT IS THE 838. DO YOU WANT THE 838? ALL ALCOHOL NEEDS YEAST." I don't know, lady, but I don't remember asking you any questions, so I don't know why you're comin' at me with this confrontational crap. Of course, I didn't say that - I just bought a packet of champagne yeast and got the heck out of there as fast as I could. Since Wine N Vine is apparently the only beer/wine making supplier in the immediate area, my suggestion is to stay out of there on an early Friday afternoon and you should be all set.

Lo and behold, I found a new (second year) Christmas tree farm not too far from my hometown of Union City. Currently, they offer pre-cut trees, garland, wreaths, and a variety of lovely gifts like Fraser fir candles and soaps. All of the staff we encountered were incredibly friendly and helpful. The prices were also reasonable. The live garland was priced at 25 feet for $16 and bundles of greens were $5 for decorating. We ended up purchasing three live garland bunches and live greens. From the family photo in the sleigh to the complimentary hot cider, this festive spot was a treat for our family. Wishing this business nothing but the best!
